INsiders Guide: ARTEMAS, Jonah Kagen, HANGING FREUD, Peri Rae, Jenny Stenger…

self-taught pop savant Artemas shares his latest propulsive alt-pop banger, “just want you to feel something.” Listen to it HERE via 10K Projects.

In addition to “just want you to feel something,” Artemas also unveils a grunge version of his viral hit “if u think i’m pretty.” Listen to it HERE. Deviating from the formula of releasing a sped-up and slowed-down version of each song, the young star completely recontextualizes 2023’s yearning anthem into a guitar-laced fever dream you can’t sweat out and continues the momentum. The release arrives a month after the original version, which has quickly zoomed to over 14 million streams.

Like much of the London-based musician’s infectious creations, “just want you to feel something” is a whiplash-inducing thesis statement of the multitudes contained in Artemas’ voice, production style, and songwriting. Deep synths tickled with hi-hats are laced with Artemas’ intoxicating and breathy falsetto, toeing the line of inhuman highs and sultry lows.

The 24-year-old musician’s dark R&B leanings transport listeners right into quiet night drives, lingering glances in the club, and the anticipatory feeling after the door lock clicks. “just want you to feel something,” which is just as much Fiona Apple as it is The Weeknd, is another notch in Artemas’ belt that’s sure to satisfy fans and create new ones.

Since releasing a song nearly every month since May, the pop savant hailed by Ones to Watch as “one of the most consistent new artists in recent memory” has racked up tens of millions of streams and built a strong community through the power of the internet. If Artemas’ dazzling falsetto sounds familiar, it’s most likely because of his aforementioned inescapable smash “if u think i’m pretty,” which has racked up an astonishing 14 million streams in one month and over 90k TikTok videos.

Also announced this week, Artemas will make his headlining debut at London’s The Lower Third on February 14 with the promise of more live shows to follow. Get tickets HERE.

singer and songwriter Jonah Kagen shares his new EP, ‘The Roads,’ out on Arista Records. The 6-track EP includes recent hit singles like “The Roads,” “Pollution,” “Made Up My Mind (ft. Lily Meola),” and “18,” as well as two brand new songs, “This Life Ain’t Easy” and “Save My Soul.” The EP’s title track, “The Roads,” has seen recent momentum, climbing at US Triple-A radio, with support across 15+ stations and counting, and receiving a stamp of approval from Zach Bryan.

Jonah continues to challenge the boundaries of folk, rock, and pop with his new EP. Pairing his signature acoustic-driven sound with heartfelt musings, Jonah captures the universally relatable feeling of trying to figure life out.

“‘The Roads’ is a story of decisions and consequences,” Jonah says. “Each song represents a distinct moment in my ongoing quest to ‘figure it out’ and what those moments did and continue to do to me. Each is a road that I’ve taken that has shaped and continues to shape who I am. I hope people can find a piece of themselves in these stories, and I encourage you to listen with an open heart and an open mind. I wrote these songs to land anywhere—take them as they are, or as they are to you.”

Glasgow-based duo HANGING FREUD join hands with the Belgian label Spleen+ (division of Alfa Matrix) for the release of “Worship”, their most personal and emotive full length ever.

On this 7th studio album, Paula Borges and Jonathan Skinner continue refining their unique sound identity that nobody managed so far to narrow down to one specific music style, often evoking influences and elements of post punk, ethereal, synthgaze, cold wave, ambient pop or yet experimental electronica.
With the heartbeat of a drum machine as metronome, Paula’s vocals are dark, haunting, almost glacial, her enunciation is both plaintive and full of echoing fragile grace. While the cinematic music warps them all in a melancholic ethereal cocoon made of mechanical funeral melodies, icy minimal sequences and suffocating synth atmospheres. The overall ambience is dense, lingering, almost claustrophobic, but so poignant and uplifting that it takes you by the throat and touches you at the deepest end of your soul.

