JISOO is stepping into the spotlight in a whole new way as she teams up with London-based fashion house self-portrait for an imaginative new campaign celebrating fashion, performance and the art of transformation.

Titled “Portraits of a Screen Star,” the series presents JISOO as the leading character in a collection of imagined audition tapes, with each instalment introducing a completely different persona. Shot in Seoul by photographer and filmmaker Oliver Hadlee Pearch, the campaign allows the BLACKPINK star to explore four distinct cinematic characters, each revealing another side of her artistry.

The second character to arrive is “The Muse,” portraying JISOO as elegant, magnetic and perhaps a little misunderstood. For the role, she wears a pale pink satin slip dress finished with delicate feather trim, creating a soft yet striking visual identity that perfectly complements the character.

For JISOO, the project offered an opportunity to move beyond familiar territory and experiment with different approaches to performance.

“I was so excited to star in this new series of short films with Han and self-portrait,” JISOO said. “It allowed me to try something completely new and each character I played required something different from me.”

The singer and actress explained that fashion became an important part of discovering the personalities behind each character, with the changing wardrobe helping her find subtle differences in each performance.

She added that working closely with self-portrait founder Han Chong allowed them to collaborate on the finer details of every role, from the character’s personality to the nuances of her performance.

Having worn self-portrait designs for years, JISOO also reflected on the confidence the brand’s clothing gives her.

“I have worn self-portrait for many years and the pieces make me feel like I can do anything,” she said. “This time, they let me dream that I could be anyone.”

With four characters at the heart of “Portraits of a Screen Star,” the campaign promises a different side of JISOO with every release. Each persona has been given its own distinctive personality, wardrobe and visual language, transforming the campaign into something closer to a series of miniature cinematic performances than a traditional fashion shoot.

Following the arrival of “The Muse,” the remaining characters will be unveiled throughout September, giving fans the chance to see JISOO continue her transformation into a series of entirely different screen personalities.
