The Hollywood reporter has reported that Dev Patel is set to direct, star in, and write an upcoming period action film titled The Peasant. Patel will once again work with production company Thunder Road, which also produced his action film Monkey Man.
“Set in the 1300s, it centers on a shepherd who embarks on a rage-fueled campaign against a group of mercenary knights who ransacked his community, revealing himself to be more than he seems,” reads the film’s logline.
