The stunning visual accompanies a dreamy showcase of flawless vocals and cathartic songwriting, making an impressive next move for the rising 18-year-old.

Written when AJA was working through a difficult time, the track is a reminder to keep your head up and focus on looking ahead. Written in collaboration with Jimmy McGorman and Rob Vallier, the tender ballad adds yet another string to her musical bow. Sharing more, AJA explained: I wrote Fireflies when I was in a pretty dark place and it was really about looking forward to what is next for me and getting away from negativity.  Not letting anything stand in the way of me chasing my dreams.

Fireflies is the follow up single to Love At First Song’ which came out back in March. Written as a testament to her love of music, the knock-out single was a certified bop, scooping support from the likes of DORK and Ones To Watch, amassing hundreds of thousands of streams.

Despite only just turning 18-year-old, the Toronto born and bred artist has already made an impact with both music fans and critics. In the short time since she launched, her songwriting has evolved into a strong and empowering language that is complimented by a vocal prowess way beyond her years.

Embodying love, self-hood, heartbreak and hope, Sir Jude‘s music is a modern timewarp – a discovery of raw emotion through sensuality and imagination. It is cinematic pop that is hard to ignore. With a heavy visual focus, Sir Jude immerses us into her world, described as the sonic love child of James Bond and pop-grunge tones.

In fresh offering ‘Madonna’, out July 6th, the track’s core concept is to reflect the dichotomy of the Madonna and the whore, the patriarchal respect of innocence and implied shame of sexual agency.

Its baby Gaga energy and Yelle inspired production motivate a 2022, catwalk-like anthem that speaks on feminism through a veil made of ethereal elements and gritty grunge pop undertones.

This single contributes to the visual story that culminates her pending debut album, Revelations, a body of work that represents a sonic journey of unravelling internalised misogyny and discovery of the self, pushing the boundaries of pop with lyrical prowess in its stride.

Catholicism, high fashion, the cinematography of the film-noir genre and Baroque art all influence  the creative direction of this project.

Up until now, the release of Sir Jude’s debut EP Dreamlands 2020, featuring ‘What the Hell Have You  Done’, has collectively accrued over 250,000 streams and saw a feature on Spotify’s Fresh Finds  playlist.

Shortly after its release, her song ‘Mirror’ was synced to MTV‘s reality TV show, ‘Catfish’. More recently, ‘What the Hell Have You Done’ and ‘Because You’re Mine’ were spotted in Netflix UK’s  Series, ‘The A List’.

Queens County Roots is home to the blues rock songs of guitarist Marlon Hurt. Now based in New York City, Marlon is originally from Atlanta, Georgia. Marlon is the son of a one-time professional bluesman who played with musicians like Butch Trucks and Pat Ramsey. He saturated Marlon’s early life with the likes of The Allman Brothers Band and Taj Mahal. Marlon originally decamped to NYC to pursue a theater career, but was drawn back to his blues rock roots, releasing the first QCR demos in 2017.

Marlon’s music is a combination of opposites: Southern style adds flair to straight-ahead Northern drive; blues and rock are blended with pop; hooks mix with poetry. Marlon’s playful take on established Americana styles led some critics to declare QCR one of the best emerging bands (Indie SpoonfulPlease Pass the Indie). Others have called his music “the gospel of real life shit” (Divide and Conquer).

In his other life, Marlon also holds a PhD in Forensic Linguistics.

Brooklyn-based, Metro-Detroit-bred singer-songwriter, Charlie Burg, shares dynamic single “OohSumthin‘ New” out everywhere now ahead of his debut LP, Infinitely Tall, due out August 19 available for pre-order now via FADER Label. In support of the album, Burg will hit the road this fall across the EU, UK and North America from September through November. Get tickets now via charlieburg.world. In celebration of the (oo! sumthin’) new single, get a limited edition t-shirt in collaboration with Everpress now here.

