Brenton Thwaites (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales) and Erin Moriarty (The Boys) have joined the cast of C.L.A.Y., an upcoming psychological cyber-thriller written, directed and produced by Simon Afram.
The pair will star alongside previously announced cast members Nicolas Cage, Michael Sheen, Jordi Mollà, Emilio Sakraya, Adrian Topol and Agnez Mo.
C.L.A.Y. marks Afram’s feature directorial debut, following his work on the World War II espionage film Fortitude, which he wrote and produced for director Simon West.
The film centres on a brilliant but socially isolated computer prodigy who discovers a sense of purpose and belonging after becoming involved with C.L.A.Y. (Clowns Laughing At You), an underground hacker collective. Known for their daring digital exploits, the group soon finds its online provocations spilling into the real world, with increasingly dangerous consequences.
As C.L.A.Y.’s notoriety grows, the collective attracts unwanted attention from intelligence agencies, criminal organisations and rival hackers, threatening to turn their rebellious activities into something far more dangerous.
Production is scheduled to take place on location in London from November 2026.
Afram will produce the film alongside Georgette Turner, Edward Kahl, Reza Roohi and Adrian Topol. Executive producers include Bianca Goodloe, David Scaramanga, Cüneyt Kaya and Daniel Haido.
