Imogen Poots (The Chronology of Water) and John Reynolds (Seekers of Infinite Love) have been cast as the leads in Prime Video’s upcoming series “Sex Criminals.” This eight-episode adaptation is based on the popular comic title from Image Comics and is produced by Emily V. Gordon, Kumail Nanjiani, Tze Chun, LuckyChap, and Amazon MGM Studios.
The series, co-created by Gordon, Nanjiani, and Chun, follows Suze (played by Poots), a seemingly ordinary girl with an extraordinary power: whenever she has sex, she stops time. One night, she meets Jon (Reynolds), who shares her unique gift. Together, they embark on a daring adventure—robbing banks while their powers are active. Nanjiani, who will also appear in the series, joins as a cast member and serves as a showrunner alongside Gordon and Chun. The series is executive produced by Emily V. Gordon, Kumail Nanjiani, Tze Chun, Dani Melia (via Winter Coat Films), and LuckyChap’s Dani Gorin, with Matt Fraction and Chip Zdarsky, the creators of the original comic, also credited as executive producers. Louie Hayes from LuckyChap is a producer.
Imogen Poots most recently starred in the films The Chronology of Water, All Of You, and Hedda. She is set to portray Gloria Swanson in Kennedy and will star opposite Matt Smith in The Salamander Lives Twice. Poots is represented by WME, Entertainment 360, B-Side, and Sloane, Offer, Weber & Dern.
John Reynolds was recently seen in Seekers of Infinite Love and guest-starred in the series Adults. He is represented by CAA, Entertainment 360, and Felker McGinnis & Ryan.