“Ooh! Sumthin’ New,” is a bright groove where Burg introduces a protagonist who craves a change of pace–new surroundings, new people and more than anything, authenticity. The upbeat instrumental is juxtaposed by lyrics that critique the world around him, namely, the damaging effects of social media, and the world these apps fabricate. Over mellow guitar, he sings, “Let me hang out with your friends / These industry players always playing pretend / You’re an artist, and you look great / But your Instagram’s not a personality trait.”

Mere weeks after the reveal of his standout debut EP Manic Pixie Dream Boy, hotly regarded London based newcomer Ray Laurél reveals the beautiful video for EP focus track, Unconditional. Watch the Guy Gooch helmed video HERE .

Having spent the past few weeks cementing himself as one of the UK’s brightest new lights,  Ray Laurél recently revealed his hotly anticipated debut EP, ‘Manic Pixie Dream Boy’. 5 eclectic tracks showing the young polymath in full bloom, the EP features lead single ‘Unconditional’ and Pride anthem in waiting ‘Johnny’, rounding out a body of work which serves as further evidence as to why Ray has sent tongues wagging. With support from 6 Music, The Line Of Best Fit, Notion, Ones To Watch and with an opening slot for Jeshi and Gglum collaboration under his belt already, the next few months look exciting for Ray. Speaking on the project, he states:

I had spent 3 years on a project and was about to drop it in early 2021, but post-lockdown everything was different. The person I had become was worlds apart, so I scrapped it completely and started from scratch. There was only one thing on my mind when making this EP and it was identity.

Following the release of 8-track EP No Call No Show on July 14, Long Beach and Inland Empire native Thunderous Knight drops off an EP visualizer, highlighting several songs from the tracklist and following the artist through a liberating journey of self-discovery. No Call No Show embodies the realization the burgeoning artist had that if no one will show up and be there for him, that he will show up for himself. The collection of songs range in energy and style and offer a little something for everyone.

“Not showing up for one’s self is fatal to one’s reality. Realizing self love heals emotional, physical, mental and spiritual damage.” – Thunderous Knight

Named after the explosive, resounding, but ultimately balanced nature of thunder, the versatile artist Thunderous Knight intersects Outkast’s funkadelic hip hop style, Pharrell’s eccentricity, with a West Coast braggadocio.

The Long Beach native, raised in the Inland Empire, attributes his love for music and affinity for the arts to his talented parents: his mom, a rapper and his dad, a doo-wop singer. His intensely musical upbringing coupled with his personal exploration of music, which included being part of a high school beatbox collective, gave him a massive reservoir of endless inspiration that has influenced the music he makes today.

Listen to her full-length debut album, Before We Go Deeper, via Epic Records  HERE.

Flaunting a myriad of moods, her spirt shines on the single “CAUGHT IN THE MIDDLE. Clean throwback guitar threads through a head-nodding tambourine-driven beat as she relives the ups and downs of a rocky romance in a call-and-response chorus. At the heart of the track, she flexes her expansive vocal range, stretching from intimate intonation into moments of heavenly high register. The video is directed by Dennis Leupold.

With early pick up from Rated R&BVIBE MagazineUPROXXYouKnowIGotSoulandOkayplayer – BEFORE WE GO DEEPER evokes every side of INDIA’s inimitable style. “WHEN I CALL” glides on an otherworldly bounce as she urges, “Give me love, when I call, pick it up. Her voice flutters above acoustic guitar on the intimate “SAME FLOOR, while “JUST YOU” serves as sweet conclusion punctuated by a funky riff, swooning strings, and organic percussion. On the finale, she assures, “All I wanted is just you. Meanwhile, the project boasts fan favorites such as “CALI LOVE,” “DON’T PLAY WITH MY HEART, “TOO SWEET” [feat. Unknown Mortal Orchestra], “NOT TOO DEEP” [feat. 6LACK], and “MOVIN ON” [feat. Anderson .Paak].

