Global girl group KATSEYE are giving fans a different perspective on their evolving sound with the release of “Unloveu,” a heartfelt new single that trades high-energy pop for a more intimate exploration of heartbreak, healing and learning to let go.
Released digitally on October 14, 2026, “Unloveu” was previously available as a bonus track on select physical editions of the group’s third EP, WILD. Its arrival on streaming platforms now gives a wider audience the opportunity to discover one of the project’s more emotionally reflective songs.
Written and co-produced by KATSEYE member Lara Raj alongside acclaimed songwriters Amy Allen and Ross Golan, the track also represents a significant creative milestone for the group. Lara’s contribution places her songwriting and production talents at the forefront, adding a more personal dimension to KATSEYE’s musical identity.
At its heart, “Unloveu” explores the gradual process of moving on from someone who once held an important place in your life. Rather than focusing solely on the immediate pain of a breakup, the song reflects on the quieter realisation that feelings which once seemed impossible to escape can eventually begin to fade. It captures the complicated space between remembering what a relationship meant and recognising that it is time to move forward.
Musically, the single offers a noticeable contrast to the energetic, dance-driven material that has helped define KATSEYE’s recent releases. Restrained vocals, layered harmonies and a more subdued atmosphere allow the members’ vocal performances to take centre stage, demonstrating a different side of the group’s versatility. Rather than relying on an explosive pop production, “Unloveu” finds its strength in its emotional restraint.
The accompanying black-and-white visualiser reinforces that reflective mood. Featuring the members performing in a spacious, minimalist setting, the visuals gradually strip away the group’s presence until a solitary chair remains. The understated imagery mirrors the song’s themes of absence, acceptance and closure, allowing the emotional message to speak for itself.
The release arrives during an important period for KATSEYE, whose WILD EP debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, marking a major achievement in the group’s growing international profile. With “Unloveu,” the group continues to expand beyond its bold, performance-driven pop identity, showing that its appeal can also be found in quieter, more vulnerable moments.
For fans who previously encountered “Unloveu” only through limited physical editions of WILD, the digital release is an opportunity to revisit a track that offers a more intimate connection with the group. For new listeners, it provides another entry point into KATSEYE’s expanding catalogue and highlights the creative contributions of its members.
With “Unloveu,” KATSEYE remind listeners that moving forward does not always require a dramatic goodbye. Sometimes, letting go happens gradually — one feeling, one memory and one step at a time.
