On the track, sinewy guitar snakes around a skittering beat as multiplatinum phenomenon PnB Rock carries the immediately alluring hook. Tyla pulls up with an emotionally charged verse before Trippie Redd counters with a soaring cameo of his own. The track unites three of the game’s most inimitable and innovative disruptors on one poignant blockbuster that cuts deep. The accompanying visual was directed by Tyler Yee [G-Eazy, Lil Yachty]. It spotlights Tyla covered in blood as he raps to the camera from a Saw-style cell. The clip seamlessly threads together dark vignettes as the trio come together under moody spotlights in epic fashion.

It arrives on the heels of 2021’s “Hands Up” [feat. Morray]. The track has already amassed near 5 million streams and over 10.5 million cumulative views on the explosive music video aross platforms Inciting critical applause, UPROXX hailed it as “quite the fiery track,” and Complex cited it among “Best New Music This Week” and claimed, ‘Hands Up’ is a sentimental record where Tyla Yaweh croons over solemn production. REVOLT urged, “be sure to press play.” In addition, it received attention from the likes of XXL, HotNewHipHop, Hip Hop DX, Rap Radar, and much more.

From recording artist to radio co-host, busy Canadian singer/songwriter, and Billboard charting artist Avery Raquel has been entertaining audiences professionally for over 10 years. She’s released 3 solo albums to critical acclaim and airplay across the country and is now prepping for her self-titled fourth release in 2022.

This new project of all original Alternative Soul is reminiscent of, and her love for RnB/Soul music of the past, but with a more current, contemporary style. Influenced by artists such as Etta James, Carole King, Amy Winehouse, Lauryn Hill, Bruno Major, Allen Stone, and so many others, Avery’s created, on this new collection of personal, yet relatable songs, a soulful fun mix of RnB/Soul and Pop, with a flavour of her Jazz, and Blues experiences.

And. at the age of 20, Avery isn’t new to songwriting either. In late 2018, Avery Raquel released her 3rd solo album, ‘My Heart Away’, which was comprised of all original music, written by the accomplished and maturing artist. The music achieved media exposure and radio across the country and into the US and even Europe. The album debuted at #11 on the Canadian iTunes Top 200 RnB/Soul chart.

That achievement is merely one of many successes from this young entertainer. In fact, the Canadian recording artist started in the entertainment industry at a very young age. From television, for the likes of Spielberg and DreamWorks, to an animation series for Disney, voice-over work, commercials and radio, as well as a number of professional stage productions across Canada, Avery’s passion for performing grew. All the while, Avery kept honing her craft as a vocalist of rare talent, which has led to an impressive list of career-accomplishments on her musical resume.

MR BRUCE breaks into 2022 with the highly-charged new single: “Volatile Times”.LISTEN HEREReleased today, it arrives as the fourth and final single release to be cut from Mr Bruce’s debut EP, ‘RACE TO NOWHERE [PART ONE]’ – out now on Deep Blue Records.Sharing DNA with contemporaries the likes of Disclosure, Jamie XX or Lone, “Volatile Times” is a 2-Step Garage track at its heart, with euphoria-inducing basslines, rapidfire wordplay and funky rhythms that all take cues from that pivotal UK subgenre and its early pioneers.A love song about the complexity of being a parent in a time of political, technological and environmental uncertainty, the song was written for Mr Bruce’s young daughter; his guiding light in a world which he increasingly feels is in a state of emergency. As Mr Bruce says:“I feel so much anxiety for her future that her and her generation are going to inherit, and yet she is the one person who makes me feel less anxious because she’s so joyful. It’s a paradox.”

With seductive vocals, dreamy atmospheres, and explosive energy, Anna Sun explores the world through a haze of mystery and romance. Originally the bedroom project of songwriter Samantha Aneson, Anna Sun has since grown into a collaborative trio, marrying classic pop aesthetics to adventurous modern production. With their self-titled debut EP, the group is announcing the arrival of a vital new voice in indie pop.

The core of Anna Sun’s appeal lies in Samantha’s diary-like songwriting. Drawing on her background in theatre, her songs dig much deeper into relationship dynamics than the average pop song, all while remaining exceptionally catchy. This is best exemplified by the opening track, “Mine.”

“It started as a bubblegum love song and turned into this romanticization of codependency,” she says. As a deeply self-aware writer, she is able to turn her neurosis into something uplifting and almost funny. “I think this song was my attempt to take the piss out on myself.”

Texan singer-songwriter LANDON LLOYD MILLER is pleased to announce his debut solo album: ‘Light Shines Through’.

