Hi Eva, welcome to OLC! Can you share the story behind the viral “Smile!” TikTok video that garnered 66.5 million views, and how did it impact your online presence?

On New Year’s Eve, I was not sure of what to film. I had my camera, so I decided to create something impromptu. As I started recording, a thought struck me – what if I intentionally acted like the viewers didn’t smile in the first take? The idea was to play with the viewers’ perceptions, making them wonder if I had actually seen them smile or not. The result? A quirky and unexpected video that captured the essence of the moment. Initially, I hesitated about sharing it, but after showing it to my younger sister, her enthusiastic response was all the encouragement I needed. She said, “Just post it!”. With her vote of confidence, I decided to post it. And you know what? It turned out to be a hit!

With 5 million followers and 160 million likes on TikTok, what strategies do you employ to keep your content engaging and maintain a strong connection with your audience?

When it comes to my videos, I think it’s important to eliminate any dead space. I believe that keeping the audience engaged is crucial – even a moment of silence can cause viewers to click away. However, while technical quality is important, what truly sets you apart on these platforms is consistency. Platforms thrive on creators who maintain a regular posting schedule. I used to upload videos all the time – three times a day, every single day—for years. It was my commitment to consistency that propelled me to where I am today.

As a member of Twitch Team Gloom-E-girl, how has the transition from TikTok to Twitch influenced your content creation, and what unique elements do you bring to your Twitch streams?

Both Twitch and TikTok have allowed me to embrace the different qualities of each platform. On Twitch, during my live streams, I am able to be myself and express my personality. The interactive nature of Twitch fosters a deeper connection with my audience. TikTok offers a different form of creativity. The format encourages content that captivates viewers in seconds. While my personality remains consistent, I adapt my approach to suit TikTok’s dynamic.

Your online persona is defined by pink-tinged aesthetics and vibrant multicolored hair. How does your personal style contribute to your brand, and do you see it evolving in the future?

When it comes to the future, my goal is to not stick to one aesthetic. Recently, I have been experimenting with a lot of new styles and colors because I do not want to limit myself. I do not want to feel as if I need to be an “E-girl” or any type of archetype. I just want to continue to do things that make me feel confident and comfortable!

Beyond digital platforms, you’ve expressed interest in traditional media like film, television, and music. What specific projects or genres are you passionate about exploring in these mediums?

The world of film has always been a dream of mine. I have always wanted to be a part of an early 2000 themed movie such as Clueless or Mean Girls. In terms of music, I’ve been into punk music recently!

With aspirations in entrepreneurship, how do you envision translating your online success and positive brand into ventures outside of social media, and what industries do you find particularly appealing?

Taking this online success into the real world is a dream. I’m thinking of fashion, maybe some gaming-related ventures. Stay tuned for a little piece of Eva Violet in different parts of the world!

As someone known for spreading joy and positivity, how do you handle challenges or negativity in the digital space, and what advice do you have for others navigating similar experiences?

When faced with negativity, whether online or in person, it’s important to remember that it often comes from the insecurities and unhappiness of the individuals involved. People can be quick to criticize, finding fault in even the most perfect of individuals. In these situations, the best thing is to stay true to yourself and remain steadfast in your authenticity. By refusing to be swayed by external judgment and staying grounded in your own values, you empower yourself to rise above the negativity. As you embrace your true self and prioritize your own well-being, the opinions of others won’t matter.

Being a rising star, what role does your audience play in shaping your content, and how do you balance staying true to yourself while meeting their expectations?

Without a doubt, I prioritize staying true to my creative vision above all else. I believe in creating content that resonates with me personally, rather than bending to external influences or trying to meet the expectations of others. I’ve tailored my content to please a broader audience in the past, but I found that it often led to a loss of authenticity and enjoyment in what I do. I try to create a balance between the two.

In pursuing your dreams across various entertainment mediums, what lessons have you learned about adaptability, and how do you plan to navigate the evolving landscape of the entertainment industry?

Adaptability is so important! The entertainment industry is always changing, so I’m ready to roll with the punches. Learning from every experience, staying open to new opportunities, and keeping the positivity flowing – that’s the plan for navigating this crazy, exciting journey!
