The official trailer has just been released for The Miniature Wife, a twisted new dramedy starring Elizabeth Banks (The Hunger Games, Pitch Perfect, The Better Sister) and Matthew Macfadyen (Succession, Deadpool & Wolverine). The 10-episode series is set to premiere exclusively on Stan in April.
Adapted from the acclaimed short story by Manuel Gonzales, The Miniature Wife is a sharp, darkly comedic exploration of marital power dynamics. It follows a couple—Lindy (Banks) and Les (Macfadyen)—whose already strained relationship faces an extreme crisis when a technological mishap dramatically shrinks one of them, flipping their dynamic upside down in absurd and hilarious ways.
The ensemble cast includes standout Australian talent Ronny Chieng (The Daily Show, Crazy Rich Asians), alongside Zoe Lister-Jones (New Girl, Life in Pieces), Sofia Rosinsky (Paper Girls), O-T Fagbenle (The Handmaid’s Tale, Presumed Innocent), Sian Clifford (Fleabag), Aasif Mandvi (Evil), Rong Fu (Star Trek: Strange New Worlds), and Tricia Black (Pretty Hard Cases).
Produced as a Stan Original by Media Res (the team behind The Morning Show and Pachinko), the series is created, written, and executive produced by showrunners Jennifer Ames and Steve Turner (Boardwalk Empire, Goliath). It is directed and executive produced by Greg Mottola (Superbad). Additional executive producers include Michael Ellenberg and Lindsey Springer for Media Res, Michael Aguilar (Kidding), and Suzanne Heathcote (Killing Eve). Banks and Macfadyen also serve as executive producers. The series is distributed internationally by Sony Pictures Television.
All 10 episodes drop at once on Friday, April 10—only on Stan. Get ready for a wild, high-concept ride through love, control, and one very tiny relationship crisis!
