Disney has officially announced the release date for Ella McCay, a new comedy movie starring Emma Mackey. This marks Mackey’s first high-profile movie, following her breakout performance in Netflix’s comedy series Sex Education.
“The story follows an idealistic young politician who juggles familial issues and a challenging work life while preparing to take over the job of her mentor, the state’s longtime incumbent governor,” reads the synopsis.
Ella McCay is scheduled to arrive in theaters on September 19, 2025.
