Rozes – “Treat Your Right”: This has to be my favourite song off her latest album ‘Used To Love You’. American singer-songwriter ROZES is an absolute star, and this track is a prime example of that. Check out her album this song “Treat You Right“.
Cheat Codes (feat. Jimmie Allen) – “Lose You”: LA Based trio are back with a new track featuring Jimmie Allen. The song is taken off the Cheat Codes brand new album ‘One Night In Nashville’. The Cheat Codes said about the track, “We had been following Jimmie for a while and love that he’s not afraid to be himself. He has such a rock star style and sound, but he’s one of the most down-to-earth guys.”
Jimmie Allen said, “I’ve been a fan of Cheat Codes for a while. They did a song with my friends Lee Brice and Lindsay Ell, and the co-writers of ‘Lose You’ are friends of mine – Nick Bailey and Levon Grey. Man, I get to work with Cheat Codes and do a song written by two of my friends? I’m all about it! We’re just glad for the song to be out for the world to hear it.”
Amindi – “Love Em Leave Em” (feat. Kari Faux): Los Angeles-based artists Amindi and Kari Faux have arrived with a new infectious song called “Love Em Leave Em”. Amindi spoke with Complex about the song;
“I wanted a cinematic representation of girls being about their money and prioritizing their bread in the same way boys do. I just love movies and I wanted this music video to feel like a short film with a happy ending for the girls and a not-so-happy ending for the boys. But who cares? This isn’t about boys! This is about the money, about the bread, about bags.“
“Love Em Leave Em” is featured on the film Like A Boss, which features Tiffany Haddish, Salma Hayek, and Rose Byrne.
BANKS – “Anything 4 U”: “Anything 4 U” is taken from BANKS studio album “Serpentina”. It’s an alluring R&B bop that feels seductive and hypnotic. It’s less cold and more an urgent proclamation of devotion. If you haven’t heard BANKS before check this song out and you’ll become a fan quite quickly.
Big Wild – “6’s to 9’s” (feat. Rationale): Big Wild’s “6’s to 9’s” is a tongue-in-cheek love song featuring singer Rationale from the producer’s album Superdream. He spoke with Billboard dance about the track;
“I had been trying to work with Rationale for a long time,” Big Wild’s Jackson said. ” I finally connected with him, sent him a few demos, and he really gravitated towards one of them. He sent me back these incredible vocals and lyrics and I knew there was something great here. I then went back in and finished the production and arrangement to really maximize his voice and the hook.”
Conor Maynard – “If I Ever”: Maynard’s latest track, ‘If I Ever’ is sure to please his fanbase and bring new listeners to this R&B pop star.
“‘If I Ever’ is the first of a series of songs I wrote about an extremely difficult breakup I went through last year,” Maynard recalls. “It was a unique relationship and hard to write about, because 90% of it took place over phone calls and video calls, which I understand was common during the pandemic. This song captures my emotional experience following that breakup, and the anticipation I continue to feel about my upcoming appearance in her hometown of Sydney, Australia, since in our last conversation, she told me she still hopes to see me there.”
“Sonically, this song is very different from any of my previous work, drawing inspiration from artists like The 1975 and The Weeknd,” Maynard continues. “The song may sound quite upbeat and positive at first, but upon a closer listen, you’ll realize that the lyrics are about a desperate heartbreak. I collaborated with one of my close friends on this track, writing and scrapping more than 50 songs over the course of a few months before we finally found a way to translate the story in a way that felt authentic to me.”
Feki – “Built To Last” (feat. RØRY): Australian producer Feki has a makes a move into the electronic/pop spectrum with his latest song ‘Built To Last’. It features RØRY who’s adds a nice soulful addition to the song. This reminds me of the early days of Ellie Goulding.
Julia Wolf – “Virginity”: New York indie-pop darling Julia Wolf has released her deeply vulnerable new track “Virginity” via BMG. While “Virginity” marks Julia’s third song of the year, it is also the first track she has co-produced. It was written when she was 19 and put aside until now.
Lost Kings – “I Do” (feat. Slush Puppy): I’ve always been a massive fan of Lost Kings, and this is exactly why. Delving into influences of alt-rock and pop-punk, “I Do” tells the story of pretending to be over a past relationship. Lost Kings consists of the Los Angeles-based duo Rob Gainley and Nick Shanholtz.