The 10 songs featured on this album literally come from a place of contradiction hanging somewhere between courageous vulnerability and fearful resilience, and deal with themes such as collective distress and loss, finding beauty in tragedy or yet questioning about what makes us human in the symbolic contrasts of life and death.

It’s no surprise to hear that this “less is more” introspective ode to melancholia was written in particular claustrophobic circumstances during the pandemic lockdown. “Because of what was going on, we were essentially stuck in temporary accommodation in Scotland, away from our studio and forced into a period unexperienced before. The songs that came out therefore come from a different place. Everything was done within a laptop and is proudly 100% digital. It was recorded and mixed while literally sitting on the side of a bed in a mouse infested apartment…” explains Paula Borges.

Strong from their somewhat nomadic past with multicultural backgrounds of coming from Sao Paulo (Brazil) and London (UK), HANGING FREUD sign here a timeless chef d’oeuvre full of beautifully dark simplicity, an emotional body of work that is uncompromising and genre defying at the same time. If you missed HANGING FREUD so far, the moment has come to fall under their freezing spell and addictively hit the play-button again and again.

“Worship” gets released as a limited vinyl edition available in 2 different colours: transparent violet and transparent turquoise (150 copies each worldwide) as well as a lush double-CD digipak with the “Anomalies” bonus EP just like in the Bandcamp download

Cornwall based singer/songwriter Peri Rae unleashes her brand new single ‘small talk’, which is an incredibly strong offering that vocalises the painful transition of going from best friends to strangers, to the sound of a raw, guitar-driven melody.

“small talk’ is the break-up anthem you’ve always needed. Get ready to scream in your car about that boy that dumped you. I hope it helps you get through it.”

With music that “tenderly excavates raw and deeply vulnerable experiences,” according to Grimy Goods, Jenny Stenger has embarked on her next emotional rollercoaster of love, anxiety, and self-doubt with her latest single, “What Ifs.” The indie pop track captures the all-too-relatable moment when the fear of the unknown overrides the exhilaration of newfound affection. Stenger’s lyrics paint a vivid picture of the emotional turmoil that accompanies these choices, where the fear of self-preservation takes over the pursuit of love. “What Ifs” is available now on all streaming platforms.

The song encapsulates the powerful yearning we feel for a love tinged with the ever-present fear of its potential loss. Stenger’s ability to capture this emotional tightrope walk is nothing short of captivating, leaving listeners with a hauntingly beautiful reflection on the fragility and strength of the human heart. “This song is about the aftermath of realizing you self-sabotaged and ruined a chance at love and hoping that chance is still there,” Stenger explains. Lyrics like, “I can’t push you away, then I ask you to let me in. God I want you to stay, but I’m the one who did this,” portray the regret that dawns upon us when we recognize that we let potential love slip through our fingers. Stenger’s emotive and soulful vocals bring these poignant lyrics to life, evoking the raw and vulnerable emotions that accompany the song’s self-reflective journey. “What Ifs” was co-written and produced by Seth Wentland, who masterfully brought the song to life.

Since the release of her debut single, “Better,” in January 2022, Jenny Stenger has journeyed into the depths of the complex and emotional human experience through her brand of music that Grimy Goods calls “lush lovelorn pop.” Her first album, Trying My Best, released in November 2022, delved into themes like unreciprocated affection, envy, and the struggles of the psyche, firmly establishing her presence within the sad girl songwriter scene alongside contemporaries like Gracie Abrams, Lizzy McAlpine, and Phoebe Bridgers. Stenger’s music has been touted in the press by Ones to Watch, Grimy Goods, Divine Magazine, and more.

Rising pop powerhouse Lily Lane has released a cover of Darlene Love’s “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home).” Joining the likes of Mariah Carey, Michael Bublé, Keke Palmer, U2, and Cher, who have all released versions of the Phil Spector-written classic, Lane selected the sad girl seasonal single as a way to finish out the year – her last as an unmarried woman – with a song that exudes confidence, power, and fearlessness while blending modernity with nostalgia.

