Casii Stephan is a soul pop/rock artist hailing from Minnesota. Now based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the impassioned songstress evokes subtle vibrato notes and roller-coaster-like melodies, which immediately grab the listener, while her emotional lyrics share intimate stories. She has been compared to the likes of Florence Welch, Fiona Apple and Carole King, as her vocal timbre possesses a full and warm quality.

Stephan’s voice is fierce and fearless, but this was not always the case. She grew up shy and afraid of her voice until she started writing songs on the family piano in South St. Paul when she was 16. In music, she discovered something extraordinary that allowed her to transcend everyday life and find a deeper sense of self. Stephan moved to Tulsa in 2014 with the intent to give up her pursuit of a music career, however with a little encouragement from a friend, she continued her journey and started releasing music. Her songs were promptly applauded by critics and have since been racking up a number of awards, as well as garnering acclaim from media and fans across the globe.

An underlying theme throughout Stephan’s music is hope, she explains, “Its such a cliched word and yet there are so many layers to it. Hope keeps us alive. It keeps us moving. But it also feels flighty some days like a pixie that does what it wants. But it’s not a pixie. It’s more like the air we breathe. Some days it’s presence is stronger than we realize and some days we forget in our day-to-day lives that it’s there… keeping us moving forward”. Her music combines her love for the storytelling elements of Disney ballads and the bold, brilliance of The White Stripes, as well as the soul-wrenching R&B melodies of H.E.R.

Casii Stephan has seen success both obtaining and being nominated for multiple awards from the likes of Independent Music Awards, Hollywood Music in Media Awards and USA Songwriting Competition to name a few. She also heads a female fronted festival entitled MisFEST in Tulsa, that has gained recognition both locally and nationally. The singer-songwriter is set to perform at Sundance Festival and was also recently profiled in Billboard. Continuing to craft real, authentic, soulful music with the intention to help others feel a little less alone, Casii Stephan is releasing “Here Comes the Light” is out now.

Brother. is an indie alternative band based out of Salt Lake City, Utah. Bringing together an eclectic sound of energetic bass lines, catchy soundscapes and heavy-laden harmonies, band members Chuck Emery, Nathan Standage, Erika Goodwin, Scott Knutson and Elias Pratt deliver an infectiously charismatic, laid-back sound.

Their latest single ‘EZ’ is the result of wanting to put more honesty into their music and lyrics, creating something that felt fresh and modern while still staying true to their sound. Written over the 2020 lockdown, Emery confides, “I felt like my whole world was ending. All of our plans for touring, releases and our goals were halted. I had worked so hard on setting it all up and all of it was canceled. The uncertainty of what the future held threw me into a deep depression with intense anxiety and panic attacks. After months of struggle, I realized the best thing for me was to slow down and take it easy.”

Slow woozy drums and characterful chiming synths that run along the song, the dreamy vocals are soft and rich, floating effortlessly atop the fuzzy guitar and subtle, steady bass. The song’s aura has a hazy, chilled-out atmosphere with an underlying tone of both acceptance and pain. Finding influence in the likes of The Neighbourhood and Porches, “EZ” takes a minimal approach, soaked in vintage synth sounds and an overall warm, easy indie vibe.

Following the notion that simplicity and lyrical authenticity is the perfect combination in curating a raw tune, the band stayed true to the classic country music recipe of, “All you need is three chords and the truth.” Brother. have crafted a song that is comforting for many after the devastating effects of the pandemic, with “EZ” being the reminder to slow down and recenter yourself, as everything will be alright in the end.

The five-piece band are no stranger to being on the road, having toured through Utah, Idaho, Nevada, California, Colorado and New York, with dates set up in London and Paris. Alongside the touring hustle and bustle, Brother. have had their music placed on popular TV shows including Teen Mom 2 and Nancy Drew.

“I saw an angel in the marble and I carved till I set him free” – a Michelangelo quote that would be etched in my mind as I started on my new journey in sobriety. A journey that, at first, would reveal the painful truth about myself and then reveal the genuine beauty and generosity of others. Finally with all my desperation and vulnerability revealed and all my substantial failures confessed, I could be free. Free to have others lead me, free to have others teach me, free to start over.

The album, Real Love, is in part about that spiritual journey and in part about the rediscovery of music and art. I wrote these songs to help me heal and to help me grow. “Emotionally insecure, wrought with fear, anger and self-doubt…all of it, buried under an ego designed to deceive and manipulate the truth of who I was to others and to myself” – this is the harsh and critical self-analysis where the story of Real Love begins.

