A huge 2024 is on the H3rizon. The rising Australian girl group kicks off the year with a bang, and today releases two new singles and music videos as a double feature. “Naughty” + “Wanna Love You,” produced by GRAMMY® Award-winning icon Tricky Stewart and directed by Timon Wehrli, are out now.

Fresh off the heels of “You Don’t Know Nothin’,” the fan track H3rizo n released late last year as a global introduction to its new era, “Naughty” and “Wanna Love You” arrive as a robust preview of what H3rizon will be offering this year. The trio made up of Bernie, Gabby and Tiara seamlessly blend the traditional R&B atmosphere of “Wanna Love You,” where their vocal talent shines brightly, with the club-driven “Naughty,” an uptempo number that gives the girls’ physical chemistry an opportunity to take centerstage.  H3rizon’s range jumps not only out of the speaker but also off the screen. The two official music videos highlight the group’s charismatic and magnetic energy with “Naughty” additionally highlighting the triple threat trio’s dance skills.

In late 2023, the Sydney-based trio announced that they were the first Australian and first Asian-Pacific girl group to sign with Epic Records, in partnership with RZ3 Recordings. With that, they shared the harmony-driven record “You Don’t Know Nothin’,” which gave stateside fans a glimpse of what the talented trio had been cultivating as they generated momentum around the globe.

Stewart himself gushes about the talent he was met with when he first dove into the world of H3rizon“This is a very high bar that we play at, and there’s a reason why we’ve been here this long. H3rizon meets all that criteria—and more.”

Dive in today with “Naughty” and “Wanna Love You,” and stay ready for a debut project, coming soon.

• Next up for Stroll is a moving and imaginative cover of Billie Eilish’s “My Future,” slated for release on January 19, 2024.

JACK
“Try To Arrive Alive”

• JACK releases “Try To Arrive Alive,” produced and co-written with Rick Carson (GRAMMY-nominated producer and engineer of Make Believe Studio) and featuring string arrangements from Ian Aellio. It follows the Omaha indie rocker’s recent covers of “Bitch” by Meredith Brooks, “Patches” by Clarence Carter, and “Love Will Keep Us Together” by Captain & Tennille.

• “This song was inspired by the pursuit of my own dreams. I wanted to encourage others to pursue whatever it is they feel like pursuing and to accept that it may take longer and be much harder than anticipated. The important thing is to always stay true to yourself, even if that means a career change later in life or the pursuit of something others see as a hobby.” – JACK

• JACK is launching a co-headline “True Love Tour” with Social Cinema throughout the Midwest this February.

New York psych-garage four-piece The Thing announce their sophomore album The Thing Is with the release of its third single “Midnight.” Three minutes of perfectly calibrated overdrive, “Midnight” sees the band punching the time clock for impending doom. Fast, driving, and unrelenting, this new cut is another taste of what’s to come from their second record arriving on February 2 — Presave

Built up by Zane Acord, Jack Bradley, Michael Carter and Lucas Ebeling, The Thing is on an endless crusade when it comes to achieving the exact sound they’re looking for, religiously indebted to the DIY forefathers who came before. Formed in 2022, The Thing jump started their success once they fell in love with being on the road and fans started experiencing their live shows. Committed to doing everything they can in-house, the band records at their East Williamsburg studio Onion Records, creates their own visuals, and has crafted a visual identity that marries the grit of the 90s with the effortless temptation of the 70s.

On the inception of “Midnight” The Thing shared, “The initial idea came from a drunken stupor years ago when we were jamming in our living room. We spent close to an hour just on the one riff. We’ve been enjoying writing this way, entering a trance and trying to find a song amidst a cacophony. Eventually, we revisited this voice memo during our recording session for this album.”

Continuing, they said, “We whittled it down and settled on a form but had not found the lyrics. So, on the tail end of our most recent tour, we spent a few nights in an Airbnb in the Appalachians. The lyrics were inspired from conversions about nuclear weapons and how our time on earth is measured by a doomsday clock countdown. We were asking existential questions and affirming our belief in a creative life. We felt the spy-like essence to the instrumental fitted that lyrical theme nicely.”