“Christmas (Baby Please Come Home),” which is streaming now on all digital platforms,  wraps up a busy 2023 for Lane, who launched three original singles this year, “Woman’s Intuition,” a duet with Sophomore, the music project of Academy Award-nominated Abigail Breslin, “Throne,” and most recently, “Where Have You Been All My Life,” a track described by Earmilk as “an emotional odyssey that will resonate with anyone who has questioned their journey of self-discovery.” The introspective holiday cover continues the vibe of the 2023 trilogy of releases, channeling Lane’s signature sound highlighted in Music Connection Magazine as a “blends retro-soul with modern pop that presents it with a hint of old-school Hollywood glamor.”

Epic Records is proud to present Jabari Banks, the newest addition to the Epic family, and his debut single and music video, “Something Else,” now available for streaming and viewing. The song is produced by Ayo The Producer (Beyonce, Omarion), and the video is directed by Joshua Medina.

Jabari makes his major label musical debut today with “Something Else,” but fans may recognize him as the man who plays Will Smith on the hit Peacock series Bel-Air, the famed dramatized remake of classic sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air from earlier this year. Actor-turned-artist? Hardly. Banks is an artist, period. “Here at Epic, we could not be more excited that he chose to explore the musical facet of his journey with us…” says Ezekiel Lewis, President of Epic Records. “Jabari is a multi-hyphenate young superstar in the making. Artists like him represent the future of entertainment and we could not resist the opportunity to join and assist with his upward movement.”” he echos. Jabari adds,“With the creation of Something Else, I wanted to give life to the grey areas of infatuation. I wanted to share where I was in that time, and I feel like along with my team we executed that well. Also very excited be to be taking this first step with Epic Records, shout to Sylvia Rhone & Ezekiel Lewis for being headlights for the vision.  I have a lot more to give, thanks for being here on this journey.”

As a small-town Russian girl with big dreams, Ksenia has successfully made a name for herself, garnering over 400k followers across Instagram and TikTok and millions of streams across all platforms. Ksenia began integrating her brand of tongue-in-cheek comedy into her music, often poking fun at the cultural follies of her homeland, while leaning into observational humor around societal issues. She’s now taken that comedy component directly to the stage, and has been performing her stand up routines across the USA (The Laugh Factory, Comedy Cellar NYC, The Hollywood Improv, The Hollywood Comedy). Ksenia has consistently delivered infectious hits, with her 2020 release of “Fire with Fire,” reaching #47 on the iTunes pop chart while also gracing billboards in New York’s Times Square. Notably, Ksenia’s collaboration with Stevie Mackey on “Only Want You More” reached #28 on the iTunes pop chart.

Distant piano, vintage synths and faded orchestral arrangements resounding in spacious natural reverb. Nick Schofield’s Ambient Ensemble sees the Canadian composer and synth maven expanding his solo practice with an ensemble, adding his signature ambient essence to contemporary-classical and electronic music.

Where his previous two albums (Water Sine, Glass Gallery) were entirely solo endeavours and synth-focused, Ambient Ensemble invites gregarious group play. The compositions feature a chamber ensemble of grounding double bass and sliding fretless flourishes, warm violin and soothing vocals, with convivial accents of clarinet. Compelled by natural elements and intuitive composition, Ambient Ensemble is a refreshing assembly of acoustic works by Nick Schofield.

In January 2020, the album began with patient piano improvisations recorded in a church during deep Canadian winter nights. The sparse piano sketches were then slowed to half-speed and layered with classic Moog and Juno-6 synthesizers. After the project received funding from the Canada Council for the Arts in 2023, the ensemble was formed with luminaries of the Gatineau/Ottawa music scene, featuring Yolande Laroche (voice, clarinet), Mika Posen (violin) and Philippe Charbonneau (fretless electric bass, double bass).