  • Ensconced in the black hole between childhood and adulthood, a glorious degenerate-grade freedom endures. A rebellion from respectability. An anathema to normalcy. It is the type of defiance that’s hopeful—hurt by the world but looking to reconcile it. Enter Gogo Germaine and her girl gang of delinquents. As manic teens in the ’90s punk scene, they engage in a vivid spectrum of misbehavior— from truancy to tattoos to trespassing. Here, in the underbelly of adolescence, music is God and the rest is a rush of nihilism. Gogo and her friends stumble through sound and fury into questionable firsts at varying degrees of sobriety. Many of us blunder through that black hole. It is a point of universal convergence, manifested by divergent experiences. Gogo’s rebellion may look different from yours, but the soaring highs and visceral lows will be familiar.

Before joining forces in late 2019, the two creatives were on entirely different paths. After years of bouncing from city to city working different music industry jobs and one near-death experience, Rochester’s Enjel settled in LA as a solo artist and songwriter/producer/vocalist. After briefly exploring the world of cinema and directing, LA-native TAS grew into a songwriter/producer who experienced behind-the-scenes success. Individually they both wrote, produced, and engineered for notable artists like Selena GomezMeg Thee Stallion, the Ying Yang TwinsCee-Lo GreenYGZeddEminemQuavoBahari, and more. Although grateful for their careers to take off as writers and producers, they longed to create something more meaningful for themselves.

When their paths finally crossed at Rock Mafia’s Santa Monica studio, the mutual respect and chemistry was palpable. CLOUDxCITY was essentially born from the 2020 pandemic where the pair had nothing but time to develop this new partnership. The kindred spirits used their unique yet complementary energies to construct a hypnotic fusion of hip hop, electronic, and dark pop sonics that they have coined “existential hip hop.” Mysterious but not brazen, futuristic but not detached, provocative yet still welcoming and relatable – that’s what you can expect from CLOUDxCITY both on and off the stage.

Los Angeles-based singer and songwriter Goldie Vargas releases her debut EP, GOLDEN.’ The 5-track EP includes past singles like “Moving in Reverse,” “Canyon” and “Strawberry Kisses,” as well as two brand new tracks, “Gravity” and “Mary Jane.”

At just 21 years old, Goldie Vargas exudes a musicality wise beyond her years. Her music is the definition of California cool with breezy soundscapes, intimate lyricism, and dreamy melodies. Working with her producer Adam Gurr in Topanga Canyon, Goldie has spent the last two years crafting her debut EP, ‘GOLDEN.’

Goldie elaborates on her new EP: “‘GOLDEN’ was written during a time in my life where there was so much change happening  a worldwide pandemic had just started, I was at the end of my teen years and I was going through everything from breakups, mental health struggles and finding myself as a woman and not a girl.My first EP feels like a short story on what it’s like being young, sad and still trying to find a hope in this world.”

Tommy Newport is known for his irresistible falsetto-steeped indie anthems, garnering a substantial buzz with his 2018 debut, Just To Be Ironic, while he was still a teenager. Following the paramount success of 2019’s Tommy Gun EP and 2021’s Ultra Mango EP and Liquid EP, Newport continues to develop his euphonious sound.

Having received plenty of critical acclaim along the way from the likes of The FADER, Complex, Hypebeast, High Snobiety, Pigeons & Planes, PAPER, Lyrical Lemonade, COLORS & more, Tommy is continuing to prove he’s a force to be reckoned with. At only 21 years old, Tommy’s already toured extensively across North America & Europe, been championed by legendary tastemakers like Zane Lowe & Giles Peterson, and collaborated with Grammy nominees EARTHGANG.

Born Oliver Milmine in Manchester, England, Newport moved to the United States at a young age, eventually settling in Kansas. There, he picked up the guitar and taught himself how to produce music on his computer. Consolidating his style and sound into something rather extraordinary, Newport has created his own funky, psychedelic style of pop with his falsetto vocals riding atop bulging basslines, grooving guitar, melodious keyboards and electronic grooves. Inspired by a mix of early-2000s bands like MGMT, The Killers, and Phoenix, he’s received musical placements on shows like Search Party, Ballers, Expecting Amy, an Apple iPad commercial and What/If.

Queer|Art, New York City’s home for the creative and professional development of LGBTQ+ artists, in partnership with The Robert Giard Foundation, is pleased to announce the winner of The Robert Giard Grant for Emerging LGBTQ+ Photographers, Chen Xiangyun, and runner-up Camilo Godoy. This year’s awarded projects celebrate the richness of intimacy within queer communities.

