Amy Poehler is heading back to live-action television with Dig, a new Peacock comedy series that reunites the beloved Parks and Recreation star with co-creator Mike Schur. The latest trailer offers a glimpse at the archaeological adventure, which promises plenty of humour, unexpected discoveries and chaos.

Set at an archaeological excavation site in Greece, Dig follows a team of archaeologists and college students whose work takes an extraordinary turn after they uncover a rare artefact. What begins as an ordinary summer at the dig site quickly becomes an adventure that could change everything.

Poehler stars as Elise, one of the archaeologists at the centre of the story. The series is adapted from Kate Myers’ bestselling novel Excavations and brings together workplace comedy, mystery and adventure in a fresh setting.

The ensemble cast includes Hugh Laurie as Neville, an archaeology-loving professor, alongside Geraldine Viswanathan as Dylan, Antonia Thomas as Clare and Fina Strazza as Patty. Additional cast members include Kayvan Novak, Jon Pointing, Bonita Friedericy, Jason Mantzoukas, Brennan Lee Mulligan, Noma Dumezweni, Max Greenfield and Dan Bucatinsky.

The series marks another collaboration between Poehler and Schur, who previously worked together on the acclaimed sitcom Parks and Recreation. Their reunion sees the pair co-writing the pilot, with Schur serving as showrunner and both contributing as executive producers.

J.J. Philbin is also attached as a writer and executive producer, with Kate Myers serving as a co-executive producer. The series is produced by Universal Television.

Dig will premiere on Peacock on November 23, 2026, with all 10 episodes arriving on the same day.

With an archaeological mystery, an ensemble cast and the creative team behind one of television’s most beloved comedies, Dig looks set to deliver a new adventure for fans of Poehler’s distinctive comedic style.
