Born into a large Italian family and raised by divorced parents in Westchester, New York, 25 year old Allison (Ally) Petitti moved to Los Angeles, CA in 2016 in dreams to be in the entertainment industry. Ally joined USC’s Music Industry Bachelor of Science program. After graduating from USC and with a big passion for music, she was immediately hired as an administrative assistant at Interscope Records. Now, Ally is putting her main focus on growing her podcast and sharing her personal stories with guests alike.
With new episodes of “Trying to Figure it Out” dropping each Tuesday, Ally shares the most genuine version of herself and also invites guests to share diverse, interesting stories. They connect on relatable topics such as, mental health to toxic relationships, trauma, addiction, body culture and more. As an impressive feat, Ally’s first podcast guest included the widely popular actress, dancer & content creator Jordyn Jones (10M+ followers on TikTok & 7.9M+ followers on IG). She also had castmates on from the wildly popular Netflix series “The Ultimatum“, Colby Kissinger, Madlyn Ballatori and April Marie and now in Season 2, Jax Taylor from Vanderpump Rules and Thais aliabadi to name a few!
Ally creates a safe and open space where she and her guests organically grapple with the myriad daily tribulations and annoyances that threaten to “impede, deter, or outright destroy” them, as she herself has stated. From the brain tumor she was diagnosed with in 2021, to debilitating bouts of depression and anxiety brought on by both the diagnosis and several abusive relationships, alcoholism in her family and her parents’ divorce, Ally holds nothing back. She is a true example that there is “light at the end of the tunnel”, providing advice and guidance for so many going through similar struggles in young adulthood and beyond. She hopes to serve as a positive voice in creating change in the stigma around mental health. She is also very passionate about getting into modeling and building herself as a relatable, influential and empowering woman in the entertainment industry.
On her free time, Ally loves listening to all types of music genres, cooking, hiking, golfing, Pilates, yoga, movie nights, video gaming, shopping and playing with her adorable mini–Australian Shepherd, Bowie!

Hi Ally, welcome back to OLC! You’re now into season 2 of your highly successful podcast “Trying To Figure It Out”, can you tell me about some of the guests who have graced your podcast and who are some exciting ones you have lined up?
Ally: I’ve had some really great guests this season including Jax Taylor, Craig Sheffer, Dr. Aliabadi, Lenin Torres, and many others. It has been super rewarding seeing how much that’s resonated with people and how much people have enjoyed hearing from them. We have some exciting guests lined up that you’ll just have to wait and see to listen to.
You’re very open and honest about your struggles on your podcast, can you tell us about some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced and how you overcame them?
Ally: I have struggled with my mental health since I was a kid. I have panic disorder and anxiety disorder. More recently, I have been struggling with PTSD and borderline depression, which was something I had never really experienced before. I can’t say how I’ve overcome it, but I can say how I’ve been living with it. How I’m attempting to deal with it is through support from friends, therapy, and trying to understand what these labels and terms actually mean and how you can live with them. We are always looking for a quick fix or cure, but these are lifelong chemical imbalances that unfortunately won’t just disappear. So, for me, I’m just trying to face it every day.
When you started “Trying To Figure It Out”, did you set yourself goals or things you wanted to achieve?
Ally: Not really. The goal for me was just doing it and being consistent with it. I needed to gain the courage to put episodes out of me talking about personal things, which could be considered another goal. Every achievement I have had since has felt amazing because I didn’t expect anything other than the support from my friends.
You advocate for a positive change around conversations concerning mental health, what does a positive change look like for you?
Ally: Affordable, accessible, and equal access to mental health care. If you can’t afford it, you can’t get the best, and that’s an issue on its own. I also think another positive change would be destigmatizing everything about labels and medication. Also, if you don’t feel comfortable labeling yourself, you don’t have to, but you can still seek and get help.
Who are some of your mentors or support networks that have helped you achieve success along the way?
Ally: I have a few mentors and family friends that have been in my life for a long time. I am super grateful for them and how they’ve helped me find my way. Also, my team in general is a huge part of my support system because they’re in the room while I’m sharing all this stuff every time. We’ve become super close and I’m grateful for their sensitivity and thoughtfulness while working with me.
Who is your biggest inspiration and why?
Ally: My dad. He always finds success in everything he does and that’s just because he loves what he does. He never does something that he doesn’t love, and he sticks to what’s best for him. He bases all of his decisions out of love, and it always works out for him. It has been really inspiring to me to see him build that success from the ground up. It’s such a joy to watch and learn from that.
What are some of your favourite books, podcasts or resources that you like to use or that other people can use to help them live with a healthier mind?
Ally: I think something that is authentic about my podcast is that it really comes from all my experiences and ideas. So, I try not to dive too deeply into other podcasts or resources. However, I sometimes dabble in different podcasts in order to support those creators for speaking up on this topic.
What does a perfect day to unwind look like for you?
Ally: A perfect day to unwind might be going to the beach or a nice street where I can walk around, shop, and grab a smoothie. It doesn’t look the same every time and what’s most important is just waking up that day and seeing what my body wants me to do. That could be waking up at noon one day or getting up early another. It is just whatever my body needs in the moment.
What’s one piece of advice you’d like to leave with our readers on how they can make a positive impact in society?
Ally: I would say just to follow what you believe in and if you’re authentic in that and stay true to whatever it is, then you’ll find success. To make a positive impact in society is to push the boundaries and barriers of what’s acceptable to talk about and feel comfortable doing so. Don’t be afraid of one person judging you, because if one or two people judge you but ten people get help from it, then you’re doing a better thing than a bad thing.
