Global superstar Becky G has earned a Latin GRAMMY nomination for Song of the Year for “Mi Gran Amor,” her powerful collaboration with legendary guitarist Carlos Santana. The recognition highlights the deeply personal song’s celebration of Latino identity, resilience and the experiences of immigrant families in the United States.
Released in May, “Mi Gran Amor” brings together two generations of Mexican and Mexican-American artistry. The song draws inspiration from the stories, sacrifices and everyday experiences of Latino families across the country, reflecting the community’s enduring contributions to American culture and society.
Becky G, Carlos Santana, Edgar Barrera, Spreadlof, CASTA and Daniel Rondón share writing credits on the track, which was produced by Barrera and Santana. Through its lyrics and storytelling, “Mi Gran Amor” captures the strength, challenges and hopes that have shaped generations of Latino families.
The song’s message is further explored in its official music video, filmed in Los Angeles and Las Vegas. Featuring scenes from everyday life, the visual highlights the cultural and socioeconomic impact of the Latino community while also incorporating footage of Becky speaking to 450 students at UC Santa Cruz’s annual Chicanx/Latinx Year-End Celebration.
The Latin GRAMMY nomination follows the release of Becky G’s fifth studio album, BARAJA BENDITA, a 17-track project that represents one of the most personal and creatively ambitious chapters of her career.
Since the album’s release, Becky has continued to make an impact across music, fashion and culture. Her recent highlights include an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and a busy New York Fashion Week schedule, where she attended the CFDA NYFW Opening Cocktail Party and Grace Ling’s SS27 runway show.