Citing the blissful spaciousness of pioneering new age flutist Joanna Brouk as a central inspiration, Ambient Ensemble lands delicately within the contemporary cannon alongside artists like M. Sage, Blue Lake, Ana Roxanne and Joseph Shabason.

Vancouver musician Steve Maddock shares his new single ‘Holy Man’ out now on all digital streaming platforms via Salt Spring Records. Listen here.

‘Holy Man’ is the first single from Steve Maddock’s new album Jack Of All Trades, which is set for release on February 16th. Sung in a classic crooner style, the ardent romantic ballad pulls at the heartstrings as hints of jazz and blues shine through on the pop song.

“The song is about a young man talking with his father about his new girlfriend,” says Steve. “The older man tries to tell him what real love is all about but he doesn’t quite understand, he feels that he already knows what love is. As he ages, he comes to understand what his father was talking about: ‘that special kind of love’.”

Over the past two decades, Steve Maddock has been steadily establishing himself as one of Canada’s most versatile vocal talents. Whether sharing a concert stage with a 65-piece symphony orchestra, performing with a 10-piece show band on a cruise ship, or fronting a jazz trio in a local club, he’s able to change gears effortlessly and present the music in a way that’s honest and fresh. Steve’s first love is jazz, but he is equally at home with blues, pop and musicals.

Steve is currently on the Jazz Faculty of Capilano University where he has taught private voice, vocal jazz masterclass, studio performance, vocal improvisation and ear training. He works as an adjudicator and clinician at many different Canadian music festivals.

Intensely beautiful and rich with unabashed emotion and a whole lotta love, Simone Keane’s fifth album Graced By Leaves is sure to touch even the most stoic of hearts. Produced by Lee Buddle of CRANK STUDIO, Perth Western Australia (Kelly Clarkson, Gurrumul Yunupingu, Justin Bieber) the production values in this contemporary folk album have a warm, pure integrity. Each song references trees – from making love under one to being buried beneath another. The opening song Those Beautiful Times prepares us for the journey starting with the optimistic innocence of childhood with lyrics like “homemade butterscotch puddings and nursery rhymes” and“seesaw a swing set and a rocking horse with China blue eyes” invoking memories of a simpler, naive time.

Trees are both literal and symbolic conduits for the stories within Keane’s songs.  In the title track, we learn about a cherished childhood tree that gets cut down. This symbolises the grief we feel when someone close to us is taken from our lives and the subsequent confusion around this. Keane sings, “The air in this place doesn’t feel quite the same as when we were graced by your leaves.” Graced by Leaves, the song, presents a metaphorical ode to the dead and a statement about the air we breathe losing its freshness when devoid of trees.

Lucky Oceans (dual Grammy award musician) plays pedal steel on the title track and select songs throughout the album. “I wanted a nostalgic feel for the title track as well as Those Beautiful Times, Birds, and some country injected into the cheeky four-way acoustic jam, Re-Leaved.” Says Keane of Ocean’s work on the album.

Graced by Leaves is a timeless album with universal themes of personal reflection and childhood memories, complete with instructions for a natural burial in My Wicker Burial.  “What’s a folk album without a burial song?” says Keane. The songs carry brevity, from the popular catchy folk-pop single Kicking up the Leavesto the soul-stirring folk blues tracks with a hymn-like quality BirdsThe album carries the listener on a gentle journey of deep, rapturous, and mournful emotion.

Keane’s tender honey-toned vocals evoke a yearning for simpler times. The album holds a timeless quality with Keane’s inner child voice meeting the adult, for a heart-to-heart. Her voice is complemented beautifully by singing instrumentation including the violin, particularly on the title track. “When I was ill with long COVID, all these childhood memories came back. As a child, I was unwell with recurring lung infections.  I was feeling quite sensitive when I wrote a lot of these songs and contemplating the fragility of life and how important it is to take time out of our hectic lives to commune with nature and appreciate our friends and family.” Says Keane.

