Cameron Diaz is proving that her acting comeback is in full swing, with Netflix unveiling a hilarious new trailer for her upcoming comedy Bad Day.
The action comedy sees Diaz take on the role of a stressed single mother whose plans quickly spiral out of control as she attempts to keep one important promise to her daughter. What should be a relatively straightforward day turns into an increasingly chaotic series of disasters, all while she desperately tries to make it to her daughter’s soccer game.
The newly released trailer offers a glimpse of just how badly things can go wrong. From having her car towed after parking in a road repair zone to accidentally dropping a television into an aquarium at a clinic while accompanying her father to a dialysis appointment, the unfortunate incidents keep piling up.
Things take an even more ridiculous turn when her bank account is frozen and she finds herself accused of robbery after attempting to withdraw just $30. A collision involving another car only adds to the growing list of problems, with the already overwhelmed mother suddenly finding herself labelled a criminal.
Despite the escalating chaos, her determination to follow through on her promise to her daughter remains at the heart of the story.
Diaz is joined by an impressive ensemble cast featuring Danielle Brooks, Rhenzy Feliz, John Higgins, Mark Duplass, Jessica Belkin, Ed O’Neill, Rob Corddry, Ayden Mayeri, Ben Schwartz, Retta, Emma Pearson, P.J. Byrne, Sherry Cola, Edi Patterson and Beck Bennett.
Behind the camera, Jake Szymanski directs, following his work on the acclaimed hidden-camera comedy series Jury Duty. The screenplay comes from Laura Solon.
For Diaz, Bad Day marks another exciting chapter in her return to acting. Following her appearance in Netflix’s Back in Action, the actress is once again embracing comedy, with the new trailer showcasing the physical humour and comedic timing that made her a familiar favourite in films such as There’s Something About Mary and Charlie’s Angels.
Bad Day is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on December 11, 2026.
