Taylor Swift dropped her highly anticipated “Lover” remix and revealed the special guest; her former tour mate Shawn Mendes. Improving on one of Taylor Swift’s most intimate songs, Shawn Mendes was more than up to the task when his old pal Taylor asked him to give the title track to her “Lover” album a remix in the form of a new verse and some additions to the swaying song’s chorus. Mendes took to his twitter account to thank the pop songstress;

Mendes began collaborating with Swift as an opening act during her 2015 “1989” World Tour. Earlier this year, he sang her praises in a write-up for Time 100’s Most Influential People list.

She’s the master of putting the perfect amount of thought into not overthinking, and that’s why her music connects so well.”
