Pop Icon Matthew John Kurz Returns With “In Case You Miss Me”

Things right now for independent artist Matthew John Kurz are really heating up. His recent single “I Wanna Be That Guy” not only featured on Spotify’s ‘Fresh Finds’ and ‘Viral 50’ playlists it also managed to notch up over 100k in plays on the streaming service alone, an incredible number. Following the success of this single Kurz also managed to team up with DJ’s Robotaki and Manila Killa for the song “I Want You”,  which was an absolute beauty of an electronic production with Kurz pop dipped vocals.

The Miami based artist also had another smash hit under his belt earlier this year called “Words”, which showed similarities to a Charlie Puth crossed with the 1975 based pop track but contains all the lyrical brilliance and catchy melodies that Kurz always seems to be able to manifest. Now Matthew Kurz is yet again set to light the pop charts on fire with a brand new single that was released on October 28th called “In Case You Miss Me”. Written and produced entirely by Matthew himself, the song tells an unapologetic story of waiting for an ex lover to return. The song begins with an acoustic guitar before heading into an pop synth laced hook.

So how did Matthew Kurz write and produce such a amazing song? “This has been the most satisfying song I’ve written yet. Starting out as a voice memo idea  I jumped out of the shower to record, to putting the final touches on the mix. There’s no greater feeling than being able to share something you’ve put so much time and love into.”, says Matthew. “I think creating these songs from scratch is the most honest representation of myself. It’s a peek inside my head - there’s a lot going on. You put it down on paper and hope for the best.”

Driven by his love for music, there is no doubt we can keep expecting big things emerging out of this independent artists home studio in Miami, FL. With out a doubt Kurz could be one of the most talented unsigned artists I’ve ever come across, as he is probably one of the few that creates all aspects of his own music, from the very first chords to all the vocals. I can honestly say Matthew Kurz is a musical genius. If you haven’t heard his stuff, do yourself a favor and go checkout out his YouTube channel or check him out on Spotify you won’t be disappointed.

“In Case You Miss Me” is out now.
