St. Humain is a Singapore born, Sydney based singer, songwriter and producer whose music is a delicious amalgam of sounds and stories. The genre-agnostic artist blends pop and electronic with a healthy dose of R&B, to create something which is comfortably familiar, yet alluringly unknown. St. Humain strives to represent the everyday person, delivering honest and relatable songs which speak about his own battles and looks to explore the emotions that make us human.
St. Humain is back with his next tune “Memento”, ahead of his upcoming EP METADRAMATIC. It originated as an idea from two friends in Indonesia: Songwriter Josh Palandi and producer Jon Mauliate. Jumping straight onto the track, St. Humain developed a pop-inspired ode to the remnants of a relationship and those bittersweet memories you often keep when things are hazy. He confides, “‘Memento’ came about from that core feeling of missing somebody, or longing for somebody at times. I wanted to express that emotion set against the dream land that is California. Imagine driving from state to state, trying to get back to where they are…”
These chronicles offer lyrical encapsulations into the mementos of a time gone by. Paired with St. Humain’s blissful vocal energy that rises atop a bulging bassline and contagious Latin-inspired rhythm, “Mememto” offers a truly enrapturing listening experience that pays homage to his love of pop, inspired by artists like Lauv, Blxst, and J Balvin.
Having released his debut EP, EMOTIONAL SAUNA, in 2019 with Capitol Records, to the acclaim of Billboard, Live Nation’s Ones to Watch and Earmilk, to name a few, St. Humain is hoping to aid Asian representation in the music industry and prove that the dreams of a boy from the small country of Singapore aren’t just dreams. Following the success of his previous single “Sad Sick Love Song”, he has racked up over a million streams to date for his music and it’s looking like he will continue to soar in success.
Serving up some vintage rock’n’roll with brand new visuals – DAVEY HORNE – is pleased to present the official video for: “Diego & Maria”.
WATCH THE VIDEO HERE
Following swiftly in the footsteps of fellow single “Welcome to the Future”, its AA flipside “Diego & Maria” tells a tale of two outlaw bounty hunters journeying across the American midwest, spun with an epic southern rock-indebted score to match it. As Davey explains of the song:
“I always like the idea of telling a story through my lyrics. I love America, the landscapes, cowboys and Westerns. “Diego and Maria” is a song about two outlaw bounty hunters (Diego & Maria) on the hunt for a killer named Billy Black. The song leaves you on a bit of a cliff hanger not really knowing what finally happens…”
Told with all the drama of a Bob Dylan or Nick Cave narrative and recalling the retro stylistics of Creedence Clearwater Revival or The Allman Brothers at the peak of their powers; it arrives as another exhilarating example of an artist returning from an extended break to seize the moment, and creating some of his best work to date.
Filmed by Beezom Productions, the accompanying video offers fly-on-the-wall footage of Davey and his band conjuring-up the track at the scenic Tpot Studio in Perthshire. As Davey reflects of the video:
“The location and vibes at Tpot are absolutely incredible. The studio is an old schoolhouse situated up in the Hills in Perthshire, Scotland. We tracked the core of the track live with quite a few overdubs, so I wanted to try and capture all of this along with the energy on the day. It’s quite a special place.”
Recorded at Tpot Studios in Perthshire Scotland, “Diego & Maria” was written by Davey Horne alongside its AA-side single counterpart “Welcome To The Future”. Both tracks were mastered by Pete Maher (U2, Echo & The Bunnymen) and engineered/mixed by Robin Evans.

“When ‘Silver Linings’ first came out in December of 2020, our band was in the midst of being at home for the longest amount of time in a row EVER!” recounts trombonist Buddy Schaub. “We were all so excited to release it to the world because it was the first album with our new drummer, Matt Yonker, and our first attempt at writing all the lyrics on a record. Unfortunately, we were still stuck at home and couldn’t go out and breathe life into the songs on stage like they deserved! Putting out this Deluxe Version seemed like a great way to re-introduce the record to those who may have missed it in the chaos of the last couple of years.
