Apple Original Films has released the official trailer for Way of the Warrior Kid, an upcoming family adventure starring Chris Pratt, Linda Cardellini and Jude Hill. Directed by McG, the film explores bullying, resilience and the importance of finding confidence, with Pratt stepping into the role of an injured Navy SEAL who helps his young nephew navigate the challenges of school.

Based on the bestselling novel by former Navy SEAL Jocko Willink, the film follows Marc (Jude Hill), a young boy struggling with bullying and feeling out of place among his classmates. With difficulties extending from the classroom to physical education and making friends, Marc finds himself lacking the confidence to stand up for himself.

His circumstances begin to change when his uncle Jake (Chris Pratt), a decorated Navy SEAL recovering from an injury sustained during a mission, moves in with Marc and his mother, Sarah (Linda Cardellini), for the summer.

When Marc opens up about the treatment he receives at school, he asks his uncle to teach him how to fight back. However, Jake takes a different approach, drawing on his military background to develop an intensive training programme known as Operation Warrior Kid.

Rather than encouraging Marc to respond to violence with violence, Jake focuses on building his nephew’s physical strength, discipline and mental resilience. As the training progresses, Marc begins to discover a stronger sense of self-belief, while Jake also confronts challenges of his own.

The newly released trailer offers a glimpse at the film’s blend of action, humour and heartfelt storytelling, highlighting the developing bond between the two characters. At its core, Way of the Warrior Kid aims to deliver a message about courage, perseverance and learning to face adversity.

Alongside Pratt, Cardellini and Hill, the cast includes Jocko Willink, Ava Torres, Levi McConaughey, Darien Sills-Evans, Carl McDowell and Parker Young.

McG, whose previous directing credits include Charlie’s Angels and Terminator Salvation, directs from a screenplay written by Will Staples, known for Without Remorse. The film is produced by David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger, McG, Mary Viola, Chris Pratt, Ben Everard, Bruce Wayne Gillies and Willink.

Way of the Warrior Kid will premiere globally on Apple TV on November 25, 2026.
