Toronto, Canada-based post-punk/alt-rock artist ThxSoMch sinks into nostalgia on the unrelenting, equally hard and soft Sound of You Laughing” out now via Atlantic Records and captures the wistful longing of flipping through old photos in its matching music video.

The latest commanding track took shape after musician Flawed Mangoes sent the artist various instrumentals, whose evocative guitar riff became the song’s foundation. After playing around with them and sending them to collaborator LMG for drum additions, ThxSoMch was so inspired, he freestyled nearly the whole song in one go. The artist shares, “I recorded it the next day and couldn’t stop listening to it. It sat on my computer for a while until I revisited it with grayskies while making more music. ‘Sound of You Laughing’ is both comfort and discomfort.” Defiant and uninhibited, each line is delivered with the slight twinge of pain that comes with digging up the past.

Philadelphia band Her New Knife are excited to share their cover of Björk’s “Pagan Poetry,” digitally available everywhere now via the tastemaking Philly label Julia’s War Recordings. A guitar-forward take on the fan-favorite track off Björk’s 2001 record Vespertinetoday’s cover sees the band infuse discordant instrumentation into a deeply emotional soundscape. Her New Knife strives for sonic innovation, turning a familiar track into a completely new experience.

“Björk as an artist has always inspired me. In her songwriting, I’ve always found something very important to take note of. Whether that be her lyrical imagery, sonic texturing, expression and inflection of the voice, or the pursuit of something new and personal and raw in her music,” guitarist and vocalist Edgar Atencio explains.

“In 2024, Ben [Kachler] and I recorded mostly guitar (classical and electric) and voice (additional vocals by Dylan Vaisey & Cassidy Hammond), in juxtaposition to the varied and lush orchestration of the original track, I wanted our version to be sparse and more focused on just guitar and voice- in an attempt to embody the rawness of Björk’s performance. This cover is something that I felt we could do in our own way, as a tribute to all these aspects of her music that I hold close.”

New Zealand-born, Gold Coast-based, Sam Osbourne Bryant is a 21-year-old multi-instrumentalist bringing a raw, emotional edge to the world of alternative rock. With a sound that channels the spirit of Oasis, Nirvana, and Stone Temple Pilots, Sam’s music blends grunge, Britpop, and hard rock into something both nostalgic and urgently current.

His new single “Cry” captures the restless, heavy-hearted frustration of young adulthood—feeling stuck, running in circles, and wrestling with the fear that nothing might ever change. With gritty guitars and laid-back vocals, “Cry” simmers with internal tension. Lines like “I can’t shake this feeling of being wasted” and “They told me that it would be alright / All you need is just a little patience / I don’t got no time to wait” cut deep into a sense of disillusionment that defines a generation.

Sam’s journey into music began the moment he saw the video for “Welcome to the Jungle” by Guns N’ Roses at age 12. What started with a guitar quickly grew into self-taught vocals, drums, and bass. Now, he’s crafting songs that ask a crucial question: Why should the world forget how to rock?

Fiercely DIY and emotionally honest, Sam Osbourne Bryant is part of the new wave pushing rock back into the spotlight—with grit, with feeling, and with something real to say.

Following last week’s release of Joybomb‘s “I, Paparazzi”, the Memphis alt rockers today drop their noir performance vid collab with Birmingham, Alabama, production house Lawnchair Youth.

This new visual captures the marginally re-tooled 2025 incarnation of Joybomb, with new member Luki Luvsik (guitar) joining Grant Beatty (vocals/guitar), Conner Booth (vocals, bass), and Xander Sinclair (drums).

Hinting at the inconvenient truths within, “I, Paparazzi” begins in foreboding hushed tones before giving way to the kind of stadium-sized belter that has been a hallmark of the band’s recent output.

Set firmly in the lyrical sites of Joybomb frontman Beatty are brain rot and the drug-like intoxication of social media. He explains, “‘I, Paparazzi’ is about self-surveillance, the degree to which we exploit ourselves and finely tailor and present real human experiences and desires to feed curated audiences for our own dopamine, social gratification, and sense of purpose or aggrandizement.”