Addiction and alcoholism defined almost my entire adult life. They were the tools I would use to self-medicate from a disease I didn’t know existed, or at least one that I couldn’t dare admit to having. A disease that eventually, would destroy, from the outside in, everything I ever knew or cared about. My family, my friends, my career, until it had nothing else to destroy but me. By the end of the chaos, with everything and everyone that was ever important to me, injured and gone, I was left with one critical question. How do I move on from here?

NJ Rock band, The Revel, today release their new single “And It Goes,” from their upcoming 2021 EP. 

“And It Goes” sees the band lock into an airtight four-on-the-floor groove as the momentum builds towards a swaggering chant. The song features Dean’s dominating vocals over a steady groove led by drummer, Kyle Smith. This groove builds up to an explosive chorus and addictive hook, characterized by energetic chanting. Dillon’s lively guitar riff brings a classic rock ‘n roll feeling to the song that exhibits the group’s rebellious essence. This new single is yet another song that showcased  The Revel’s rock ‘n roll roots demonstrated by their commanding presence through their music. 

“The goal was to write something that would get stuck in your head no matter what,” Dean explains. “We’re combining this earworm vibe with meaningful lyrics. We really play every card on it. The recording process came naturally to us with this song; we all felt the direction.”

Dillon continues, “We’ve got this unbelievable chemistry. We’re so close now it’s like we can read each other’s minds. It completely opened up Pandora’s Box. We decided to capture that. Writing ‘And It Goes’, the intention was clear to get people to dance and move, but doing it with meaning and truth.”

The Revel’s 2019 EP, Don’t Let Me Go, received praise from American Songwriter, The Aquarian, and many more. American Songwriter wrote, “Dillon and Dean are…doing what they love, rocking out – Dean with his powerful and soaring vocals positioned next to Dillon’s groovy guitar licks – What more would you want?”

“And it Goes” was produced by Jimmy Gnecco (Ours) and was mastered by the Grammy Award winning Emily Lazar at The Lodge. Emily’s many credits include Foo Fighters, Vampire Weekend, The Rolling Stones and Coldplay among others.

This song is the next step in the rock and roll ladder that The Revel has been building since 2017. After performing alongside icons such as Bon Jovi, Buckcherry, Joyous Wolf and others, they roared to life on a series of independent singles and with their upcoming 2021 EP, they will continue to bring a modern lens to the rock and roll they love.

Olivia Morreale debuts her second single, “PARASOMNIA,” from her forthcoming EP, SPACE DREAMS. “PARASOMNIA” comes on the heels of her first single, “NO ANSWER,” which was released in late January and introduced listeners to her unique blend of synthy indie-pop.

“PARASOMNIA” is a dreamy wonderland of gauzy synths, infectious bass and intricately layered vocal chops. Inspired by the way in which subconscious thoughts and desires are unlocked through dreams, it was important to Olivia for the song to lyrically and sonically reflect the innermost psyche. “It sounds like a normal pop song until the breakdown/bridge, where it warps into a sort of nightmarish and dark space,” she writes. “We [Olivia and her co-collaborator, Eli Koskoff] let the idea of a nightmare and of the thoughts we can’t control be our guiding force during the production.”

Olivia Morreale grew up in a household soundtracked by jazz greats like Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, and Ella Fitzgerald. When she moved to New York City for high school, she became infatuated with the city’s underground jazz scene and the collaborative nature of the genre. She’d been dabbling with piano and singing from a young age, but her foray into songwriting took flight when she moved to LA to attend USC. Melding her jazz background with her new immersion in the pop utopia of Los Angeles, Olivia started to pave her own sonic journey, resulting in a sound inspired by synth-pop, chillwave, jazz, and soul. Her music is timeless and refreshing all at once.

In addition to her own releases, Olivia has toured as a background singer for Engelbert Humperdinck and was featured as a star vocalist on Jason “Spicy G” Goldman’s Hypnotized EP. Her ethereal, distinctive vocals have been her long standing calling card and her forthcoming EP, SPACE DREAMS, is a chance for her uniquely hypnotic cadence to take centerstage.

Coral Palms are a four-piece indie pop band conceived and created in Torquay, Devon. Now, currently based in London, band members Ollie, Will, Adriano and Callum deliver an infectious, breezy sound, planting palm trees and warm summer memories in your head. Lining every open road with a feeling that the sun’s still shining and driving you and your soul to somewhere light, bright and boozy, Coral Palms create a sound which is truly addictive.  

When a band’s vocalist is also their drummer, it’s time to buckle-up and inspect the unexpected. Their debut single, “Echoes” is aptly named for a track that keeps coming back to you. It vibrates with Ollie’s upfront percussion and carries the kind of complex, old-school structuring that instantly feels like it’s been on your indie playlist since playlists began. Lyrically conversational, engaging and at times, confrontational, this is a love song of our times. The pairing of Will and Adriano’s guitars bring an overwhelming authenticity while Callum on bass never lets you sit down to listen. Punctuated and played with surprises and depth, it speaks of universal heartbreak and trust, doubt and denial with a very British voice. 

