Australia Comes To Life With Dali Land and Surrealist Salon

From 18 January until 17 February 2019, Perth, Western Australia’s Metro City will become a four-level exhibition dedicated to surrealist Salvador Dali with the prestigious Dali Land. The exhibition will feature more than 200 of Dali’s works, from drawings, sculptures and photography to film, graphics and virtual reality. The entertainment won’t stop there though, The Surrealist Salon located at the rooftop bar offers nightly performances. Running from 10pm til 5am, Mysteria Maxima Media presents a selection of top local and touring bands, DJs, VJs, performance artists, burlesque acts, comedians and oddities.

These two events are the highlight of Perth’s Annual Fringe Festival, and I was lucky enough to attend the opening night, called The Surrealist Ball. It was an exclusive, black-tie, cocktail-style event and I was one of the many people in the world to experience Dali Land. Including full access to all exhibition areas, plus food, wine, art, music and so much more. I was blown away by this event, and I didn’t seem to be the only one who was completely immersed in this surreal world.

Other highlights set to be included over the month is a second exhibition called Unconscious Contemporary, which showcases works from both early surrealist artists, as well as ‘Dada Cinema’, which’ll screen surrealist films. A lineup of live events and performances will also make their presence, including a gig by UK pop singer Lily Allen, theatrical show ‘Dali After Dark’ by Briefs, plus so much more.

Legendary British singer Lily Allen will descend into Perth during Dali Land for one night only on 12 February courtesy of Frontier Touring. Fresh from the June release of her brilliant fourth record “No Shame”, the pop star will perform huge sets in a show for fans at Dali Land. For those who wish to continue the party late into the next morning, Mysteria Maxima Media present the Surrealist Salon, which will unleash nightly from 10:00pm to 5:00am. Taking over the Metro City roof top, the Salon Bar will not only boast some of Perth’s best views, but will accommodate your nightly desires.