For those who encountered Joybomb’s Modern Scripture EP, this kind of charged social commentary will come as little surprise. Bottomless consumer culture, chemical escapism, absurd political theater, and tragic romance were all variously skewered at points across the six tracks on Modern Scripture. This focused attack on some of the pillars of modern life comes not from a point of detached superiority, but from the acute understanding of being an active participant. The result is an explosive energy that channels inner frustrations at succumbing to the toxic trappings of contemporary living.

Stay tuned for more for Joybomb throughout the year.

Wolfberg is a rising alternative artist and singer-songwriter based in Los Angeles, California. With a deep, commanding baritone and a lifelong love of music, Wolfberg has been writing songs since childhood, blending raw emotion with cinematic soundscapes that bridge the worlds of indie, alternative, and adult contemporary.

His music combines intimate, stripped-down verses with sweeping, nostalgic choruses—fusing organic and electronic elements like electric guitars, warm synths, evocative samples, and lush strings. The result is a dynamic sound that feels both deeply personal and sonically expansive.

Wolfberg’s journey into the spotlight began after a life-altering event: he lost everything he owned in the recent Palisades fires. That moment became the spark to finally pursue his passion full-time. A father of two, he channels both heartbreak and hope into his songwriting.

Despite being a new artist, Wolfberg is already gaining serious traction—garnering over 60,000 monthly listeners on Spotify and racking up hundreds of thousands of views on YouTube.

Rising London artist Ray Laurél (he/they)returns with his latest single, I Wantchu – a vibrant, groove-laden track that marks the beginning of an exciting new era. Blending elements of indie, soul, and funk into an infectious pop structure, I Wantchu is a feel-good, genre-blurring anthem made to move to.

I Wantchu is available now on your streaming service of choice via APOLLO Distribution.

South African producer and DJ Da Capo has released his highly anticipated new album, ’Indigo Child II: Love & Frequency’. A follow-up to the beloved ’Indigo Child’, this project marks a powerful new chapter in his sonic journey; a deeply personal reflection on growth, sound, and spirit.

As the name suggests, Love & Frequency is both a tribute to the music that shaped him and a celebration of how his sound has evolved over time. Rooted in the concept of the “Indigo Child” (individuals known for creativity, intuition, and purpose), the album is a continuation of Da Capo’s ongoing mission to stretch the limits of House music, especially Afrohouse.

Across the project, Da Capo’s signature blend of rich instrumentation and global influences meets bold new experimentation. Listeners can expect dynamic collaborations, including a heartfelt track with Elaine, the soulful and genre-bending “Free Spirit” featuring FKA Mash and Julian Place, and the emotionally charged “Phakade Lami” featuring Mawhoo and SoulStar. The visual world is brought to life through a collaboration with multi-award-winning illustrator PR$DNT HONEY, whose three-piece album artwork reflects the depth and intentionality of the music.

Speaking on the album Da Capo commented, “This album is a reflection of my musical journey. It’s about who I’ve become through music, how I connect with the world, and the love and frequency I’m continuously learning how to share through sound.”

A deeply personal, boundary-pushing body of work exploring creativity, intuition, and evolution.

Following the soul-stirring release of “Crazyglue and Skeletons,” The Bapti$$, the boundary-pushing musical rebirth of multi-instrumentalist Joseph LaPlante, returns with “My Father’s Sins,” a raw, introspective new single taken from his just-announced debut album, Pop Cult(ure), out September 26th.

Anchored in aching guitar and a deep 808 heartbeat, “My Father’s Sins” is a confessional offering that digs deep into the scars of lineage, masculine silence, and the fight for spiritual freedom.

“I wholeheartedly believe in Generational Curses and contracts made with the Spirit World,” LaPlante reveals. “I took it on myself to break my family tree free of those shackles that have caused so much pain in my blood line.

After finding love unexpectedly and far away from home, ROSIN pays homage to her long distance love in today’s new video.

Gentle and intimate, ROSIN’s vocals lead the way, depicting how she returned from her trip with a full heart. Sharing more ROSIN explained: ‘I fell in love with someone while I was travelling and shortly after I found myself in a long-distance relationship.

It had been so long since I experienced being in love so strongly and it made me romanticise everything! (which I think is necessary to cope with the distance). I just found it so fascinating that we are in different countries, having different lives, speaking different languages but that we still share this bond with each other, that makes us want to be together, even if we are apart.’
