“Dear Detroit” is the debut single from Callaghan Belle. Born and raised in Detroit, she began writing music at eight years old and signed a record deal with Ken Caillat by the time she was in high school. A songwriter, producer, and actor, she’s written songs for R&B artist JoJo and Grammy winner Colbie Caillat, with tracks featured on Netflix’s “Extinction” and STX Entertainment’s “Bye Bye Man” to name a few. On her debut single, “Dear Detroit,” Callaghan Belle crafts an introspective narrative about the pressure of trying to fit into a new city and the solitude of leaving the familiar behind. Inspired by a meeting in which she was encouraged to create an edgy persona to find success as an artist, Belle instead turned to what she knew best; writing a bittersweet urban-pop banger wrapped in a contemplative storytelling style.