Speaking on their new music video for “So Much Less”, Schaub comments: “‘So Much Less’ didn’t get pushed as a single, but our fans have definitely been bringing it up a lot over the past 2 years as a stand-out. So we thought it was time to bring it into the spotlight. We shot some footage all throughout the summer tour and it definitely captures the feeling of being on the road”

Jayde has “always felt a compulsion to externalize my thoughts and internal conflicts.” Growing up in a small town in Ontario, surrounded by instruments at her grandparents’ house and listening to her dad blast Coldplay songs on his stereo, Jayde gravitated toward music from a young age. Her parents describe how she began writing little melodies and lyrics about how the wind felt or how the sky was blue. When she hit her adolescent years, she threw herself into any opportunity to create music, which involved many singer-songwriter competitions, small performances, and songwriting camps. Jayde excelled in these settings, especially when competing on CTV’s The Launch, receiving praise from artists and industry executives such as Jann Arden, Scott Borchetta and Marie Mai.
Jayde released a set of singles in 2018, which she felt were the first hints at her ‘real’ sound and displayed the intimate moments that she values addressing through her artistry. In 2021, Jayde released her debut EP titled Sad Songs About Sad Things. For Jayde, the EP functioned as an “artistic scrapbook” from a very transitional time period in her life. As the songs organically culminated, the project became monumental to Jayde’s artistic identity; she felt that it was important enough to share with others – her only hope in mind that others might resonate with her stories and take comfort in the connection. The EP was featured in outlets such as Ones to Watch, Early Rising, Before the Data, Sheesh, Music.com, and The Hidden Hits, as well as notable playlists, namely New Music Friday Canada, It’s a Bop, Fresh Finds, Fresh Finds Pop, EQUAL Canada, and Radar Canada.
Jayde is ramping up to release more music in 2022. She explains that “the new releases are some of the most genuine” to her creative identity, “this project came from a period of musical exploration but personal stagnation.” There was a great deal of existential dread involved in the creative process as Jayde questioned everything around her, including her personal relationships, her artistry, and her creativity. “Writing and recording this past year definitely wasn’t a glamorous experience. I would walk into a writing session and spill out my entire life to strangers, and we connected and made something from it. It was the most vulnerable I have ever been, and only through music did I process my emotions.” Jayde maintains tackling her “sad” subject matter, but her newest songs are moody, energetic, and incredibly empowering. Finally, having let go of any notions of who she should sound like, or what she should say, there is no hesitation in her latest artistry to dig into hard truths about what it is like to be a creative and navigate personal identity within the rapidly changing contemporary world.
Creature Canyon release their coming of age debut album, ‘Remarks’, via Gnu Roam/Kartel Music Group – Stream ‘Remarks’ Here. The album follows the release of a strings of singles including the expansive Sleepwalking, the groovey ‘Faded Fire’, the driving ‘Simulator’, the soulful ‘Mirrors’ and the propulsive ‘Pressure’, which served as an introduction to the band’s debut album – a coming of age tale capturing the emotional conflicts of love and loss through a journey of self-discovery, portrayal of personal growth and reflection in the modern age, all wrapped around the band’s texturally rich and well-crafted sound. The upbeat alt groover album focus track — ‘Heartbeat’ — arrives alongside a euphoric backyard performance video. With sunny three-part vocal harmonies, bouncy guitar solos and catchy love-drenched choruses, “Heartbeat” shows Creature Canyon’s uncanny ability to embody their Southern California vibes to form their own niche, in the ever-evolving indie/alternative soundspace – Watch the ‘Heartbeat’ music video here. ‘Remarks’ was produced by Private Island frontman Christian Lum, engineered by Mike Schuppan (Foster The People, Young The Giant, Wolf Alice), mixed by Jordon Silva (Vance Joy, The Avett Brothers), and mastered by Brian Lucey (Cage The Elephant, Arctic Monkeys, The Black Keys). Talking about the album, Creature Canyon say; “creating this album has been a journey for us, both emotionally and sonically. We spent a lot of time early on in the writing process establishing a sound that collectively represented each and every member of the band. We all had equal contributions to the songwriting, pulling from each member’s past experiences to bring it all together”.
New York dream-pop duo – LAVEDA – return with a scintillating new single: “Surprise”.

