Singer-songwriter and musician, Cameron Hardy, today released his second single “Perfume” through AWAL on all digital and streaming platforms. “Perfume” releases on the heels of Hardy’s critically acclaimed debut single “I Thought You Were Lonely,” which released last May and has soared to over 2.5M+ streams to date.
“Perfume” marks another track written by Hardy himself, in collaboration with industry heavyweight songwriter Delacey (The Chainsmokers’ “New York City”, Demi Lovato’s “Ruin the Friendship”, Halsey’s “Without Me”), and is produced by Jeff Halatrax (John Legend, Sabrina Carpenter, Selena Gomez) and DAV (Brandyn Burnette, Brianna Mazolla). The vocal production is by Bart Schoudel (Selena Gomez, Camila Cabello, Billie Eilish). “Perfume” is infectious with Hardy’s catchy songwriting pop-hooks, as he delivers a new R&B leaning sound that brings out a sense of rawness to the emotional track. “Perfume” tells a story that many can relate to, yearning to be with an ex that you cannot escape because everything and every turn reminds you of them and the love loss.
Hardy brought on creative producer Andrew Brochetti (Madison Beer, Lauren Jauregui) and director Jackie Kulla (Olivia O’Brien, Absofacto, Alina Baraz) for the music video. A true creative and collaborator at heart, Hardy remained extremely involved throughout the process as he wanted the emotion to be perfectly depicted throughout the visual story. In the video, Hardy is submerged in water, a raw moment that depicts the emotional weight of being torn between an ex and someone new.