Karri Trees in the Raina collaboration with poet Giles Watson, gives listeners an insight into Keane’s love of natural places of worship. “Giles sent me a poem consisting of three verses to use in a song. I loved the poem so much that I wrote the song and decided to include it on the album. I then added the bridge at the end where I sing, ‘I’m on my knees under Karri trees, their healing shade, a cathedral graced by leaves.” Continuing, Keane says “I knew in that moment I had the title of the album and a theme – trees.”

Musicians on the album include Lucky Oceans (Asleep at the Wheel) on pedal steel and dobro, Ben Franz (The Waifs) on bass, drummer Bronton Ainsworth (Adam Hall and the Velvet Playboys), Phillip Waldron on double bass, French Australian violinist Marie Limondin, Rosco Dwyer on lead guitar, Kiersten Fage on cello, special guest cellist Kevin Gillam on My Wicker Burialand Those Beautiful Times. Guest violinist Ellie Honeybone plays on Birds along with Bass flute by Producer Lee Buddle. Grand Piano by the UK’s Phil Richardson (Helen Townsend), with percussion, acoustic guitar and vocal harmonies by Simone Keane.

Simone Keane is a previous dual WAM Song of the Year winner after five nominations, a first for a regional artist.  She is from the deep, lush, mysterious southern coast of Western Australia.

SITA (style icon Sita Abellán) releases a new single, “XTASIS CARNAL,” via Héctor Oaks’ label KAOS. The new track is the second single off of her official debut EP, Generacion XDISIS, due out January 15, 2024.

“XTASIS CARNAL” (which translates to “CARNAL ECSTASY” in English) is a visceral concoction of SITA’s ultra-confident attitude, displayed through her mischievous lyrics and a vicious yet tantalizing bassline. She aligns with fellow Barcelona-based producer Cardopusher for the release, who in the past has worked with similar groundbreaking artists such as Arca and LSDXOXO. Like SITA, Cardopusher specializes in forward-thinking rave-inspired music. Together, they combine as a formidable duo, delivering dark, heavy, Eurodance-touched techno with a distinctly indulgent sound.

SITA vividly spins a lust-drenched tale on “XTASIS CARNAL” with lyrics like “No existe noche / No existe día / Solo el derroche de tu boca y la mía” (translation: “There is no night / There is no day / Only the waste of your mouth and mine”). Outfitted with her firmly established aesthetic through her previous creative projects in fashion and music, SITA is equipped to serve as a new type of storyteller in the realm of techno.

Hua Li 化力‘s project has often worked the fruitful tension between opposing forces, whether being mixed-race, bisexual, or overtly political and softly vulnerable.

New single “Cherrier” is a song about coming of age in the late noughties in the Montreal neighbourhood, Plateau-Mont Royal. Grounded by a driving synth bass line, the song leaps from 2009 to 2019 and back again as Hua Li attempts to overturn traumatic memories of people and places she tried to avoid but kept getting pulled back to as a performer and DJ.

“Thankfully, since writing this song, I’ve been able to kiss again on Rue Cherrier and reclaim these parts of the city from a place of healing and celebration,” she says.

Emerging from Prague, NOANNE is an artist whose melodious tales paint vivid landscapes of raw emotions and unconventional perspectives. She weaves a mesmerizing tapestry of sound, drawing listeners into her realm of introspection and self-discovery. In a world where conformity reigns, NOANNE stands as a delightful enigma, finding solace and inspiration within her introverted nature. The stages of theater, the reels of film, the realms of music and the captivating world of Artificial Intelligence (AI) become her sanctuary, where she sheds the veil of self-consciousness and steps into the spotlight of pure artistic expression. It is through these immersive artistic mediums that she reveals her true essence, leaving no corner of her soul unexplored.