Chen Xiangyun will receive a $10,000 cash grant to support the development of her body of work which documents first and second-generation QTPOC immigrants across the United States. The work renders images of queer intimacy and vulnerability, especially among people of color, through authentic visual representations of their worlds. While photographing, the artist interviewed each sitter and asked about how their cultural backgrounds informed their experiences of being queer in America. Xiangyun’s ongoing series depicts people of diverse ethnicities, queer identities and regions, charting the emotional intricacies of queer life.

On receiving the 2022 Robert Giard Grant, Xiangyun writes, “I’m very honored to receive the Robert Giard Grant and I can’t wait to begin traveling the country to meet and photograph more queer people of color. It is my goal to increase queer visibility, portray the richness and complexity of our emotional experience, and reach more diverse ethnicities. As a Chinese lesbian immigrant and emerging photographic storyteller, this grant is an exciting opportunity for me to realize my ideas and grow my LGBTQ+ and art communities. I am very grateful for this award.

Camilo Godoy will receive a $5,000 cash grant to support his long-term project AMIGXS, a series of assertive photographs of friends and lovers engaged in acts of love and lust. The project is inspired by 20th century queer photography and publishing legacies sustained by erotic publications like Physique Pictorial and Sierra Domino. Through AMIGXS, Godoy manipulates scale to toy with the boundaries between the private and the public – presentations of each photograph range from zine to billboard. Ultimately, the photographs in AMIGXS celebrate friendship and insist on love as a way of life to imagine subversive ways of being. Hi

On being named runner-up for the 2022 Robert Giard Grant, Godoy writes, “Support for queer artists is fundamental to resist the ongoing catastrophic and conservative moment impacting us. Receiving this funding from the Robert Giard Foundation is an affirmation of my work. It is also a celebration of my relationship, and the people in my photographs, to the wonderful queer legacy of Robert Giard and of the many artists he photographed.”

Organized in partnership with The Robert Giard Foundation and Queer|Art, The Robert Giard Grant for Emerging LGBTQ+ Photographers supports and promotes self-taught, early career or otherwise emerging LGBTQ+ artists, awarded on a yearly basis. This support is vital for emerging artists, who may lack the financial resources or institutional support available to more established artists. 215 applications were received for this award cycle. The 2022 judging panel comprised artists and arts professionals across the United States and Europe including: Jacqueline Francis, Naima Green, Sunil Gupta, Lorena Molina, and Jennie Ricketts

Speaking on working with acclaimed producer JBMADEIT, Lady Ice says “It was so organic, our energies collided and we made magic. He got the assignment the moment he added the first instrument. He’s a natural hit maker, having worked with the likes of Drake, French Montana and amazing UK legends like Central Cee, Headie One and more. I was in safe hands!”

Talking about ‘Up North’ she says ” It’s the ultimate Northern anthem and what is missing from music conversations. I’m unapologetically showing my native tongue and being the fun me, content wise and sonically. ICE IS BACK! But to take over. You’re about to see a side you never witnessed on rap game”.

Los Angeles-based DIY rock band The Paranoyds announce their fall North American tour with support from MillyUpchuckTchotchke, and Bad Waitress alongside a brand new single, “Single Origin Experience,” out everywhere now, along with a lyric video. Get tickets now here and stay tuned for the band’s highly anticipated sophomore LP, Talk Talk Talk due out September 9 and available for pre-order now,  via Third Man Records.

Before the official fall tour kicks off, The Paranoyds will support Jack White for three dates this September including Asheville, NC, New Orleans, LA and Shreveport, LA. Find a full list of dates below, and grab tickets via linktr.ee/theparanoyds.

On “Single Origin Experience” The Paranoyds reckon with both America’s shameful history and current shady antics by the government and top corporations. The track opens with fuzzy, layered vocals that sing, “Nihilism bobbleheads, misogynists but working on it / American means shaking hands and stealing land / Modern horror is unmotivated / Moving through the days unabated.” “Single Origin Experience” exemplifies the band’s effortless blend of eccentric societal commentary with sincerity over grainy guitar and a magnetic hook that remains in one’s head long after the song is over.