Coral Palms take the modern, indie music that brought them together: Two Door Cinema Club, Foals, Fickle Friends, Noisey – the list goes on, and marry it to the feelings they get from anywhere and everywhere. Their loves, their stories, memories of music past and people present. Anything from Quincy Jones to David Bowie, if it moved them, they will make it move you. While these are big shoes to fill, it’s flip-flops only for a British beach band produced by Adriano, with meticulous originality.

There aren’t many bands who write music that feels like the personal, private property of several generations. But Coral Palms, thanks to old-fashioned hard graft, natural talent and the very highest standards, manage to bring the soul-lifting feel of a never-ending summer to new heights. Ollie and Will confide, “A lot of the themes in our lyrics revolve around youthful disarray, angst and of course romance, but musically, we really just wanted to make tunes that we know we’d bop to at festivals or at a party.”

Grab a cold beer, feel the sand between your toes and dance beneath a blood orange sunset, but pay close attention. This is no ‘Spring Break’, this is indie pop wrapped in nostalgia with a contemporary cutting edge. The great British Summer may never sound the same again.

 Scottish singer and songwriter Roseanne Reid shares emotive cut ‘Fly High’, the third single taken from her upcoming EP ‘Horticulture’, set for release on April 10th, via Last Man – Stream ‘Fly High’ here.


Talking about the song, Roseanne says; “‘Fly High’ was written after the sudden loss of a friend. I wanted to tread the line between processing and articulating my own feelings, and remembering him purely for who he was and what he gave to the world. The song could have gone either way – in the end I felt the best way to honour him is to write what came most naturally to me and sing it in the way it came out in the first couple of takes.”

Entirely written and home-recorded during lockdown by Roseanne herself with Graham Coe on cello and mixed by The Who and Manic Street Preacher’s producer Dave Eringa, ’ is the follow up to , which premiered on‘You Underestimate Me’ BBC Scotland’s Another Country with Ricky Ross last December and the recently released ‘Tentsmuir Sky’.

Lockdown and cancelled tours in 2020, saw Roseanne perform series of popular live streams from her garden. Inspired by her interest in horticulture, she enrolled in a degree course whilst also learning music production and recording techniques. These two new skills created the basis for the forthcoming EP ‘Horticulture’, a four-track collection of new songs due for release as a special edition vinyl in April 2021. Last year Roseanne was nominated for Song Of The Year at the UK Americana Awards for ‘Amy’, this year Roseanne played an exclusive live streamed show during the AmericanaFest UK.

Opening for Teddy Thompson in 2022, Roseanne will support his 12 dates tour starting at Glasgow’s Oran Mor on 21st January 2022, touching London’s Earth Theatre on 28th January, before ending at Manchester’s Band On The Wall on 3rd February –more info and tickets here.

Raina Sokolov-Gonzalez is a singer/composer based in Brooklyn, New York. Born into a family of musicians, music was Raina’s first language and it runs deep within her veins. Rooted in Jazz and R&B, the songwriter invites us into her unique sonic world with harmonic nuance and lyrical poetry. 

Raina’s cross-genre style is built from the bottom up. With improvisation as a starting point for her songs, Raina draws on her emotionality and leans into her perception of the world around, uncovering hidden depths within daily life and articulating personal truth with vulnerability and bravery. Songwriting is her way of processing and understanding life in all its complexity. Her latest single “Better For You” grapples with the gaze, focusing on the experience of being objectified and the ambiguous response to this reality. The song is most explicitly about sex and the ways in which heterosexual dynamics often prioritize men’s pleasure. “Better For You” highlights the ways in which women contort themselves physically and emotionally to be more desirable. Raina shares, “It also depicts the flip side of this, where we become or can become hooked on being the desired one; the way we come to need it, the way our identity becomes tied to this positioning. This is the ambiguity, the grey.” Drawing on her Latinx heritage, the rhythmic piano phrases, dynamic instrumentation and a grooving rhythm section provide a hypnotic backdrop for Raina’s clear and concise vocals. 

The accompanying video is a depiction of different aspects of self and their varied responses to the same encounter. The parallel progression of the character in the orange world untying the ribbons and the character in the yellow world becoming emotionally undone, represents an unraveling, a release from the constraint of the gaze, a coming into her own rawness and vulnerability, co-existing with her strength all at once.

Late last year Monsta X released their 3rd full-length album, Fatal Love, alongside their music video for “Love Killa.” Bringing their talents to the next level, their story, which has been condensed over the past six years, is meant to give you a feeling of thrill as if you’re solving a mystery. While the past albums mainly drew keywords of empathy and consolation, this album showcases the deadly temptation of a man; along with a thriller movie-esque storyline. 

