Teaser: Based On Viet Thanh Nguyen’s Award Winning Novel, HBO’s ‘The Sympathizer’

HBO has released the trailer for its limited series “The Sympathizer” based on Viet Thanh Nguyen’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel. The limited series is an espionage thriller about the struggles of a communist spy during the final days of the Vietnam War and his resulting exile in the United States.

Robert Downey Jr. is set to play multiple supporting roles in the show. Filmed in Los Angeles and Thailand, the series debuts sometime next year on HBO. It comes from production company A24.
