INsiders Guide: New Politics, Casii Stephan, Almost Owen and Snotty Nose Rez Kids

Alternative rock band, New Politics have just released their new single “Comeback Kid.” The lead singer David Boyd says, “Writing comeback kid couldn’t have come at a more perfect time for us. I feel the message of the song might not be anything new, it’s something we’ve all heard before. But it’s a reminder and a truth everyone needs in their life. If you’re playing a game, if you’re in a relationship or hustling at work, life is a roller coaster of wins and losses, but you must maintain the will and the courage to bounce back.”

Consisting of Danish-born, David Boyd [lead vocals, guitar] and Søren Hansen[bass, guitar, keys, vocals], as well as NY native Louis Vecchio [drums] – New Politics exploded onto the scene with their smash hit “Harlem,” earning over 31 million Spotify streams and reaching the top 5 at Alternative Radio. New Politics has since released four studio albums featuring a slew of hit singles, including “Everywhere I Go” and “Tonight You’re Perfect,” securing major syncs on multiple trailers for Frozen, placements on America’s Got Talent, ESPN, and commercial spots for the likes of Bud Light, Microsoft, Doritos, and more.

The band has also made the full late night circuit, performing on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Late Night with Seth Meyers and CONAN.  They’ve played sold-out shows around the world, touring with everyone from Pink and Fall Out Boy to Paramore, 30 Seconds to Mars, Panic At The Disco, Dirty Heads, Twenty-One Pilots and 311. Their last album Lost In Translation (released last fall) features the single, “One Of Us,” which reached #10 on the Alternative Radio chart and has accrued millions of streams.

Tulsa-based, soul/indi rock artist, Casii Stephan drops her video, “Letters,”  which addressed the pains of modern dating/relationships and premiered on Substream Magazine. The video is for Stephan’s self-produced track “Letters,” which received accolades from idobi radio, B Sides and Badlands, Tulsa World, Tulsa People, and more, showcasing Stephan’s “an incredibly dynamic performance.” (Atwood Magazine) Stephan was just nominated for Independent Music Awards 2019 for Best Acoustic Song – “When Winter Comes- Live” and  Best Website – casiistephan.com.

Snooty Nose Rez Kids bring an aggressive and assertive energy that imitates the way society portrays indigenous people and POC across turtle island. Their ancestors were stereotyped as savages and they are often looked at the pissed off generation who haven’t gotten over what colonization has done to their lands and people. Through a stylish delivery, they assert themselves as the father 7th Generation and let the world know they aren’t changing for anyone. The future is theirs.