NOANNE’S latest release is a stunning video for the acoustic version of “Goodwill” which delivers a unique and poignant approach, delving into the darker aspects of the holiday season. This video, a departure from the usual festive cheer, is designed to narrate a story of loneliness and introspection during a time traditionally associated with joy and togetherness.

Set in an old Hollywood style, the video features NOANNE, donned in a shimmering white dress, delivering an emotionally charged performance on a theater stage. The stark contrast of her attire against the backdrop of black curtains and a black stage artfully symbolizes the darkness that often surrounds us, even amidst the glitter and glamour. This setting is a deliberate choice to emphasize the timeless quality of the narrative, steering clear of specific time references to create a more universal and enduring message.

As the video unfolds, it interweaves scenes of NOANNE wandering through the city, embodying a solitary figure amidst the festive hustle. In a poignant twist, she is seen carrying a Christmas present, a symbolic representation of the gift of understanding and embracing one’s solitude. This visual metaphor powerfully conveys the idea that loneliness can be a profound and insightful experience, offering a deeper comprehension of our true selves.

Unlike the original version, the acoustic rendition offers a distinctly different vibe, one that resonates more deeply with the introspective and somber themes of the song. This version was not initially planned, but its creation reflects the artists’ desire to challenge the conventional expectations of festivity and happiness during the Christmas season.

The acoustic video for “Goodwill” is a bold and artistic statement, inviting viewers to explore the darker, more reflective side of the holidays. It stands as a testament to NOANNE’s creative vision, blending the elegance of old Hollywood with a narrative that acknowledges and honors the complexity of human emotions during a time often oversimplified as merely joyous.

Having moved between Dayton, Atlanta and the City of Angels, Twin Hector has a wealth of musical experience to draw from. His influences extend to Michael Jackson, Lil Wayne, Drake, Future, and Jay Z. One thing they all have in common is the ability to make music that is punctuated by classic production and Twin Hector is no different.

The Los Angeles based contemporary artist famed for his penmanship, capacity to act as a performing & recording muse, as well as a record engineer, has become the voice for sweet and transparent anthems that mostly revolve around courtships, love and relationships.

Releases like the gushing ode to girlfriend Blac Chyna “Loving You is Easy”, the rampaging “Attendance”, and smitten, rose-tinted record “For You” all suggest that Twin Hector is locked in.

His upcoming album What A Time II Be Alive features lush settings iced with glamor, musings on a honeymoon phase, and deep profiles on Hector’s inner-psyche. The album’s focus track “Genie” chronicles a blossoming relationship over the backdrop of a lavish LA partyscape.

Twin Hector’s latest single “Special” is a romantic, deeply devoted R&B track that ruminates on the fated connection of finding the person you’re meant to spend the rest of your life with.

Twin Hector demonstrates an ability to be tender, authentic, original and honest. No stone is left unturned as the artist endeavors to bring good news to the hopeless, a vision to the blind and to live in the Almighty’s favor.

With a voice that transcends the spirit, poetic and distinct wordplay oozing passionate embraces, beauty is a place where the brave live. Unafraid to tell his story, be present in the moment and celebrate life.

Built around the melodic and lyrically oblique songwriting of Irish-Persian musician Sam R., Glassio has become one of New York City’s staple Indie-Electronic outfits over the past 7 years, garnering millions of streams online and amassing a loyal fanbase around the world. Born out of a love for applying a melodic sweetness to brooding dance beats, the indie-pop outfit has carved out a unique sound that often bridges influences from Big Beat to Chamber Pop to New Wave.

Born and raised in both Sharjah in the Middle East and Monterey in California, Sam R. fell in love with music listening to Pet Sounds and Graceland on his way to school in the mornings. “It was that  juxtaposition of hearing Brian Wilson’s harmonies in a very barren, desert/Arabian landscape that I think planted the seeds for my love for making music that mixes different influences and challenges associations you might have with certain instruments,” Sam explains.

