A seemingly straightforward robbery takes a painfully chaotic turn in the first trailer for Drag, an upcoming dark comedy thriller starring Lizzy Caplan and Lucy DeVito.
The film follows two estranged sisters who decide to break into a secluded home in upstate New York, hoping to pull off a quick and easy robbery. However, their plans quickly unravel when one of the sisters, played by Caplan, suffers an unfortunate back injury and becomes immobilised on the second floor of the property.
With their escape plan falling apart, the sisters are forced to work together to get out of the house before its owner returns. What should have been a simple getaway becomes an increasingly absurd and dangerous ordeal, with their already strained relationship adding another layer of tension to the situation.
Things take an even darker turn when the homeowner, played by John Stamos, unexpectedly arrives. The trailer suggests the sisters have stumbled into something far more disturbing than they initially anticipated, leaving them fighting not only to escape but also to survive.
Christine Ko also stars in the film, rounding out an ensemble that brings together elements of suspense, physical comedy and increasingly unpredictable horror.
Drag marks the feature directorial debut of Raviv Ullman and Greg Yagolnitzer, who also co-wrote the screenplay. The film is produced by Lucy DeVito, Danny DeVito and Jake DeVito under their Jersey Films 2nd Avenue banner.
The film previously premiered at the 2026 SXSW Film & TV Festival, where it generated positive early critical attention, including a 94% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Briarcliff Entertainment will release Drag in US cinemas on January 29, 2027.