Chewing through a gauzy blend of 90s-tinted driving guitars, ethereal vocals and glimmering melodies, “Surprise” arrives as another glimpse into Laveda’s awaited second LP ‘A Place You Grew Up In’, due early next year.
Bringing to mind the likes of Alvvays, Soccer Mommy, Big Thief or My Bloody Valentine, the track is a hazy slice of feel-good dream-pop with a bitter sting in its tail. “Surprise” is gauzy and glittering with sun-drenched rhythms — but its lyrics take a darker turn.
Jake Brooks explains:
“The lyrics are meant to juxtapose the happy sunshine feeling throughout the song. “Surprise” is about dealing with loneliness and loss in this modern age. The overall sound represents how bright and happy we present ourselves on social media. But in reality, everyone’s depressed and stressed over the rapidly devolving state of society.”
Manchester-based singer-songwriter Steve Trafford has unveiled his new single “As Good As It Gets”, with a solo album on the way.
LISTEN HERE || STREAM ON ALL SERVICES HERE
Polished and percussive, the new track blends gleaming ‘60s pop minimalism with alt-rock sensibilities as crisp vocals flirt with jangling instrumentals and a triumphant brass section.
Written at home while in a “desolate slump” at the height of lockdown, Steve Trafford recorded “As Good As It Gets” by himself in his garden shed, before bringing in The Apples in Stereo vocalist Robert Schneider (Neutral Milk Hotel, The Olivia Tremor Control) and Hamish Benjamin (Danny George Wilson, High Water Marks) on production duties.
Of the new single, Steve explains:
“Lyrically it’s a tongue-in-cheek play on the double entendre phrase ‘as good as it gets’. Telling someone they are as good as it gets could either be very offensive or very beautiful. In essence that’s what it’s about: a cheeky joke and accepting your lot in life. Asking yourself is this as good as it’s ever going to be might mean you need to stop looking so you can find things. There’s moments when you want to give up, but then there’s moments when you’re very grateful. Spending a lot of time with someone means you have to accept all of their annoying flaws, yet you’re reminded that you really need and love this person.”
rising NZ electronic music producer/songwriter duo Kédu Carlö share their ‘Alien Fempire’ EP, out on EMK, the electronic music platform launched by Kartel Music Group. Stream ‘Alien Fempire’ EP Here Following up on the recent release of the playful90’s rave and acid house influenced cut‘Coochie’, ‘Alien Fempire’ perfectly showcases the duo’s future-facing club sound. Opening the six-track EP with the raw techno cut ‘Intergalactica’, Kédu Carlö set the tone for the rest of the release, a body of work blending together their love for late 80s/90’s rave culture, acid house and techno, and featuring their trademark cool irreverence and undeniable production skills. The focus track of the EP, ‘Ground CTRL’, is a moody and dramatic number unleashing punchy and dynamic energy. The duo effectively deliver a hyper-percussive cut experimenting with intricate rhythms and exhaustive textures. The use of warm jazz synth chords works to create a spirited soundscape for the wandering star-trek-esque lead synth to explore and dominate. Included in the EP is also a club version of lead single ‘Coochie’, which turns the undeniable catchy bassline, main acid house line, alien led synths and vocoder vocals of the original cut into a bouncy dancefloor burner. Talking about their collaborative production process, the duo says: “Our production process is very collaborative, and goes back and forth a lot with Carly adding percussion elements and Jess adding melodic until the track is at a point where we can start thinking about vocals. Our monologues are always written together and are usually an amalgamation of things said over a conversation. We try to include as much humour and personality in them as we can, building a unique and captivating persona”.
DEUX FURIEUSES are sounding the alarm bells with new single ‘All We Need Is Sanctuary’, the third track to be taken from their new album ‘Songs From Planet Earth’.
STREAM ON ALL SERVICES HERE || WATCH VIDEO HERE
Refusing to compromise on their stirring brand of articulate post punk that tackles issues of injustice with an unflinching attitude and meticulous musicianship, “All We Need Is Sanctuary” is an arms open wide plea for a world whose occupants are all too ready to watch it burn.
