Indie Drama “Nice Eggs” Wraps New Jersey Shoot, Stars Jane Krakowski & Angourie Rice

Jane Krakowski (30 Rock) and Angourie Rice (The Last Thing He Told Me) have completed filming in New Jersey for Nice Eggs, an indie coming-of-age drama that marks Amanda Lipitz’s debut as a narrative feature director.

Written by Sandi Farkas, who also collaborated with Lipitz on the scripted podcast MotherhackerNice Eggs tells the story of a young woman growing up amid a turbulent relationship with her loving yet unpredictable mother. The film explores her struggle to break free from a cycle of broken family bonds and discover her own voice.

Amanda Lipitz shared, “NICE EGGS delves into themes I often explore as a filmmaker: the intricate ties between mothers and daughters, the unseen legacies passed down through generations, and how early life experiences shape us.” Angourie Rice stars as Cori Mulligan, a girl whose presence commands attention. Cori faces the challenges of small-town life, constrained by limiting men, an unprotective mother, and her ambition to become a writer. Beneath the surface, she harbors a depth she desperately wants others to see.

Jane Krakowski portrays Ellen, Cori’s mother, a charismatic and bold woman whose own dreams of stardom faded away. Haunted by psychological struggles, Ellen’s inner demons disrupt her relationships, making her a tragic figure who could have been a guiding force for her daughters if only she could overcome her own obstacles.