Rising underground icon HoneyLuv and house legend Roland Clark team up for collaborative new single ‘This Is My Life’ out now via Nothing Else Matters.

Destined to shimmy its way throughout clubland, ‘This Is My Life’ is a refreshing merge of old-school and new-school spirits. Kicking into gear with winding melodies, hearty basslines, and rolling drum patterns, ‘This Is My Life’ will instantly have club-goers moving as Clark sings, “I dance all night / It’s my salvation / Love is the message / My motivation”. Exuberantly optimistic in lyrics and sound, ‘This Is My Life’ exudes the positive mentality that HoneyLuv has weaved into the fabric of her artistic brand.

“‘This Is My Life’ has been in the works for a few years now. So happy to release this one with my good friend Roland.” – HoneyLuv

—21 Savage

On the day his third solo LP, american dream, arrives, 21 Savage keeps his foot on the gas with the release of the album’s first music video, for the London On Da Track-produced “redrum.” The video, directed by British director Danny Seth, is set in Savage’s hometown of Brixton in London, UK during Savage’s homecoming trip in December. The trip marked the first time Savage was able to return to the UK since he was 12 years old.

[Watch: ‘american dream’: The 21 Savage Story’ trailer]

The video begins with a satirical account of what many consider to be “the real London”: Big Ben, vintage red telephone booths and buggy cabs. The narrator cheekily suggests that “redrum” is the real London, and 21 Savage’s presence is immediately felt as Brixton youth flank the rapper and rally their support, from packed out balconies to bike convoys. London welcomes its native son back with open arms.

american dream is Savage’s third studio album as a solo artist. The GRAMMY winner is up for five awards at this year’s ceremony, including “Best Rap Album” and “Best Rap Song.”’ american dream features Travis Scott, Young Thug, Metro Boomin, Doja Cat, Summer Walker and more, and is available now.

For two albums Parisian quartet Hoorsees received heaped praise for their 90’s inspired sardonic, guitar pop steeped in equal parts melancholy and nostalgia. Returning with their third LP, Big, via Howlin’ Banana and Kanine Records, Hoorsees channels less Pavement or Weezer and instead, embrace their French roots. Evolving a synth pop sensibility, they don’t manage to completely shake their adoration of American sounds though, complementing warm walls of electronic pads with angular riffs that pay tribute to The Strokes. Big is not just a stylistic shift for the band, but also a shift in responsibilities. For the first time, Alex Delamard (voice/guitar) shares lead vocal duties with Zoe Gilbert (vocals/bass), with both continuing to be backed by Thomas Gachod (guitar/keyboard) and Nicolas Coste (drums).

From the corner stages of low-lit blues bars, to the spell-binding spectacles on theatre bills, Logan Richard’s beckoning melodies have swiftly risen to prominence in the Canadian music scene. As a Prince Edward Island-born songwriter, guitarist, and producer, Richard has built and continues to hone his catalogue of original music, the likes of which have already been featured in noteworthy TV and film sync placements, such as: Netflix’s Ginny & Georgia, City TV’s Hudson and Rex, and Hockey Night in Canada.

Since launching his career as a solo artist in 2017, Richard has had significant success with radio play on both CBC Radio 1 and 2, and has amassed over one million streams on Spotify alone. His latest EP, Learning to Love (2023), showcases a tender, reflective side to his songwriting— an impressive variation to his previously well-established high-energy pop hits. The evolution in this work is showcased brilliantly as he bears his heart and soul without sacrificing the production of his previous works.

As a three-time Music PEI Award winner and ECMA nominee, Richard has been widely recognized for his musical contributions, including his nomination for 2020’s Music PEI SOCAN Songwriter of the Year, and for his achievement in winning the New Artist of the Year in the same cycle. In 2022, he was selected as a participant for the RBCxMusic “First Up” Program which saw him take his honed-in, lively stage show to showcases and industry events across the Maritimes. In that same year, his self-titled debut album won Music PEI’s Soul/Pop/R&B Recording of the Year.