“Love Killa” conveys the strong desire and temptation over a loved one, to the extent that they would give up everything to get one’s love. In the music video, the members turn into six cruel and beautiful “Love Killa’s,” tapping into the maniacal vibe of films such as Joker, Hannibal Lecter, Fight Club, Silence of the Lambs and American Psycho. “When you’re a kid or a baby you think love is a simple thing,” Rapper I.M tells Refinery 29 “You think, ‘Love: that’s my family, my teddy bear, that’s my favorite thing!’ But as we get older, and we learn more about the world around us, you see how the world is complicated, and therefore love seems more complicated, too.” 

The Long War is a shared battle story between five people who have each fought to actualize their dream of becoming musicians. Unified onstage, in the studio and on record they are a shared belief, proof that the journey is worth the war.

But if not for one fateful night in Dawson City, The Long War might have never happened. It was there that singer/songwriter Jarrett Lee landed after leaving his hometown of Ottawa, a frustrated and disillusioned cover musician. He traveled across Canada trying to make sense of life. Inevitably, he ended up another lost soul drawn to the silence of the Yukon. It was there, under the northern lights, that the spell was broken. His muse was born on the horizon and the songs began to spill out of him.

An invisible pull guided Jarrett toward Vancouver and his next chapter – autobiographical tales that reflect the landscapes and places that have inspired him as well the people who have come and gone throughout it all. “I see the world as a collage of moving pictures and so I try to write and produce songs that capture the cinematic essence of life.”

I am writing to you to share “Fly Off” featuring Claire Ridgely, taken from Here You Can Leave Me, my upcoming EP out on March 25th. This song is an ode to letting go and focuses on releasing one’s inhibitions with that special someone, even if it’s just for the night.

“Fly Off” came together quickly, with everything from the synths I chose to the drum sound design and sequencing happening in a single take.

Claire Ridgely recorded her vocals remotely, killing it in one go – we didn’t have any back and forth once she sent the vocals, which speaks to her sheer talent as a singer and songwriter.

This song is the most pop driven track I have released, which allowed me to balance my sound with something captivating and simple in essence. Jimkata are a three-piece anthemic, synth-washed, electro-rock band based out of Ithaca. King Park has been turning out mercurial, high-contrast indie rock since they released their 2017 breakout track, “Stay.” Gritty and lush, the quartet’s sound mirrors the antitheses of their hometown, Hamilton, Ontario: on the one hand, blue-collar and raw, and, on the other, artful and lovely.Following their self-released debut EP, The Light I Can’t See, King Park won the 97.7 HTZ-FM’s Rock Search 2018 contest, which helped launch other Canadian rock groups like Finger Eleven, the Trews, and Glorious Sons. I want to inspire kids like me to do things the right way like I have done. To work hard, to make sacrifices and enjoy the rewards. That’s what it’s about.’ 

With the world title fight scheduled for 20^th March and ‘TKO’ providing the soundtrack to his ring walk, Lawrence Okolie’s career is most certainly worth keeping an eye on, both in and out of the ring.

LA-based pop darling CAPPA is premiering the official music video for her new single, “Colder.” The single, which was released in late February, is a testament to CAPPA’s knack for creating catchy yet clever pop numbers. Navigating the residual emotions after the demise of a relationship, “Colder” is an instantly infectious track tethered by snappy pop grooves, sparkly synths, and CAPPA’ signature honeyed vocals.

The neon-hued music video was directed by Bradley Dunn and filmed at The Barracks in LA. “The inspiration behind the video was to create a world where it felt like a relationship was ending,” CAPPA writes of how the video brought the song’s emotionally-charged lyricism to life.

The rising DJ cites the dynamic, happy, explosive dance music of artists like Pitbull and Diplo as major inspirations for his own sound. Fazi says: As a DJ, it’s my job to take people on a musical journey and get them dancing and having fun. It’s important to showcase different kinds of music too.

Born in Iran, Fazi was raised in a musical family. His mother sang, his brother played violin, his sister played piano and his father offered general support when needed — meanwhile, as a toddler, he would bang empty buckets like drums. Recognizing his interest in music, his parents signed him up for Tombak (Persian drum) classes and eventually he began performing at family parties with his siblings.

singer and songwriter Robyn Sherwell shares ‘To Give Up’, the first single taken from her upcoming new album ‘Unfold’, due for release on June 18th – Stream ‘To Give Up’ here – Pre-order ‘Unfold’ here.

