The upcoming horror-thriller Goody Goody has officially announced its release date on Shudder, accompanied by a new batch of photos teasing the unsettling story. Inspired by psychological horror classics such as The Shining (1980) and Rosemary’s Baby (1968), the film promises an eerie tale centered on an increasingly disturbing home birth.
Written and directed by Raymond Creamer, Goody Goody will premiere exclusively on Shudder on September 18, 2026. Ahead of its streaming debut, the film will receive a special screening at Scary Movies XIV, presented by Film at Lincoln Center, on August 14, 2026. Creamer will participate in a post-screening Q&A alongside costume designer Tatiana Valentin.
The film follows expecting parents and their midwife as they endure a lengthy home birth during a fierce blizzard. What initially feels like a safe and comforting environment gradually turns sinister as the family begins to suspect that something is terribly wrong. With the storm trapping them inside, increasingly frightening complications threaten to turn the birth into a nightmare.
A second screening is also scheduled for August 17, 2026, at 9 p.m. at the Walter Reade Theater in New York. Creamer will introduce the film before the screening.
Running approximately 80 minutes, Goody Goody is produced by Harrison Rothman, Steven Schneider, and Keely Kemp. The cast includes Samantha Robinson, Zoe Renee, Colby Hollman, and Colleen Foy, with Robinson portraying the titular character, Goody. Robinson is known for films including The Love Witch (2016), Sugar Daddies (2014), Cam (2018), and Hauntology (2024).
Creamer drew on his longstanding fascination with ghost stories and folklore when developing the film. His interest in these traditions has strongly influenced his approach to filmmaking, giving Goody Goody the atmosphere of an old-fashioned supernatural tale.
Speaking about the project, Creamer explained that he wanted the movie to have the feeling of a campfire story or a storybook. He also praised the film’s cast and described working with Shudder as a dream come true, while encouraging horror fans to create a cozy, candlelit atmosphere when watching the movie.
With its wintry setting, supernatural undertones, and psychological horror influences, Goody Goody is shaping up to be an intriguing addition to Shudder’s 2026 horror lineup.