The track pokes fun at society’s plunge into a hyper-surveilled, hyper-marketed, and profit-driven circus. Explaining the meaning behind the song, guitarist and vocalist Lexi Funston says, “Sometimes an event happens or a news report comes out or whatever and you’re just so bummed about what it means to be American. It can be so exhaustingly cringey. Companies spying on us and “green-washing” their products in hopes of selling as a “pure” life, a branded experience. what the fuck right? Does single origin coffee really taste any better???”

Long Island, NY – Koyo have released new single “Call It Off” taken from the forthcoming 7inch which includes previous singles ‘Straight North’ and ‘Ten Digits Away’  shipping December, on Pure Noise Records.  The single takes on a rare stance for their band with their first acoustic track showing the band has another side to them.

“Call It Off is a stand out track in our discography, largely because it’s the only proper acoustic song we have. There’s no songs in our back catalog quite like it, nothing on the new LP we’ve been recording that’s like it. But that’s why I think it’s special. It’s a standalone, stripped down, time and place track.” says singer Joey Chiaramonte.  “A lot of my lyricism and writing naturally ends up connecting songs conceptually, continuing to develop prior ideas or feelings. With previous singles, ‘Straight North’ is a sister song to ‘Heaven So Heavy’, ‘Call It Off’ serves as a sister song to ‘Ten Digits Away’. “

composer, actor and vocalist Boychik, the musical moniker of Ben Levi Ross, announces their poignant debut self-titled LP due out September 9, along with a brand new, stirring single and video, “Next to You,” out everywhere nowPAPER Magazine, who debuted the single and video for the album announcement, says “Next To You” is an “orchestral highlight of Boychik’s 10 total tracks,” adding that it “sees Ross reflect on anxieties surrounding their childhood.” Their new website and line of Boychik merch also launches today.

The highly-anticipated arrival of Boychik, the self-titled, ten track body of work, is years in the making. It’s one that carefully chronicles the deepest parts of the multi-disciplinary artist Boychik, and the multi-dimensional person, Ben. It necessarily brings Boychik’s queer voice and lived experiences to the forefront, bearing their heart on their sleeve, but not without bandages and bruises. “There’s a lot about the release of this record that scares me. I’ve sat on this music for many years. For a long time, writing music was a very private solitary act. But I found collaborators that created an environment for me to open up this music safely.” They continue, “Being able to expand this sound into what it is alongside Jake Luppen, Nathan Stocker and Brad Oberhofer was one of the greatest joys of my life.” With such an intimate collection of music being made public, Boychik hopes the forthcoming time capsule is handled with care.

Indie pop duo Chaos Emeralds are thrilled to release their new album II that is out now.

The band says, “With II we set out to make a tour de force of classic indie electro-pop. The first half would be suited for an impromptu dance party with friends, while the other half digs deep down and launches the listener into space like a cosmic slingshot, rocketing past their worries and doubts Ultimately, floating in a hopeful place amongst the stars.”

Known for soaring melodies and spellbinding synthesizers, Nashville-born electropop duo Chaos Emeralds pair feather-light falsetto with driving, electronic beats to conjure the woozy energy of summer love, glittering dance parties, and modern, existential freedom. There’s a captivating cleanliness to their sound, reminiscent of European electropop acts like Phoenix and M83, but distorted and enriched by the combined virtuosity of Ellsworth’s classical piano and Andrews’s slick production. Chaos Emeralds music feels both hyper-familiar and brand-spanking-new: pure pop melodies made sleek and surprising, cinematic swells that just keep expanding, and a pure intensity that’s hard to shake, even long after the tracks fade. With the July release of their sophomore album II, Chaos Emeralds solidify their standing as lovable, hyper-creative hitmakers at the forefront of the indie-electropop scene.

FUTURE CAVEMEN has returned with the defiant new single: “Battle Scars”.