 Written by Robyn herself, and co-produced with long term friend and collaborator Jonas Jalhay – whose credits include artists such as DJ Khaled, Rag’n’Bone Man and James Blake – the new cut serves a pulsating slice of electronic alt-pop. Lyrically empowering, Robyn reflects on the challenge of leaving a dysfunctional situation. With almost relentless propulsion, cycling percussive rhythms tick away through the song like a time-bomb waiting to blow, and when it does, the chorus explodes like a howl for freedom and release. 

 Talking about the song, Robyn says it is: “a thumping battle song for anyone trying to walk away from a situation or relationship that isn’t working for them. It felt like giving up was the only way out, and whilst I wanted freedom, to give up after investing so much also felt like a betrayal to myself. The song is like a plea for the strength to do it. “

 Robyn Sherwell is a name that has been on the lips of tastemakers since her debut single ‘Love Somebody’ became a firm favourite of Lauren Laverne’s on BBC Radio 6 and signalled the arrival of a new heart-on-sleeve female singer-songwriter. Follow up single ‘Islander’, a dedication to her childhood home of Guernsey, quickly secured support from Huw Stephens and BBC Introducing, catapulting Sherwell onto the latter’s stage at Glastonbury in June 2015. That same summer, her cover of Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Landslide’ was chosen as the soundtrack to the trailer for the film ‘Suffragette’. This led to Lauren Laverne making the track her 6Music Recommends Track Of The Week, and Jo Whiley playing it twice in one show on her BBC Radio 2 show. Pairing melancholy songwriting with stirring electronica, acclaimed British indie artist Nathan Ball shares “Blindside” – the stunning lead single from his forthcoming debut album, out later this year.

With a haunting verse building to a euphoric chorus, “Blindside” eventually erupts with cymbals like the crashing waves on the storm-beaten cliffs which naturally surround the Cornwall-based musician. Starting out as Nathan tinkering on a piano in an old chapel outside of Bath, “Blindside” documents a relationship falling apart, the feeling of losing sight of who each other is and craving that connection and emotion back.

50/50 is a unique take on a love song. It’s a love song about you (the listener), versus a breakup song about two people. This homage to self-esteem is timely as taking care of your own emotional needs became paramount in 2020, Kayla reflects on this on her latest track 50/50. As Kayla explains “Sometimes you need to show yourself some love, even if it means hurting someone else.”

The recording of 50/50 was a painstaking process with Kayla recording over 30 different vocal demos to capture the exact right vibe of the song and tweaking everything to perfect her vision. Working with Marty Martino (Honors, Down With Webster) and her A&R team, the result is one of Kayla’s strongest tracks to date and showcases her dynamic vocal range.

Reflecting on what she wants fans to take from the song Kayla says “Lots of people will hear this song and think it’s just about a spoiled relationship, but to me it’s so much more than that. It’s about recognizing that you deserve better than what you’re being given. It’s about removing unwanted toxicity from your life.”

Drawing comparisons to Björk, Sinead O’Connor and Sylvan Esso, Shrines is the moniker of Brooklyn-based singer and musician, Carrie Erving (Ponyhof, Will Butler of Arcade Fire). Today she announces Our Ship is Ready, a new video EP due out on April 16, and releases the project’s first clip for “Silkie.” Our Ship is Ready is a collection of her modern re-imaginings of traditional folk ballads, which she learned while living in Ireland, from traditional singers including Iarla Ó Lionaird and Karan Casey.

 Of Our Ship is Ready, Shrines shares: “My time in Ireland collecting songs from the Sean-nós (the Irish language term for “old style”) tradition has had such a deep impact on the way that I sing and write music. Our Ship Is Ready is a project that I hope to continue in the future, with more collaborators and volumes of collected traditional songs. I offer this first volume as a snapshot of a creative process during the pandemic, in which I reached back to the source of some of my deepest inspiration as an artist, and recorded and performed these songs while living in isolation in nature. These are some of my favorite songs that have stuck with me for many years and I am excited to have the opportunity to arrange them in my own way and share them.

 My husband (the videos’ director, Brody Bernheisel) and I have been quarantining on an island in Maine. We’ve filmed music videos that seek to capture these traditional songs’ reverence of the natural world. Creatively, there is a direct connection for me between the natural settings we chose for the film locations and the wild nature that is present in so many of these ancient songs. I also imagine a connecting thread to the original settings in which they were perhaps written: within solitude and as an ode to nature. From my side of the Atlantic, I’m engaging in a conversation with these ancient themes and stories and bringing my own creative interpretations to them. Arranged with strings, piano, and synths, these songs also pay homage to the inspiration of my favorite folk records from the ‘60s and ‘70s. Alongside a recurring theme of a reverence for the land, the songs share the thread of the same theme of beginning a journey, looking out into the unknown with trepidation or excitement. For me this project is also a snapshot of a creative process during the pandemic — recording vocals at my home studio in Maine with vocal producer/mixer Rosana Cabán (Psychic Twin) and engaging in an extended long-distance correspondence of recording, arranging and mixing with my longtime collaborator, cellist and co-producer Chris Loxley.