Richard is becoming a sought-after session and live guitar player, and his career continues to show signs of remarkable growth, spanning genres of: Blues, Pop, R&B, and Indie Rock. This year, with the direction of acclaimed Songwriter and Producer, David Myles, Logan Richard’s sophomore album is well underway and set for release in 2024.

Since 2015 The Dream Eaters have evolved from a dream pop band into a full-on video art project with an extensive catalog of weird and darkly humorous music videos of their catchy pop songs. The duo started working together after vocalist Elizabeth LeBaron, originally from Calgary, started working at the same bar as singer/songwriter Jake Zavracky, originally from Boston, in the Gowanus neighborhood of Brooklyn NY.

The pair made several EPs before releasing their first full length album We Are A Curse in 2017, followed by their second album, Pagan Love, in 2018, and toured frequently all over the Eastern US and Canada.

In 2019 the pair started working on a web series called “The Dream Eating Freakshow” which they began releasing in September of 2020. Since then the band has released hundreds of videos on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube and have grown a cult fanbase.

Fie Eike is a composer, songwriter and producer, born and raised in Denmark, to Norwegian parents. Based in Copenhagen, her atmospheric songs and compositions are often inspired by experiences and childhood memories from nature, especially the Danish forests, the coastline of The North Sea and the fjords and mountain landscapes of Norway, where she would spend her summers growing up. Through melodic and playful instrumentation, her compositions are laced with a deep emotional imprint and infused with a Nordic sophistication and mystery. Fie Eike also captures this atmosphere in photographs and other artwork, stating that visual expression is an integral part and extension of her writing and composition process.

Fie Eike’s debut single, “The Nile” is written, performed, produced and mixed entirely by herself, allowing the artist to have complete creative control and deliver an authentic and honest release.

Inspired by nature, “The Nile” encapsulates the feeling of entering into a dark forest on your own or plunging into cold dark waters where you cannot see what hides beneath the surface. “The Nile” invites the listener on a journey to overcome fears and explore darkness with presence, curiosity and eyes wide open, whilst also encouraging us to understand that darkness is not only something to fear but something that holds great potential for presence, reflection, light and magic. According to Fie Eike, exploring darkness in nature can inspire us to explore and embrace the darkness in ourselves and in life, by accepting and being present with the discomfort and fear the darkness may produce, while at the same time being curious and open to the wonder, beauty and potential it holds.

The theme of “The Nile” exists in a juxtaposed unafraid soundscape. Both restricted yet free flowing, somber and sophisticated yet with a dire ironic undertone, the song moves elegantly between art-pop, neo-classical and electronica. The hypnotic track features an insistent slow repetitive rhythm layered with piano and drum that purports a countdown of some sort, into the unknown, accompanied by dramatic cello and Fie Eike’s hauntingly captivating vocal that moves with emotionality and elasticity.

The songwriter shares, “I feel like we live in a time where we have, in many ways, developed a kind of allergy towards darkness and fear as something we should avoid. But trying to deny the existence of darkness and fear only allows it to grow over time, and eventually it gains more power over our subconscious and our lives.” According to Fie Eike, darkness doesn’t grow when we embrace it and shed light on it. Quite the opposite, she continues, “It is my experience, that daring to explore the darkness and being present with it, not only expands our capacity for darkness but also expands our capacity for light, happiness and joy. In the end, there is no light without darkness and no love without fear.”

Fie Eike’s new music has already received support from Koda Kultur and the Danish Musicians’ Union. 2024 is set to be an exciting year for this artist on the rise.