WATCH VIDEO HERE | STREAM ON ALL SERVICES HERE

Following his beguiling EP ‘II’ released earlier this year, the new cut sees Future Cavemen blend enigmatic riffs with wonky electronics that tingle with electricity and squirm amidst fuzzy reverb and jangling percussion.

Battle Scars” owes to a range of retro influences whilst simultaneously making a break for the offbeat allure of the future.

Written in a 1970s block of flats hemmed in by Clissold Park on one side and continuous building works on the other, Future Cavemen explains of the track’s inception:

“Recording new ideas was tricky because there were only small windows of time to make noise without disturbing neighbours or having my efforts swallowed by relentless engine noise. I was getting into mangling electronic stock beats and making them my own. Taking something pristine, tame, pretty lifeless .. And making it raw and energetic, violent.”

Rising London lyricist J-Racks unleashes his explosive new drill burner “Free Flow 2” – his second ignited offering of 2022.

Returning to the scene following a string of significant drill cuts that firmly placed him as a rising London talent, J-Racks’s sharp, potent lyricism across relentless instrumentals emerges as an unconventional breath of fresh air. Shining authority and cruddy bars on full display, “Free Flow 2” returns as the successor of smash single “Free Flow” (1M streams on Spotify). The Slim Typical (M24, Wiley, RV) produced record serves up an array of woozy 808s and snappy drill percussion, while the young talent incites familiar flows from affiliate rappers across the UK sound sphere – mixing them sonically to fully showcase an artist at the peak of his versatile ability, possessing both natural rap talent and a crystal-clear lyrical aptitude.

Despite only nine tracks across his discography so far, J-Racks has quickly amassed a cult following – his vigorous persona catching the attention of UK heavyweights

M1llionz and Ivorian Doll, as he edges into the mainstream spotlight with key play time from Snoochie Shy on BBC 1XTRA. Sitting on well over 3M streams and 40K monthly listeners has empowered acclaim across the likes of GRM DAILY, DUMMY, MIXTAPE MADNESS, EQUATE, 9BILLS and WORDPLAY MAGAZINE.

Arkells share new track, “Human Being” featuring Lights, ahead of their seventh studio record, Blink Twice, coming September 23rd via Virgin Records / Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company.

“We wanted a chaotic energy – something like Talking Heads meets Billy Joel,” says frontman Max Kerman. “We are learning a lot about ourselves on this record. This song is about finding a truer version of yourself – the one you’ve hid in the past. The song is searching for a kind of freedom that conventional life paths have to offer. Once we had it in good shape we sent it to our friend Lights who is the best at writing about this kind of discovery.”

“To me, this song feels like an anthem for seeking out moments and people that can make you feel something,” says Lights. “We all need a shake up and we all hate being stuck in a rut. We all, as humans, share commonalities and needs that bring us together.”

18 year old Armani Jackson spent the last decade performing alongside top names in Hollywood and building a solid resume for himself in television and film. Armani plays a lead role in the new YA Paramount + Honor Society film releasing July 29th opposite Angourie Rice and Gaten Matarazzo and top lines the new Wolf Pack series from Teen Wolf creator Jeff Davis. Wolf Pack follows a teenage boy [named Everett]  and girl [named Blake] whose lives are forever changed when a California wildfire awakens a terrifying creature. Armani is currently in Atlanta filming the series to release this fall.

Armani spends his free time developing scripts for his production company Blue Velvet Productions and recently started a mental health and drug addiction foundation with his family.

While he’s created solid onscreen momentum for himself and his career, Armani has also been creating his own music. After delving into his musical talent last year, Armani has already produced a number of genre-defying alt hip hop meets R&B singles – partnering with The Morgue (Trey Songz, Lil Yachty, Saweetie, Quavo, Rihanna).

His latest single, “Roll With Us” is an autobiographical song about facing a lot of doubt from others throughout life. He confides, “I wanted to write a song that symbolizes a big fuck you to the ones who said I wouldn’t accomplish what I have. I also wanted to make this song for the people who feel like outcasts that don’t necessarily “fit in” to remind them that even if you haven’t found your pack just yet, you can always roll with us.”
