First Teaser Arrives For ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 4’

Paramount Pictures has announced an exciting update about its upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog movie, the next chapter in the highly successful action-adventure franchise, which has grossed over $1.2 billion worldwide. In a newly released video, the studio confirmed that Jim Carrey will reprise his role as the villainous Dr. Robotnik. They also revealed the official logo for Sonic the Hedgehog 4, featuring a design that hints at new characters—specifically, Kristen Bell’s character, Amy Rose, showcased with a blue and pink motif. Bell, known for her role in Frozen, will voice Amy, a beloved fan-favorite character described as a hammer-wielding, anthropomorphic pink hedgehog.

Directed by Jeff Fowler, Sonic the Hedgehog 4 is produced by Neal H. Moritz, Toby Ascher, and Toru Nakahara, and is based on Sega’s iconic video game series. The film will bring back familiar cast members, including Ben Schwartz as Sonic, Idris Elba as Knuckles, Keanu Reeves as Shadow, James Marsden as Tom, Tika Sumpter as Maddie, Colleen O’Shaughnessey as Tails, and Lee Majdoub as Agent Stone. While specific plot details remain under wraps, the film will also introduce new characters played by Ben Kingsley, Matt Berry, Nick Offerman, and Richard Ayoade.

The release date for Sonic the Hedgehog 4 is set for March 19, 2027. Currently, there are no direct competitors opening at the same time, but the film will debut alongside other high-profile releases such as Michael B. Jordan’s The Thomas Crown Affair, Disney’s Gatto, Scarlett Johansson’s The Exorcist: Deceiver, Legendary’s Godzilla x Kong: Supernova, and Mel Gibson’s The Resurrection of the Christ.
