Did you know at one point a *NSYNC biopic was in development? Early reports from The Hollywood Reporter suggest it may still happen if it is able to overcome some pre-production obstacles. THR reports that Neal H. Moritz has been trying to get an *NSYNC biopic off the ground for some time. Moritz has met with *NSYNC and shopped around the project at various studios. At one stage the film project had commenced screenwriting and Justin Timberlake was set to produce the movie.
The project faced challenges though with all members of the group not being able to sign off on the project due to the fact they all “share ownership in the name and each of whom is represented by a different management firm.” Other ideas have also come to light including the possibility of a documentary but the group at this stage feel the timing of this project “feels off”. For instance, there’s not a coinciding tour.
At this time, no formal *NSYNC biopic has been greenlit.