 The videos themselves are a snapshot in time: isolated in nature, solitude, or dancing alone in ones’ room, and living in a sense of waiting and looking out towards the future. My hope is for the music and videos to provide the viewer with a chance to escape for a few moments into the quiet magic of this place, which has been a source of grounding and solace for me during this difficult year.”

BETWEEN FRIENDS is the creative union between siblings Savannah and Brandon Hudson. Living in Los Angeles, Savannah and Brandon have been steeped in the city’s creative community from a young age, their kinetic relationship with one another helping create sultry, detached, bedroom pop. Today, BETWEEN FRIENDS share “tape 001,” a 5-track mixtape that’s the first in a series of three, leading to a full project this summer. “tape 001” features the lead single “shiny,” which acts as a timely reintroduction to Savannah’s bold, moody vocal style, blending perfectly with Brandon’s left-brain pop production. K-Pop boy band, CRAVITY, have released their highly anticipated performance video for “Bad Habits,” today. The B-side track is off their  3rd album, SEASON3. [HIDEOUT: BE OUR VOICE], released earlier this year. With an ambitious drive to turn the year 2021 into CRAVITY’s, the members wasted no time speaking to places like Good Day New York, iHeart, ET Canada, Radio.com and many more, about their success thus far and the creative process behind the album. “We shot the performance video for “Bad Habits” using many new techniques we haven’t tried before, for example shooting with night vision or lip syncing to a lower angle camera through a glass pane. iskwē released her third album acākosīk on November 9, 2019 to critical praise. Marked by introspective lyricism, mournful melodies, lush blankets of driving guitars and wistful vocal deliveries, Massachusetts’s Valleyheart is equal parts boldness and beauty. Led by singer/songwriter/producer Kevin Klein, the four-piece formed in 2016 with the idea of rearranging Klein’s haunting folk songs (written in his home closet studio) into dynamic rock statements.

 The band’s first EP Nowadays arrived in 2017 and quickly gained attention across the scene for its relatable lyrics and nostalgic feel. Klein’s vision was further realized with the 2018 LP release Everyone I’ve Ever Loved. It was an immense step forward in both sound and story. A conceptual journey through identity and faith. Kerrang Magazine noted “punk elements are present but not pronounced; each song is a musical game of hide-and-seek.”

Now unveiling Scenery, the new EP is a collection of four songs which together convey a narrative, but also live in their unique place – both visually and sonically. Klein confides, “I would say the main underlying theme in our music is, as basic as it sounds, to understand the mystery of self, change, identity and life.”

Leading single “T.I.K” (an acronym for Thoughts I Keep) dives into the songwriters’ own mind and contemplates understanding paradoxical behaviors. Studying the contradictory nature of the psyche, “T.I.K” is about how our opposing emotions and thoughts interact. Klein shares, “I wanted those tensions and that weight paralleled in the instrumentation; hence this probably being the heaviest and most hard-hitting track.” Clashing percussion and resonating guitars build to create a raucous and energetic atmosphere. 

 “Scenery” lyrically touches on the idea of feeling stuck emotionally, mentality and even physically – and the ways we tell ourselves we need to change our environment to change ourselves. The track examines the way we shake up our surroundings in search of mental clarity and peace. With a simpler approach, the song finds inspiration from the likes of some early 2000’s alternative rock and creates its energy through a consistent groove and blend of drum machines and natural elements” 

Then there is “Stepping Stone” – a song touching on contentment and rest. A song that dives into the search for contentment and comfort through more tangible and unlikely sources; and questions our habits, vices, and faith altogether. Featuring fun guitar melodies and gritty vocals, the uplifting song is certain to put a spring in your step. 

 Valleyheart has been awarded “Rock Artist of the Year” at the Boston Music Awards and their album Everyone I’ve Ever Loved received a nomination for “Album of the Year.” The band enters 2021 with new music and a renewed creative push as they continue to carve out their own corner of the indie/alternative rock space.

