The newest film about to make it’s way to Hulu has garnered comparisons to that of ‘Fatal Attraction’, ‘Indecent Proposal’ and ‘9 and a Half Weeks’. ‘Deep Water’ stars Ben Affleck and Ana De Armas and is directed by Fatal Attraction filmmaker Adrian Lyne from a script co-written by Zack Helm and Sam Levinson (known for writing Euphoria). It’s based on Patricia Highsmith’s 1957 novel of the same name. It also stars Lil Rel Howery, Jacob Elordi, Finn Wittrock, Rachel Blanchard, Tracy Letts, Kristen Connolly, and Dash Mihok.
“The film centers on Vic and Melinda Van Allen, who are an attractive married couple whose mind games with each other take a twisted turn when people around them start turning up dead,” reads the synopsis. “The couple staves off divorce in a loveless marriage by allowing each to take lovers, but it becomes messy as Highsmith exposed the surface facade of American suburban life.”
