Trailer: Peacock Unveils New Crime Thriller Series “M.I.A.” Starring Cary Elwes

Peacock has released the official trailer for its upcoming crime drama thriller, M.I.A., featuring The Princess Bride star Cary Elwes. The nine-episode series is set to premiere exclusively on Peacock starting May 7, 2026.

The series follows Etta Tiger Jonze, a restless young woman living in the Florida Keys who dreams of a glamorous life in Miami. However, her world is turned upside down when her family’s drug-running operation is shattered by tragedy. As she navigates Miami’s neon-lit underworld, Etta embarks on a dangerous quest for vengeance, determined to confront those responsible for her family’s demise.

The official synopsis describes Etta as the sole survivor of an attack on her family. She adopts a new identity and sets out to avenge her loved ones against twelve men implicated in the tragedy. The trailer teases a suspenseful journey filled with tense sequences, featuring Cary Elwes as a detective racing to find her before others do.

Created, written, and executive-produced by Bill Dubuque (Ozark), M.I.A. boasts an ensemble cast that includes Shannon Gisela, Danay Garcia, Brittany Adebumola, Dylan Jackson, Alberto Guerra, Maurice Compte, Gerardo Celasco, and Marta Milans. Guest stars include Edward James Olmos, Billy Burke, Sonia Braga, Loretta Devine, Tovah Feldshuh, Tyler Perez, Paul Ben-Victor, and David Denman.

The series is helmed by showrunner Karen Campbell and director Alethea Jones, with additional direction from Gwyneth Horder-Payton, Marizee Almas, Ben Semanoff, and John Dahl. The creative team also features writers Debra Moore Muñoz, David Paul Francis, Jeff Augustin, Christina Piña, and Felicia Hilario. M.I.A. is produced by MRC.