You already know Flo Gallop. You’ve already heard her voice, it’s a pitch-perfect, beautiful, arm-around-the-shoulders version of the one in your head. Flo is the voice we all need, She’s the beat behind our breakdowns and the word-perfect poetry of our bounce-back pick-ups. South-east London born and bred, Flo was raised around music, her dad made songwriting feel like breathing. Multi-faceted French-Asian artist Thérèse releases her debut EP ‘Rêvalité’,

The six-track EP features the recently released single and Chinoise?’ – WATCH ‘CHINOISE ?’ VIDEO HERE – which sees Thérèse blurring different music genres, breaking common stereotypes around Asians using pervasive popular cliches while mixing French-influenced hip-hop, electro-pop and samples of traditional Chinese instruments including Pipa and Rubab, an Afghan instrument widely used in the Xinjiang province of northwest China. The EP title, ‘Rêvalité’, explains Thérèse; “is a word I invented, a mix between “rêve” (= dream) and “réalité” (= reality) and also a mix between “rêve” (= dream) and “alité” (= bedridden). It perfectly represents the surreal Covid19 pandemic life, during which humanity has been floating between a dream (or a nightmare) and real life. Even if the themes of the songs are quite strong, the word ‘Rêvalité’ sounds hopeful, as the aim of this EP is to encourage people to face reality in order to be aware and ready to re-build our future.”

Part of a new generation of French electronic music artists mixing the power of bass music, the musicality of Hip Hop and the energy of club culture, Thérèse has established herself as a figure of empowerment in the French-Asian community. ‘Chinoise?’ is the follow up to her debut single ‘T.O.X.I.C’, which has seen the talented artist being selected for the 2021 Société Pernod Ricard France Live Music Prize, the prize sets out in search of the very best in the independent French music scene. As an activist, she has been fighting racism especially towards French Asians through her music and  social media platforms, more recently COVID-19 fuelled the flames of anti-Asian sentiment in France with prejudice and racist slurs shocking the country’s Asian community. French Asians have been fighting back using the hashtag #JeNeSuisPasUnVirus (I’m not a virus), through her work with anti-racists associations such as Décolonisons Nous and Stop Asiaphobie, Thérèse has become one of their most radical voices on national French media, appearing on daytime TV shows including ‘Quotidien’ on TMC/TF1 and ‘Info du vrai’ on Canal +.

Born in Paris, Thérèse is half Chinese, a quarter Lao and a quarter Vietnamese. Her parents arrived in France in the late 70’s, met in Paris and lived in different suburbs, Villejuif, Saint-Ouen, Bagnolet, Vitry sur Seine. She started playing piano when she was nine years old and attended the Conservatory before landing a well paid job as Product Manager at Kenzo Parfums, LVMH. One day she decided to switch and draw her own career path, “as Missy Elliott recently said as long as you are breathing, it’s never too late… That’s the motto I want to follow”, she enthuses. Now she splits her time between music, styling for other French music artists including Sônge, and brands such as Nuxe and Fête Impériale, as well as modelling for empowering French labels Ysé and Superbe.

Soaring off the back of January’s sublime pop banger “Champagne Butterflies”, Irish indiepop band Wild Youth unveil their latest bop “Can’t Say No” – which they announce today will be taken from their forthcoming new EP Forever Girl, out March 26th.

I was having a conversation with my best friend about the dude I used to date, and how I thought I’d be better at the hard goodbye. I think about bringing a box of your ex’s clothes back to him after a break-up. The cold sadness and loneliness that comes with reminiscing on the memories. TONYB. is a singer/songwriter from Nashville, TN. Heavily influenced by 90’s and early 2000’s R&B, he credits his range of musical and vocal dynamics to the likes of Aaliyah, D’Angelo and Usher. 

His latest endeavor is his new 18-track deluxe version of his acclaimed album Flashing Lights. Created between Nashville and Los Angeles over the last few years TONYB. has amalgamated a collection of sonic stories of coming into adulthood. TONYB. explains the overarching themes of Flashing Lights sharing, “It’s a symbol of how life is ever changing and not everything will always be clear. Even in some of the challenging moments, even when everything is dark, you can still find the light.” 

Covering an incredibly in depth tunnel of experiences and emotions, we get an insight into the vulnerability and raw, honest truths of TONYB.. The album ranges from more dance-worthy tunes such as “Take a Loss” to more emotional, delicate songs such as “Angels.” Overall the aura of Flashing Lights is a rich soulful, alt R&B delivery, composed of stunning vocal runs and an emporium of synths, drums and bass.

Leading single “Worst Way” is a collaboration with female artist Paris Laná. “Worst Way” was added to Spotify’s Best of 2020: Fresh Finds: The Wave (R&B) editorial playlist and has racked up close to half a million streams alone. Singing, “I want you back in the single worst way,” both artist’s vocals merge together effortlessly, combining their silky voices. “Worst Way” absorbs many sonic layers, emitting trap-like R&B claps, hi-hat heavy beats and an underlining pulsing, deep bass. The soft popping of the synths add a dream-like atmosphere to the tune, shimmering with so much complexity in both the lyrics, production and structure.

Included in the deluxe album is the new single “Serious.” Featuring harp-esque flares, heavy R&B beats and harmonic vocals, the track blurs into an all encompassing sound. The tropical synths precipitate soft, juicy feelings while the hook is the definition of catchy. “Serious” narrates the depth of a connection, oozing with emotion and passion.