Emerging from Prague, NOANNE is an artist whose melodious tales paint vivid landscapes of raw emotions and unconventional perspectives. She weaves a mesmerizing tapestry of sound, drawing listeners into her realm of introspection and self-discovery. In a world where conformity reigns, NOANNE stands as a delightful enigma, finding solace and inspiration within her introverted nature. The stages of theater, the reels of film, the realms of music and the captivating world of Artificial Intelligence (AI) become her sanctuary, where she sheds the veil of self-consciousness and steps into the spotlight of pure artistic expression. It is through these immersive artistic mediums that she reveals her true essence, leaving no corner of her soul unexplored.

Following the release of her debut single “Goodwill”, NOANNE unveils the hauntingly beautiful “White Glove.” The stunning track weaves a narrative deeply infused with a sense of magic and fairy-tale-like wonder, juxtaposed with the somber reality of a fading love. It’s a tale of a woman who, immersed in the echoes of a once vibrant relationship, finds herself clinging to the threads of a story that has lost its color. The songwriter shares, “The removal of the white glove is her desperate, almost theatrical attempt to challenge the norms, to provoke a reaction from her beloved, as if beckoning him to a duel not of swords but of emotions and memories.”
Drawing inspiration from the artistic motifs of Marc Chagall, the story is painted in vivid hues of love, enchantment, and sorrow. NOANNE explains, “Chagall’s ability to blend reality with fantasy, to imbue the mundane with a sense of the extraordinary, mirrors the song’s exploration of a love story that oscillates between the realms of a dreamy past and a stark present.” “White Glove” is an invitation to set aside the rational world and enter a space where emotions are raw and unfiltered, offering a rare opportunity to engage with music on a profoundly personal level and allowing it to become a part of your own emotional and sensory tapestry.

Inspired by a quote from astronaut Neil Armstrong, new single “Running Out Of Heartbeats” finds chief songwriter Jake Shillingford in a philosophical mood and theorising on how love, life, and how we live it, could be playing with our human hearts and our overall longevity.

As Shillingford explains of the track:

“On returning from the moon and on his withdrawal from public life Neil Armstrong allegedly said: ‘I believe every human has a finite number of heartbeats. I don’t intend to waste any of mine’. Finite Heartbeat Theory suggests we get roughly 2.5 billion beats throughout our lives. I wanted to explore if we can put a value on each heartbeat. Do we lose more through the palpitations of love, or leading a dynamic life? Or are we wasting our heartbeats by taking the easy life?”

Pairing lyrics laced with an ebullient, uncontainable sense of discovery, and arrangements that glisten with a fresh feeling of unlimited possibility; “Running Out Of Heartbeats” is evidence of a band who five albums and over three decades into their career still believe the sky’s the limit.

Running Out Of Heartbeats” will feature alongside fellow singles “Numb Numb Numb”, “Tits & Attitude” and “I’m A God”, on upcoming album ‘Loving You Is Killing Me’ (out 9th February, via Exilophone Records/Republic Of Music), alongside six brand new tracks. Pre-order it here.

Wynona Bleach are: Melyssa Shannon: Vocals, Jonny Woods: Guitar / Vocals, Aaron Black: Guitar, James Foy: Drums, Carl Gilmore: Bass

Mixing alternative rock, shoegaze and power pop, Wynona Bleach are a 5-piece from Belfast, NI.  2021 saw them sign to legendary indie label Fierce Panda (Coldplay, Placebo, Death Cab For Cutie); in early 2022 the band’s debut album “Moonsoake” was unleashed, unveiling an exciting and energetically passionate body of work, screaming battered hearts and fractured emotions. The band’s latest single is the sassy and dreamily lush “Swim In The Bay” – available from all download and streaming platforms from January 24th, 2024.

Wynona Bleach have come a long way since forming in 2018 as “R51” and have achieved much in that time: performing at BBC Introducing stages at Reading & Leeds Festival, a 12-date headline tour of Russia, and support to rock legends Feeder, The Slow Readers Club, Lonely the Brave, and more…. Their accomplishments only stacked up further when in late 2022 they were nominated for the Northern Ireland Music Prize for both Album and Live act. A winter tour in 2022 culminated in two shows at Other Voices Festival. The band had arrived.

