INsiders Guide: Ferris Pier & Brother Leo, King Kaye, TOXIC ROB, Raynes, Don Glori…

Multi-dimensional DJ, artist, and producer Ferris Pier returns with his latest single, “I Like,” an absolute, one-of-a-kind banger, one listen, game over.  Pulling inspiration from Daft Punk and Childish Gambino, this song is instantly iconic. Brother Leo’s voice is sunshine and sass wrapped in soul, bringing that secret sauce that makes the whole song pop. Bursting with pulsing beats, energetic synths, and undeniable energy, “I Like” seamlessly blends genres into an upbeat anthem that’s impossible to resist. The song is now available to stream and download worldwide.

Following collaborations with global talents like Izzy Bizu, JUNG, and Rhys Lewis, Ferris Pier continues his creative momentum with Brother Leo, whose dynamic voice brings “I Like” to life. The track hooks listeners from the first note, pairing a bright tempo with dance-pop influences, a signature blend that defines Ferris Pier’s sound. “The goal was to create something you can’t help but move to,” says Pier. “Brother Leo has this rare ability to tap into something real and make it universal. Collaborating with him feels less like work and more like a creative explosion—unexpected, soulful, and always unforgettable.” This marks their second collaboration, with the first being “Biohacking My Technology,” which burst its way onto Spotify’s New Music Friday and put Europe’s EuroPop realm on notice.

rising alt-electronic artist King Kaye has released his new single “Enlighten Me.” The track is entirely self-produced, written and recorded, alongside Alex Poeppel (Roger Waters, Lil Nas X, Telescreens) who mixed and mastered the song at Kensaltown East NYC. Starting off as a poem reflecting hours of research on overcoming hardships, the anthem serves as an affirmation to enter a higher state of being. Using the contrasting low frequencies of ground shaking bass and the highest screams of synthesizers, King Kaye uses the abrupt change mid-track to symbolize entering a state of divine awareness and cosmic understanding after being lost for so long.

King Kaye also shares the accompanying visual, taking inspiration from Tarot’s Major Arcana cards. In the final shot (see above), the songsmith takes his place as The Magician, which represents the potential for success and the need to tap into one’s resources and talents. Behind him stands the Shadow Self (the hidden and repressed aspects of one’s personality that may not be consciously acknowledged) posed as The Hermit, a sign of seeking inner truth and wisdom.

It’s about to be a Toxic Summer — and Toxic Rob is leading the charge with his latest genre-fusing EP set for release on May 23rd. Blending Latin-infused rhythms, punchy hip-hop flow, and a pop-electronic flair, TOXIC SUMMER is  the ultimate soundtrack to the season.

TOXIC SUMMER  is a five-track EP that cements Toxic Rob’s place as a genre-blending force. From hip-hop to Latin-infused rhythms to club-ready dance beats, the project proves one thing above all: you can’t put him in a box. It’s a bold showcase of range, confidence, and effortless mic control. No matter the tempo or vibe, Rob’s smooth delivery and melodic instincts shine through. He’s clearly in his element, no matter the sound.

The EP kicks off with “GET LITE”, a bouncy drill anthem where Rob glides over the beat with slick bars and an earworm hook, a certified gift to hip-hop heads. “TABLA” brings the heat with Latin percussion and high energy, tailor-made for festival stages and dance floors. At the heart of the EP is NOT LIKE ME,” a groove-heavy dance cut that invites movement and shows off his playful side. “50 WAYS” leans into an introspective trap, with sharp lyricism and melodic flow that cuts deep. Closing the project is “$OLDI,” a hypnotic track built around an addictive sample, where Rob reflects on manifestation and momentum, rapping like someone who knows the life he’s living was written in the stars.

Toxic Rob’s journey started in his family’s home studio, where he was producing and engineering tracks for clients by the age of 16. A childhood love for songwriting laid the foundation, driving him to keep refining his craft and carving out his place in the music scene. After pursuing audio school, he dropped a string of releases, including the breakout hit “Dhunga” with TroyBoi racking up over a million streams on Spotify and landing him on stages at Project GlowHARD Summer Fest, and the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheater. Performing alongside TroyBoi and getting an official remix from Brody Jenner further stamped his arrival. With his latest release “Pants,” Toxic Rob continues to push boundaries.

For Toxic Rob, music is an extension of his persona and we can only expect more flames to come with TOXIC SUMMER.

Known for their intricate vocal harmonies and unique instrumentation as well as their poetic lyrics, Raynes combine their diverse influences to form a group that draws inspiration from around the globe. Incorporating elements of folk, rock, and chamber pop with Celtic and world music to create a wholly original—and difficult to categorize—sound that has become the British-American trio’s own. Although they have yet to headline their own tour, the band’s immense stage presence and star studded force has landed them opening slots for Ringo Starr and His All-Starr BandThe Young Dubliners, and Yachtley Crew. “Your Mouth Is a Garden” is the third single from the upcoming EP Bloom.

this is Melbourne/Naarm multi-instrumentalist, Don Glori. The album’s title is an old Chinese proverb, roughly translated as ‘you can’t deny the truth’. This underlying thread is woven between the songs. “A lot of them are in some way about truth-seeking, observations and the masks you put on to deal with life (hence the cover art)”, Don mentions.  Recorded over two hot summer days in Rolling Stock Studios in Collingwood, Naarm, the lineup of musicians is built up of Don’s friends and family. Featuring the backbone team of Tim Cox, Al Kennedy, Joel Trigg, Robyn Cummins and Lachlan Thompson (who were part of Don’s touring band before he relocated to London), and a stunning selection of vocalists in the form of ML Hall, Ruby Dargaville, Isadora Lauritz, and Bianca Kyriacou. Also gracing the album are trumpeter extraordinaire Audrey Powne, saxophonist Joshua Moshe, and Alcides Neto who sprinkles some Brazilian magic into the record. Taking influence from artists including Azymuth, SAULT, Jordan Rakei and Lynda Dawn, as well as from London musical beacons such as NTS and Total Refreshment Centre, Don has run with this, leaned in and come out with a record truly unique to himself and his distinctive core, with no mask necessary.

