Oscar-nominated actor Jeremy Renner is gearing up for another action-packed role in 12 Bullets, an upcoming crime thriller that will see him take on London’s ruthless criminal gangs.
The film is being developed by John Wick producer Thunder Road and UK broadcaster Sky, owned by Comcast. International sales will be launched by Legendary label 193 ahead of next week’s American Film Market (AFM) in Los Angeles.
In 12 Bullets, Renner plays a mysterious American who finds himself caught in the middle of a violent conflict between rival gangs across London’s supposedly gun-free streets. Armed with just one firearm and twelve bullets, he must fight his way through the criminal underworld, making every shot count.
The film will be directed by Sean Ellis, known for Anthropoid, from a screenplay written by Tim Walker.
Producers Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee will oversee the project for Thunder Road. Developed in partnership with Sky, the film is set to be released as a Sky Original in the UK and Ireland, while CAA Media Finance will handle North American rights.
The project also marks another collaboration between Renner and Thunder Road, following their previous work together on The Town and Wind River. It also reunites Thunder Road with Patrick Wachsberger of 193, who previously handled international sales for several of the production company’s acclaimed titles, including Sicario, John Wick and The Surgeon.
