Zooey Deschanel Signs On To Lead Amazon Rom-Com ‘Merv’

Zooey Deschanel is set to star in an upcoming rom-com called ‘Merv’ for Amazon MGM Studios. The film will follow the story of an estranged couple that “learns that the dog they share is suffering from depression following their break-up, awkwardly reconciling over the holidays when they take their dog on a sunny vacation to Florida to lift his spirits.”

Jessica Swale is set to direct, while Matt Baer and Roma Downey are attached as producers. It’s written by Linsey Stewart and Dane Clark.