California-based duo MOVIESTARZ released their latest single “Invited,” a high-energy, electronic pop song with a tongue-in-cheek take on not wanting (or needing) a party invite. The song captures an unapologetic attitude, pushing back against the pressure to fit in or network for clout.

MOVIESTARZ is the new creative endeavor from best friends Tyler Nichols and Alex Pombar. While Nichols is drawn to pop music, Pombar brings in his background in EDM and hip-hop, resulting in a sound that’s both nostalgic and entirely fresh. They have created a full musical experience incorporating genre-defying sounds, standout visuals, and high-quality fashion for a community of people looking to break boundaries and defy the mundane.

Leaning into the Y2K aesthetic, they recently exploded on to the scene with their debut single “Club Punk,” an energetic, edgy anthem that serves as the perfect introduction to their sound. “Invited” continues to support MOVIESTARZ’s mission to smash genre boundaries and create something entirely unique.

Sydney Sprague has just released her new single and music video, “As Scared As Can Be”—a frantic, cathartic anthem that dives headfirst into the emotional wreckage of unrequited love. In her own words, “As Scared As Can Be’ is the most unhinged song I have ever written. It is a manic, headbangable doom spiral about unrequited feelings, paranoia, and the humiliation of being desperate for attention from someone who clearly doesn’t want you back…” Raw, painfully relatable, and irresistibly catchy, the track captures the exact moment where vulnerability collides with self-destruction—and somehow makes it sound like a banger.

Global hitmaker Alan Walker and Indian superstar King have joined forces for a powerful cross-cultural collaboration. Their new single, “Story of a Bird”, is out now on all major streaming platforms. The cinematic track premiered with an emotionally charged music video on YouTube and debuted live to thousands at the WAVES Summit in Mumbai on May 1.

Blending Walker’s signature atmospheric electronic production with King’s soulful Hindi lyrics, “Story of a Bird” delivers a universal message: to honor the unseen creators, the quiet dreamers who keep going, even when no one is watching.

“We made this song for anyone who keeps creating, even in silence,” says Alan Walker. “It’s about persistence, hope, and reminding people that they’re not alone on their journey.”

King, one of India’s most streamed artists and a breakout voice across South Asia, adds a raw emotional layer to the song. His verses in Hindi bring poetic grit and defiance, giving voice to creators everywhere.

“Music finds the misfits first, it always has,” says King. “This song is for the rebels, the ones still sketching, writing, dreaming in the background. Alan and I wanted to create something honest and global. Collaborating with him felt natural, we both speak through music.”

For GoGo Penguin, the Manchester trio who’ve inspirationally blended jazz, classical and electronic influences since forming in 2012, the searching impulse in their music has reached a thrilling moment on their new seventh long-player.

Called Necessary Fictions, it finds pianist Chris Illingworth, bassist Nick Blacka and drummer Jon Scott digging deep internally, says Blacka, to reach “what we think are our integral, authentic qualities at this moment in time”. That entails some of their boldest moves to date, such as incorporating modular synthesizers into their sound more than ever before.

In a pair of mirroring pieces, the first, “Naga Ghost,” glides spectacularly yet almost imperceptibly from acoustic instrumentation into electronica, only for the second, “Silence Speaks,” a few tracks later, to make its sublime sonic transition in the opposite direction, as if bracketing the latter half of the record.

Elsewhere, for the first time, GoGo Penguin expanded their familiar three-man formation to invite in some guest players: on a further two tracks, “Luminous Giants” and “State Of Flux,” they enlisted the eight-piece strings ensemble, the Manchester Collective, led by creative director and violinist Rakhi Singh, while “Forgive The Damages” features the debut appearance of a human voice on a GGP recording, belonging to their close friend and sometime tour support, singer-songwriter Daudi Matsiko.

Holland Andrews (they/them) is a vocalist, composer, producer, and performer whose work focuses on the abstraction of operatic and extended-technique voice to build cathartic and dissonant soundscapes, who was recently named Guggenheim Fellow in Music Composition. Their music evades easy categorization, evoking strands of contemporary classical, ambient, electronic, and experimental music.

Their 2024 was a busy one, seeing the release of the Answers EP on Nils Frahm’s LEITER imprint while they also being a named as one of the artists for the 2024 Whitney Biennialat the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York, where they debuted two sound installations and performed live.

Aromatherapy: Vol. 1 is their new ambient drone series as Holland, over the past five years, has been developing drone music for personal use. Now releasing them publicly, this series is composed to stimulate your home or your headspace with uplifted peace, flow, self-realization, and relaxation, akin to how one uses aromatherapy.
