Los Angeles band Hysteria, the project of bandleader Dakota Cosgrove, is excited to share their new single, “Angela,” available everywhere now. A demanding melody cuts through guitars that both twinkle and scrape, inching towards collapse—finding reprieve in huge and powerful choruses with drums that kick the listener around like a bloody game of soccer. Today’s release sees the group charging forth with matter-of-fact musings and raw tones, fitting tender honesty into spaces between raucous riffs. Picking up right where they left off, embracing their love of early-aughts pop rock with their own modern twist. The song was produced by Photographic Memory, who contributes to bands like Wisp, Jane Remover and more.
“Every moment is both an ascension and a decline, leaving you face down on the ground,” Dakota explains. “Angela is the year of your life you want to erase, a desperate cry to be loved, that sick desire to be broken and put back together. Angela is the girl who you let destroy you.”

2070, Los Angeles’ hardest working band, is excited to share Big Blue, their Danger Collective Records debut, available everywhere now. The fourteen-track record feels like a slow exhale—an album that trades muddled guitars for sonic clarity without losing the band’s emotional weight. Big Blue drifts inward, letting acoustic warmth, hazy synths, and soft rhythms carry its most vulnerable moments. Patient and immersive, every sound lingers like a memory, leading listeners into the world of 2070.

Los Angeles via Dallas, TX indie art rock five-piece About You shares textural, rich debut album The Lighthouse, The Storm out now.
The Lighthouse, The Storm, produced by Jeff Saenz, was born from demos dating back to 2019. About halfway through recording at Saenz’s Dallas studio Modern Electric in 2021, Saenz suffered a near-fatal accident that led to the amputation of both his hands. Between FaceTime calls and surgeries, the pair continued to create with deep gratitude and a newfound love for each other and life.
On the album, bandleader Max Poscente shares, “In a way, there’s the music we recorded before and after the accident — and to me, they each have their own distinct feeling. While some songs were adaptations of stories people sent in (which is part of why we’re called About You), every song also dealt with deeply personal material. Packed with vulnerability and longing, this album became a recovery vessel for both Jeff and me. Over the next five years, we poured our hearts and souls into it.”
The album boasts an accomplished list of musicians including Ian Chang (drums – Son Lux and Moses Sumney), Scott Lee (bass – Texas Gentlemen, Ryan Bingham), Jason Burt (keys, drums programming – Leon Bridges, producer extraordinaire), McKenzie Smith (drums – St. Vincent, Midlake), Scott Tixier (string composer – Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Adele, Hans Zimmer, Beyoncé, Jon Batiste), and Bradley Barteau (Snooper).
Written when Poscente was just 21 and living in Boston, “Sunny” was born out of long winters and suicidal ideation. It sees the musician find hope as it blends raw intimacy, the textural pulse of trip hop, and flashes of hyperpop emotion. Its glitchy drum textures and swelling synths cradle Poscente’s voice as it reaches for warmth beyond despair.

Fast-rising Country newcomer Elizabeth Nichols leans into bad decisions with today’s release of her new single “Sweet Cigarette,” available now via PULSE Records. Produced by Mike Robinson, the reflective ballad is a rare solo write that finds Nichols running back to bad habits, even when the right choice is looking her straight in the eye. As the saying goes, “admitting you have a problem is the first step to recovery,” with that in mind, the accompanying music video which premiered at 11amCT sees her attempting to correct the problem at a support group…or so it may seem. Stay tuned to the end to find out.

Las Vegas–born and raised, Sylvaner grew up inside an eclectic musical world. With a father who ran several record stores and parents with wide-ranging taste, his childhood was soundtracked by whatever vinyl happened to pass through the house. Music became his first language and his main way of connecting with people. “Sharing a good song has always been a huge form of communication for me,” he says. That instinct eventually carried him from engineering other artists to shaping a sound of his own.
His new single “Plastic Love” marks a bold shift into darker, more dance-driven territory. The track began life as a brooding, atmospheric Chicago house-inspired demo, something he describes as sounding “like you were in the bathroom while the club was going on outside.” After finishing most of his album, Sylvaner realised there was nothing to move to, and reworked the song with a new sense of groove and momentum. Built on a steady beat, groovy bass, ethereal vocals, and layered, textural synths, “Plastic Love” lands as a conflicted pop episode that balances desire with emotional absence. “I need a plastic love is the thesis of the lyrical content,” he explains. “It came from a place where I didn’t want to settle with someone, but I still wanted my fun. I knew I wasn’t alone in feeling that, especially growing up in Las Vegas. But I also acknowledge the sacrifice and the emptiness in that choice.”

Ruti (they/them), the emerging singer-songwriter from London via Essex returns with two striking new reworks of their single ‘Monster’, reimagined by Mala and rising UK electronic composers Larimae. Edmonton, AB singer-songwriter Ellie Heath returns with “Too Old (For This Shit),” a witty, uplifting indie pop anthem that leans into the absurdity of aging without ever feeling like a grown-up. Playful yet pointed, the track captures the familiar feeling of being a kid in adult clothes; paying bills, following rules, and quietly wondering when adulthood is supposed to click into place.
“At its core, the song is about aging with humour,” Heath explains. “Feeling like a kid wearing adult clothes, navigating expectations, responsibilities, and the slow realization that nobody ever really tells you when you’ve ‘arrived.'”
Co-written and produced alongside Hawksley Workman and Tristan Konkle of Tapes In Motion, “Too Old (For This Shit)” balances joyful, child-like production with a dry, deadpan vocal delivery that gently pokes fun at the seriousness we’re told to adopt with age. Whistles, chorus layers, and playful textures bring a children’s song sensibility, while a tight rhythm section keeps the track grounded and cool.

Jennie Arnau’s new album, A Rising Tide, is filled with themes of resilience and determination. Throughout the 14 songs, the Americana/folk artist shares her feelings on love, fear, and life in general, offering hope to her listeners as she finds strength in their support.
While much of the album finds Arnau processing losing her mother to dementia, an outlier is “Young and Alone,” which touches on a tragedy experienced far too often in the US: a school shooting.
“I’m not sure what made me write ‘Young and Alone’ – I think it came from heartbreak,” Arnau says, sharing that turning on the TV during a break from writing and seeing coverage of the shooting in Uvalde pushed her to finish the song. “Sometimes I feel helpless, and these violent events feel never-ending… almost like the most horrific Groundhog Day, where more and more people are crushed and broken.”