A Debut EP Poptimism was released in 2016 to critical acclaim and viral success with lead single “Try Much Harder” peaking at No. 9 on the Global Viral Charts on Spotify. A series of singles and the Age of Experience EP followed in 2018, further cementing Glassio as an act that “proves that electronic music and great storytelling are a perfect match.”

A full length album, For The Very Last Time, was released via Downtown Music in 2020, garnering over 7 million streams online, and recognition from Bandcamp as one of the best electronic albums of the year. The record featured guest vocals from Brooklyn-based songwriter Daneshevskaya. Follow up album, See You Shine, made waves in Europe, charting at No. 1 on multiple iTunes Charts around the world. Lead single “Breakaway” was featured in Amazon Studios’ feature film Don’t Make Me Go and Netflix’s Locke and Key.

2023 and 2024 will see the release of a string of collaborative singles, starting with “A Friend Like You” featuring LA-based Indie-Dream-Pop artist Beauty Queen, and follow up single “Will You Still Come Back Tomorrow?” featuring Rodes Rollins and Mumble Tide.

Sharing where the inspiration for her new single came from, Tragic Sasha expresses: “This track is about your real identity versus your internet persona and wrestling with those two versions of yourself. The world is getting more and more digital and ‘Prettier In Person’ asks the question; is this a good or a bad thing?”

SALEUM and Just Reality have teamed up with City Lake on an effervescent new single ‘Forget me’. The combined talents of all three artists make for a joyous listening experience that showcases their individual creativity as well as their undeniable synergy as a collective.

Speaking on the story behind the track, SALEUM shares: “The track is about loving a narcissistic person who begins to lose sight of the relationship, and in the midst of it all, you begin to blame yourself for it all falling apart.”

Blending her gut-wrenching lyricism with flawless whisperpop vocals, Ashley Elle’s latest single, “Spring Street,” is her most vulnerable, yet relatable piece yet. Join Ashley Elle, as she opens her heart and takes fans on a profound journey in “Spring Street,” now available on all digital streaming platforms.

Propelled by its tenderhearted melodies and piano structures, “Spring Street” feels familiar and comfortable as Ashley Elle expands on the memoir of a touching family experience. “I wrote and recorded this song after I’d just found out that my parents were separating,” she recalls. “The lyrics came straight from my journal, and the final vocals used were that of real and raw emotion. Music is truly my therapy, and this song was my way of trying to conceptualize the feeling a child may have when grieving undeniable changes and separation of their family.” Produced by Cazz Brindis, “Spring Street” is sprinkled with emotional and harrowing pain drawn from her firsthand experience, yet it is evident that this track is also a song of strength, beauty, and power. Family is important to us all, but no family is the same. Ashley Elle comes to this realization as she dives deeper into her childhood experience through this song. With lyrics like, “Family doesn’t mean everyone stays there forever” and “Our family’s not perfect, but we try to be.” The mother-daughter relationship can be one of the most valuable parts of a young girl’s life, even when it’s not perfect. With “Spring Street,” Ashley Elle effortlessly puts these complex emotions into words. “I hope anyone who has gone through a similar situation, or maybe just someone who’s dealing with a loss of proximity to a loved one, can find comfort in this song and know that no matter how isolated you may feel, you are never alone.”

Pop star in waiting, Lisa Curtis, has released her gut-wrenchingly honest single, “Made For You,” an intoxicating and ultra-relatable track that takes listeners on a journey inside the vulnerabilities inside her mind and the complexities of young love.

Showcasing her vocal ability and musical range, “Made For You,” now available on all digital streaming platforms, is a poignant and stirring ballad blossoming into a rock anthem. Capturing the confusion and heartache of early adulthood, the single’s building soundscape mirrors the intensifying emotions of the song’s narrator, who is willing to do, say, or change anything for the person she loves, even if it means losing herself. Like her last single, “No Rest,” which touches on the universal theme of loneliness amplified by the global pandemic, Curtis explores the broader spectrum of emotional challenges in “Made For You.”
