Is Blockbuster Video Making A Comeback?

Blockbuster video was a weekly visit on a Friday and Saturday night for most families in the 80s and 90s, but on-demand movie options from streaming services put an end to it all, with rentals available with the click of a button. Blockbuster announced in 2014 it would be closing, there was no viable way the brick and mortar stores could compete.

A cryptic message on Blockbuster.com has sparked rumors that the ill-fated video store might be staging a comeback, especially seeing as the website is live again after all these years. The message reads: “We are working on rewinding your movie.”

It is unclear when the Blockbuster website was activated or updated, and Blockbuster no longer has an active public relations email. I guess we’ll have to wait and see what eventuates.