As poised as it is punchy, the track pits ringing guitars against big drums with shimmering percussion and imploring vocals as the song contrasts the insanity of city existence during the pandemic lockdown with the sanity of a life in nature. Deux Furieuses explain:
“‘All We Need Is Sanctuary’ is our SOS from this scorched Planet Earth. It describes a journey from the pandemic pressure of an overcrowded city to an old world of trees, springs, paths and stars. An SOS from scrambled minds in search of the sanity of sanctuary, as the sanctuary itself is under threat of extinction.”
‘All We Need Is Sanctuary’ follows ‘Know The Score’ and ‘Bring Down The Government’ as strident samplers of what to expect from Deux Furieuses third full-length LP, ‘Songs From Planet Earth‘. Landing on 11 November, the album is the band’s second with Xtra Mile Recordings and was written over the course of the last two turbulent years.
Touching on the maelstrom of socio-political issues that continue to dominate the UK, from widespread inequality and the ongoing outcomes of the pandemic to environmental issues and gender politics, the album takes unflinching aim at a government completely incompetent to deal with them.
Introducing Canadian-born, Brooklyn-based indie dream/pop artist Jenny Kern. With a magnetic vocal style and emotively piercing lyricism, Kern’s music has been amassing plenty of attention around the globe. Having originally started as a Page at NBC, Kern then went on to work for acclaimed filmmakers Noah Baumbach and Greta Gerwig, before eventually becoming a producer in the film and television industry. In 2018 Kern decided to take a leap of faith and pursue her passion for music full time.
Drawing on personal experiences, her songs unfold through a confessional-style delivery revealing the strength that can only come through vulnerability. Exploring what it means to be human and everything from anxiety, depression, getting older, interpersonal relationships, gratitude, love and loss, Kern confides,”I think most people assume that my music skews toward lyrical sadness but I always try to inject a hopeful undercurrent to it. I want people to feel like there’s hope and just because something feels heavy doesn’t mean that it’s going to be that way forever.”
Taking profound inspiration from the likes of The 1975, Chelsea Cutler, and Maggie Rogers, her new single “Miss Somebody” offers a realm of reminiscence. In an ode to past love, Kern worked alongside producer Carson Cody (Valley, joan) to create a tune that echoes with her blissful vocal energy, contagious melancholy and melodious bliss. Synthesisers intertwine with vibrant rhythms to produce a truly remarkable tune. Kern explains, “As much as love is a part of being human, so is heartbreak. But there’s something beautiful about remembering something special. I’m definitely a person who struggles to let go of certain moments, feelings or people. However, I am learning how to appreciate those moments even when they’re gone. I’m learning how important it is to live in the present emotions. To think, process and write about them. To feel it all and know it’s ok to miss somebody.”
With features on MTV, ABC and the CW, Kern has found herself connecting with major industry producers and writers. Recent months have also seen Kern’s music placed on several Spotify editorial playlists including Fresh Finds, Indie All-Stars and New Music Friday which collectively have over a million followers. Garnering a global audience, humbling praise from the likes of Earmilk, Variance and Ones to Watch, and management in original Glee producer Michael Novick, Kern illustrates impeccable music ability. Ahead of her highly anticipated EP, Jenny Kern is finalizing North American tour dates for fall 2022, including an EP release show in Toronto at The Baby G. Stay tuned!
Sussex indie-pop trio WILD HORSE return with the rollicking and relatable new single: “Bitter”.

Breezing through buoyant instrumentals, relatable lyricism and soulful guitar lines that wriggle in the head long after the track has finished, “Bitter” lands as another polished cut of indie-pop from Sussex based-band.
Tapping into the dull ache of uncertainty that comes with navigating relationships as a young adult, “Bitter” is a self-assured statement of intent from a fast rising band whose studio output is growing from strength to strength. With funk influences oozing through its catchy choruses and feel-good rhythms that are laden with a deeper relatability, vocalist and songwriter Jack Baldwin elaborates of the message behind track:
“The song is about somebody wanting more from someone who just wants something casual, and the general mixed emotions and confusion having a casual partner can create.”
