INsiders Guide: Van Bellman, Izzy Thomas, Samurai Champs and Dipo

American Authors guitarist Van Bellman has released his new single called “All This Time”. It details a series of broken romances, backed by Bellman’s warm vocals and vibrant sounds. This is the third single to be released from Van Bellman who has received critical acclaim from such outlets as Billboard, Culture Collide, Alt Press and Sirius XM. Before starting Van Bellman last year, singer/guitarist Zac Taylor was writing and producing songs with other bands and artists.

“I initially wrote ‘All This Time’ for Connell Cruise, who was label mates with my other band American Authors on Island Records a couple years ago, but has since moved back to South Africa where he just won Dancing With the Stars. But I always loved this song and I didn’t want it to fall through the cracks. I’m mainly a guitarist but I love writing on piano because I can come across some happy accidents. That’s where the piano riff came from: a toy piano gathering dust in the corner of Mission Sound studio with one broken key, which you can hear in the track if you listen closely. I composed the string section digitally and had my friends Marie Kim (currently playing keys for Mitski) and Andy Baldwin (acclaimed mixing engineer for Björk, Cat Power, St Lucia, yours truly) replace it with actual cello and violin, which is truly a sonic treat in today’s digital age.”

Van Bellman has hit the ground running since its inception less than a year ago and shows no signs of slowing down.“All This Time” will be available everywhere the week of Valentine’s Day.

London based artist Izzy Thomas delivers a fresh sound of alt pop/rock, blended by powerhouse blues vocals and a fusion of punchy hip hop beats. She’s just released a brand new single via Billboard called “Trouble (Pull That Trigger)”, which is a anthem about self-worth and self-respect. This feisty female is bringing back rock ’n’ roll, but in her own unique way combing various elements and genre’s into her sound. As a young girl, Thomas was inspired by the records of Queen and Michael Jackson, singing and playing guitar to songs of theirs. It wasn’t until she started putting top lines to hip hop artists tracks, then working with producers who introduced her to mixing the beats with rock, that she truly discovered her sound. She has since been co-writing with various producers and songwriters, gracing audiences worldwide with her music. “Trouble (Pull That Trigger)” is a powerful single which Thomas reveals; “This track is a message now as an experienced artist, saying whatever doesn’t kill me, better run! Although it came from that particular place for me, I would say it is an anthem for anyone with a message to sing”.