The song, AJ explains, is about the beginning of his career when he first arrived in Los Angeles to chase his dreams, and a toxic situation he found himself in while a member of the content collective Team 10. “Once the cameras turned on, the dynamic changed. Everyone was all of a sudden like, ‘Oh, I love you’. When the cameras shut off, nobody talked to one another. Everybody was staring at a phone. I was young, so it was weird for me to understand. The only thing that saved me was music. Once again, it took me away—just like it did back in my hometown of Belleville, IL.”

Electric Religious is the project of Edmonton-based Métis singer-songwriter, Brandon Baker, whose guitar-driven music has been described as “bursting with inspiration, insight, and hope.” Deeply influenced by the psychedelic sounds of Jimi Hendrix, Baker took his moniker from a Hendrix quote: “When I get up on stage, that’s my whole life. That’s my religion. My music is electric church music. I am electric religion.” The debut Electric Religious album, Yeah, Yeah, No (2018) featured the single “Revolution,” which achieved a coveted spot in the CBC Searchlight Top 100 in 2019, and spent multiple weeks at #1 on the Indigenous Music Countdown. A virtuosic guitar player whose live performances are undeniably impressive, Baker has performed for audiences as large as 50,000 during the opening ceremonies for Red Bull Crashed Ice, which was broadcast to over 1.7 million viewers. Other accolades for Electric Religious include an “Artist to Watch” nomination at the Edmonton Music Awards (2015), and a nomination for Aboriginal Artist of the Year in Baker’s home province of Saskatchewan (2009).

A true definition of a go-getter, the independent rising pop artist practically runs a full-service label for herself out of her bedroom. She is her own manager, creative director, A&R, label head, artist, publicist, marketing strategist, all in one. Her music feels to listeners like the 90s has met the 2020s – bringing a retro electro pop sound that’s passionate, vibey, and brimming with a hopeful future. Her music embodies her “IDGAF” attitude, and her lyrics are relentlessly honest and relatable, while being upbeat, disco, and reflecting 80s elements and influences. Bluntly put, her songs make you want to go out and be a badass. Although Leah’s been singing and writing songs since the age of 12, getting fired from her job (because she spent all of her time in the studio and not really at work) while living in NYC was the push she needed to begin releasing music professionally and full time. With the help of her brother, the two started writing songs in their in-home studio at a super young age. The go-getter she is, Leah, at maybe 14 years old, would email huge producers of major labels of artists she loved, trying to get them to produce her voice memos that she would freestyle. Her songs range in a variety of versatile topics but the one thing they all have in common is that they are very truthful and reflective of her life. “No matter what kind of song I’m releasing, whether it’s a disco dance pop song or just me on guitar, the lyrics have to matter and be very truthful to my life.” – Leah.

For as long as he can remember, Ryan Montbleau’s been a seeker. From the jungles of Peru to the volcanoes of Hawaii, from the beaches of Costa Rica to the streets of Brooklyn, from the backseat of a 16-passenger van to backstage at Carnegie Hall, the acclaimed singer/songwriter has spent much of his life crisscrossing the globe on a perpetual search for meaning, purpose, and understanding. It’s a quest that’s guided him both personally and professionally over the years, one that’s come to define not only his music, but his very sense of self. And yet, listening to Montbleau’s ambitious new multi-part album, Wood, Fire, Water, and Air, there is a profound sense of satisfaction in sitting still, a recognition that perhaps all those spiritual treasures he’s been chasing for so long were closer than he thought.

“My whole adult life has been this journey of trying to figure out where home is,” Montbleau reflects. “I think I’ve finally found it.”

Set to roll out across four distinct EPs, Wood, Fire, Water, and Air marks Montbleau’s first studio release since putting down permanent roots in Burlington, Vermont, where he recently purchased a house after more than two decades of living on the road. While much of the material here was written in fits and starts over the past several years, it’s clear that the desire for stability was very much on Montbleau’s mind even before he settled on the banks of Lake Champlain, and the songs reflect a maturity and self-awareness that can only come from the difficult work of rigorous self-examination. Montbleau is quick to credit therapy for his growth of late, but he sings about more than just himself here, mixing sly humor and deep revelations as he meditates on the ties that bind all of us perfectly imperfect humans together. Taken as a whole, it’s a broad, insightful collection balancing boisterous rock and roll energy with intimate folk introspection, a sprawling, magnetic record all about listening, letting go, and living life.

“I’ve been through a lot over these past few years,” says Montbleau, “and I’ve experienced some monumental shifts in my perspective. The only way for me to write about it was to just get as honest and vulnerable as I could.”