Singer/songwriter EMINZADA is a multi-dimensional artist with an exclusive style and powerful mindset. Originally from Baku City, Azerbaijan, EMINZADA has grown up with diversity in abundance, living between Azerbaijan, Turkey and the US, before making his move to London. Paying homage to his classical background in music composition, his music explores notions of camp, lust and escapism, representing freedom of art expression and his homeland’s musical culture and futurism, with his Azerbaijani heritage beaming proudly throughout.
Following the success of his recent singles, EMINZADA is back with his latest endeavour “Sociopath”, an alternative pop tune with an Azerbaijani touch. Taking inspiration from Aziza Mustafazadeh; whose phenomenal job both compositionally and performance wise fuelled EMINZADA’s ambition to fuse vintage Azerbaijani classics with modern melodic embellishments; the chord progression for “Sociopath” was born.
In collaboration with multidisciplinary artist Apollo Love, “Sociopath” was written alongside Fanny Sonderberg, Erin McGlynn and Karim Afas to form a truly contagious single. EMINZADA shares, “This is song is about the person who I was afraid to become. At some point, I met so many sociopaths in my life – their toxic character and demanding attitude was part of my life. I felt like a source of energy for them, and at the end of the day I was so drained that I couldn’t continue doing my everyday activities.” Continuing an exploration into his truly idysocranic discourses, “Sociopath” soars with electronically-charged synthesisers, a blaring bassline and echoing vocality, that was brought to life and recorded by a harmonious choir from a local church in Hampstead.
EMINZADA’s support for the disabled LGBTQIA+ community continues to be at focal point of his work, casting a brighter light on artist’s who have experienced adversity in their life, and had a hard time finding their place within their community. The London based artist is not just an advocate and an ally for this community, but a part of it, as he manages a disability himself in the form of Pectus Excavatum; a disability that for singers in particular can be a devastating hindrance. Unapologetically himself, EMINZADA always felt as though he didn’t fit in with society’s standards of male beauty, however has empowered himself and others to stand out and stand up for themselves, overcoming both physical and emotional hurdles.

“Die In LA“
• Los Angeles singer-songwriter, Hunter Daily, is making her official debut with “Die In LA,” the first in a series of singles that will arrive throughout the remainder of 2022 into 2023. The accompanying music video premiered via Wonderland.
• “‘Die In LA’ is about being from LA and never feeling like I can leave or see other places because of the industry I’ve chosen… Everyone else gets to make that leap to follow their dreams and come here to LA, or wherever, but when you’re from here and in this industry, you’re forced to stay put. This song is about my longing to see more of the world and escape some of the monotony that is LA.” – Hunter Daily
• “Die In LA” is executively produced by Jenna Andrews (the hitmaker behind BTS’ “Butter” and “Dynamite,” in addition to Benee’s “Supalonley”).
This is Yoyo Comay – Toronto-based musician and poet – here to share my project, Sufferin Mall. It is a space for me to explore the relationship between desire and suffering.
With this new song, I wanted the chorus of the song to be really blown out and exaggerated, so that when it hits, the listener feels crushed – like a car crashing into the wall of sound and being totally crumpled.
“Crushed” also refers to the bit-crusher effect that’s used to degrade audio quality, which is something I used on the sparkly acoustic guitars that play throughout the song. The chorus itself is full of massive electric guitars and booming 808s, which just adds to the sense of force.
Listen to “Crushed” on streaming services now.
Crushed is also the name of my EP that’s coming out September 29th. I like it because it combines this sweet sentiment of having a crush on someone with this violent imagery. I think the song itself does a good job of encapsulating this combination of sweet and sour, with its poppy melody and bright production juxtaposed against a kind of whiny and abrasive vocal tone, and very distorted electric guitars.
The artwork is partly inspired by the movie Crash, based on the JG Ballard novel about people who find car crashes erotic. In the Sufferin Mall world as a whole, I’m always playing and drawing attention to these conjunctions of pleasure and pain, and how they mix with our desire.
If you are reading this, Sufferin Mall is probably in your hands. Literally. It is your birthright and deathwish. From Sufferin to Sovereign. That’s the move. Amen.
Stay tuned,
Yoyo Comay of Sufferin Mall
