New set photos from The Last of Us Season 3 have provided fans with their first look at key characters Abby and Lev in action. The images and a brief video clip show actors Kaitlyn Dever and Kyriana Kratter filming a tense rooftop scene, giving an early taste of the show’s evolving storyline.
The photos depict Kaitlyn Dever, who portrays Abby, alongside Kyriana Kratter as Lev, both fully dressed in costume while filming on a rooftop with a relatively small crew. The scene appears to be a quieter, character-focused moment, although specific plot details are still being kept under wraps. Production for Season 3 began in March 2026 and is expected to continue throughout the year. Earlier set photos hinted at expansive environments, including what many believe to be the Seraphites’ island, Haven. The presence of blue screens and boats in previous leaks has fueled speculation about increased world-building in the upcoming season.
Additionally, this new batch of set photos and footage aligns with a narrative shift expected in Season 3. The season is reportedly centered around Abby, following the storyline of The Last of Us Part II video game. The previous season concluded on a cliffhanger, leaving Ellie’s future uncertain after her intense encounter with Abby. Kaitlyn Dever will lead the season from Abby’s perspective, with Bella Ramsey and Isabela Merced returning as well. The cast also includes Jason Ritter, Patrick Wilson, and Clea DuVall, with Jorge Lendeborg Jr. cast as Manny. Behind the scenes, Craig Mazin will take over as the sole creative lead, following Neil Druckmann’s reduced role in writing and directing.
With filming underway and a release anticipated in 2027, the latest set photos offer a first glimpse of how the story might expand in Season 3.
