The Hollywood Reporter has reported that Zach Cregger, the filmmaker behind the horror hit Barbarian, is set to write and direct a new Resident Evil movie based on the hit video game. Cregger’s new movie has created a bidding war between studios for the planned reboot movie, with Warner Bros. Discovery and Netflix becoming the front runners in the race. The film is set to be produced by Constantin Films, as well as PlayStation Productions.
