P!nk unveiled the brand new title track featuring Khalid from her upcoming eighth studio album, “Hurts 2B Human”, on Monday (April 22). The Teddy Geiger-penned tune follows lead single “Walk Me Home,” “Hustle” and the Cash Cash-assisted “Can We Pretend” in the lead-up to the album’s release on April 26th via RCA. Khalid, who performed at Coachella over the weekend, is gearing up to hit the road on his arena tour, which kicks off June 20 in Phoenix and runs through Aug. 17 in Miami.
In a chat with Zane Lowe on his “World Record” radio show, Pink chatted about what it was like to work with Khalid;
“I love everything about him. I met him for the first time at the MTV Awards a couple of years ago. He has the greatest smile you’d ever wanna see. He’s just super genuine and super excited,” she said. “’Hurts 2B Human’ is about the human experience. I’m a woman, Khalid is a man. He has his own experiences. He’s African American, I’m Jewish. The point is, it’s all about your village. It’s all about your people, and the circle you create around you to get through all the bulls**t in this world. That’s where the song came from… We went into the studio together and it was just classic Khalid and he was like, ‘Dude, my mom loves you.’ and I’m like ‘Oh cool, great! Do that’s why you’re here?’ He goes, ‘My mom wanted to tell you, aside from me, you’re her favourite person.’ And I’m like you know what? I’m into that I’ll take that.”
