Jason Statham and Guy Ritchie Reunite for Netflix Revenge Thriller ‘Dogfight’

Jason Statham and Guy Ritchie are joining forces once again, this time for Dogfight, a new Netflix action thriller set against the dangerous backdrop of London’s criminal underworld. The upcoming film marks the latest chapter in the longtime collaborators’ partnership, bringing their signature blend of crime, action and stylish storytelling back to the screen.

Described by Netflix as a stylish revenge actioner, Dogfight will be written, directed and produced by Ritchie, with Statham taking on the lead role. Production is scheduled to begin in the United Kingdom in early 2027, although specific plot details and additional casting announcements have yet to be fully revealed.

The project sees the duo return to the gritty crime territory that helped establish their creative partnership. Their collaboration began with Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels in 1998, followed by the acclaimed crime comedy Snatch in 2000. Both films became defining entries in British crime cinema and helped launch Statham’s career as an action star.

Their subsequent collaborations include Revolver, Wrath of Man and Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre. With Dogfight, the pair will continue a partnership that has spanned nearly three decades, with their seventh film collaboration further cementing their shared history.

Behind the scenes, Ritchie and Statham will produce the film alongside Ivan Atkinson and John Friedberg. The project brings together Black Bear, Ritchie’s Toff Guy Films and Statham’s Punch Palace, combining the creative teams behind several of their previous ventures.

The film also expands Ritchie’s relationship with Netflix. The filmmaker previously found success with The Gentlemen, the crime series inspired by his 2019 film of the same name. That series helped establish his distinctive storytelling style on the streaming platform, making Dogfight a natural next step in his growing partnership with the streamer.

Meanwhile, Statham continues to maintain a busy schedule in the action genre, with several projects in development and production. The actor has built a reputation for playing formidable leading men in high-stakes thrillers, making him a fitting collaborator for Ritchie’s return to London’s criminal underworld.

The pair are also reuniting for Viva La Madness, another crime-focused project based on J.J. Connolly’s novel of the same name. With multiple collaborations on the horizon, fans of their previous work have plenty to anticipate.

For now, Netflix has not announced a release date for Dogfight. With production expected to commence in early 2027, further details about the story and cast are likely to emerge as the project moves forward.