Confirmed for release on 4 March 2022 via the Twin Mesa label, The Wall Chargers frontman goes it alone to release this strident first collection under his own name.

In anticipation of the release Landon has shared its first official single “Bluebonnet”; a tender, raw, confessional track that finds the singer opening-up about the tumultuous relationship with his father, to overcoming the mental pressures he has experienced as a touring artist.

The follow-up to recent teaser track, “Light Is Growing”, a song praised by Americana UK as “an uplifting dose of positivity”, new single “Bluebonnet” finds Landon in an altogether darker and more pensive space.

“You were only lying when you said why you’d never go. That’s alright. Only love lied so I’d never have to know” sings Landon through gritted teeth here.

A stark portrait of his father and an uncensored reckoning of his actions, Landon recalls of the intimately personal events behind “Bluebonnet”:

“There was a moment when I was a boy that he swore to me he would never leave us and that he would always love my mother,”. It was only a few years later that his father walked-out on him and his mother for good.

A song that finds an artist unafraid to face his demons and to tackle songwriting subjects others may find taboo, “Bluebonnet” also finds Landon admitting to the depression he has experienced as a traveling musician; opening a dialogue for countless other artists who have undoubtedly experienced similar feelings while out on the road

THE HOWL & THE HUM are pleased to present the official video for “Thumbs Up”.WATCH THE VIDEO HEREClosing-out a benchmark year for the band, the alt/folk three-piece have teamed-up with celebrated Australian director Matthew Thorne on a gripping visual narrative to accompany their latest single “Thumbs Up”.Filmed in an ex-coal mining commuter settlement in the heart of the Rhondda Valley of South Wales, the video follows the story of a young man and his struggles with, and love affairs with, small town life.

Intended as a partner story to the short film for The Howl & The Hum’s sensational “Boy Racer” (which Thorne also directed), the video explores themes of brotherhood, fatherhood and masculine connection. Framed against the backdrop of a dead-end town with characters of a vividly real nature, the “Thumbs Up” video bristles with all of the intensity, interconnectivity and drama that comes with life in a close community.

Speaking about how the video came about, Sam Griffiths of The Howl & The Hum says:

“I approached Matthew with the song saying we could approach the video with a lens on mental health, masculinity and silence, and he almost immediately answered with this idea encompassing the Rhondda valleys, where serendipitously both of our families are from, so there’s a bunch of odd connections there (family members living on the same street etc).”

Pet Needs 23.9.18 @ Clacton Pier PROMO by Jonathan Doyle

Making a passionate case for being its future saviours and major stakeholders for years to come, PET NEEDS look to bail-out the under-fire genre with an ambitious bid worthy of your investment.

A 3-minute masterclass of incisive three-chord riffs, flailing guitar solos, and the wryest of lyrical wit, ‘Punk Isn’t Dead…’ is as lean and dynamic a punk track as you’ll ever hear, with a devilish sense of humour to boot.

Caught between the rock-and-hard-place position of balancing a steady job by-day and fronting a punk-rock band by-night, Johnny Marriott remembers of writing the song:

““Punk Isn’t Dead (It’s Just Up For Sale)” is a punk tune written on a Colchester platform as commuters waited for the train to London. In the rain. Again. This is a portrait of people with collared shirts covering tattoos, avoiding eye contact as post-hardcore blasts through headphones. Of course, this is essentially autobiographical. I was in a job where I couldn’t be myself. I left it without a real plan, and it was the best thing I ever did.”

Morcheeba share a brand new remix from legendary UK electronic duo Orbital, who’ve flipped the tempo, sonics and style of ‘Namaste’ into a high-octane, blissful workout that, whilst suited for both dancefloor and audiophiles alike, keeps the beautiful musicality and esteemed aura of Morcheeba’s original firmly intact – STREAM ‘NAMASTE’ (ORBITAL REMIX) HERE

This follows the acclaimed launch of Morcheeba’s 10-track ‘Blackest Blue’ album in May 2021, released independently via their very own Fly Agaric Records. Earning a 5-star review and described as “bold, mercurial, and enthralling” by Albumism, Orbital’s new remix is the perfect accompaniment and extension of the full-length project, continuing a series of new remixes due throughout 2022.

Talking about reworking the cut, Orbital say; “We’ve circled Morcheeba in the music world for as long as I can remember. We have known Skye since before Morcheeba were even born! It’s so good to have finally found ourselves in each other’s orbit and collaborated on this remix . Watch this space for more to come…”
