The first trailer for Karōshi, an upcoming futuristic action thriller starring Giancarlo Esposito and Cynthia Erivo, has officially arrived. Lionsgate Movies has unveiled an intense preview, offering audiences a glimpse into the film’s dark, high-stakes world.
Esposito and Erivo are set to play two key characters in the highly anticipated project, which explores corporate power, workplace culture, and a violent system operating beneath the surface of a seemingly sophisticated society.
Esposito, widely recognized for his acclaimed performance in Breaking Bad, has built an impressive career across film and television. His notable credits include Better Call Saul, The Gentlemen, Do the Right Thing, and The Usual Suspects, among several other projects.
Meanwhile, Cynthia Erivo has also established herself as a versatile performer in the entertainment industry. Best known for her role in Wicked, the American singer and actress has appeared in films such as Widows, Drift, and Bad Times at the El Royale.
Directed by Takashi Doscher, Karōshi takes place in a near-future version of Manhattan, where corporate loyalty and cultural traditions have transformed everyday life. The story follows a mysterious outsider who infiltrates a powerful corporation following the death of one of its employees. As he investigates further, he uncovers a brutal system hidden behind the company’s polished image.