How do you define Wynona Bleach? Just one listen of their current “Moonsoake” album immediately tells you they possess a defiant, raucous, rock energy but also that their genius amplifies a gloriously sweet and pretty ‘colour palette’, the music underscored and embellished by Melyssa’s trademark ‘Bubblegrunge’, scathing, little-girl-crossed vocals. In that sense they are wonderfully indefinable. Continuing this fragrantly anomalous theme, it is perhaps unsurprising the band signed their record deal in a beach hut located in a landlocked locked down beer garden in downtown Brixton!

“Moonsoake” was recorded immediately after the band was personally chosen to support Alice in Chains for the sold-out Irish leg of their 2019 world tour. It was recorded with Bill Ryder-Jones in an abandoned factory in Portugal, complete with a full recording studio determinedly hauled over there by the band from their hometown. The album also features tracks mixed by Grammy nominated Andy Bradfield and Avril Mackintosh, who have had extensive careers working alongside artists including Manic Street Preachers, Tori Amos, Bjork and Rufus Wainwright, to name a few.

The band started 2023 by doing a BBC Sounds live session and interview, and a successful first visit to the USA with huge, brilliantly received, showcases at SXSW in Austin, TX, and New Colossus Festival NYC. A prestigious support slot followed with indie rock legends Ash on the Irish leg of their UK and European tour. Now in 2024, the band are excited to ascend the next stage in their musical evolution with their highly anticipated, yet-to-be-named, sophomore album later in the year.

Few are poised to have the 2024 Tyla is about to have.

PRE-ORDER TYLA HERE.

The South African star’s hit single, “Water,” dominated the year and earned the 21-year-old singer and Amapiano/Pop star her first career GRAMMY award nomination. Now, just before Tyla heads to Los Angeles for this year’s ceremony as “Water” competes for “Best African Music Performance,” she enjoys another career landmark: “Water” is certified RIAA platinum!

It’s been a deserved ascent for Tyla who has cemented herself as one of the brightest stars in music this past year. In addition to scoring Top 20 placements on a variety of global Billboard charts, Tyla’s “Water” also received multi-platinum certifications in South Africa (3x) and Brazil (2x), as well as additional platinum certifications in Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Ireland. Gold certifications were achieved in UK, France, Portugal, Norway, Denmark, Netherlands, Sweden, Greece, Turkey and Belgium,—a massive global hit in every sense of the term. Stateside, “Water” peaked at #7 on the Billboard Hot 100, a coveted Top 10 placement as a solo artist, making her the highest charting African female soloist in Hot 100 history.

The song has also spawned two remixes—one with Travis Scott, the other with Marshmello—that feature two globally renowned artists that help achieve Tyla’s stated mission: to bring her native sound of Amapiano to new ears and audiences.

Tyla has turned everything she’s touched into gold in the last six months. To end the year, Tyla delivered a multitude of high profile live performances, capitalizing off the notoriety she gained by making her national TV debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in October.

The ‘Fallon’ set has been viewed over eight million times online, just the beginning of Tyla’s TV prowess. On the season finale of The Voice, NBC’s Emmy-winning singing competition program, Tyla’s scene stealing performances of “Water” and “Truth or Dare” helped the show conclude its 24th season with a bang. On the very last day of 2023, on ABC’s legendary Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve broadcast, Tyla punctuated her star-turning year with one final 2023 performance of the song that took the world by storm. Even President Barack Obama named “Water” as one of his favorite songs of the year during his annual playlist reveal.

The Allman Betts Band has announced their first US tour since 2021 and they will kick things off on May 16 in Charleston, SC.  Individually, they’re Devon Allman and Duane Betts, two solo artists and modern-day guitar heroes who’ve both spent years creating their version of American roots music.

Inspired by the classic sounds of the group’s family tree, The Allman Betts Band makes timeless rock & roll for the modern world, blurring the boundaries between blues, Americana, and southern soul.
