Netflix has unveiled the first official trailer for A House of Dynamite, a political thriller directed by Kathryn Bigelow. The film is scheduled for a limited theatrical release in the UK on October 3, 2025, and in the US on October 10, 2025. It will be available worldwide on Netflix starting October 24, 2025.
The official synopsis describes the film as follows: “When a single, unattributed missile is launched at the United States, a race begins to determine who is responsible and how to respond.” The movie features an impressive ensemble cast, including Idris Elba, Rebecca Ferguson, Gabriel Basso, Jared Harris, Tracy Letts, Anthony Ramos, Moses Ingram, Jonah Hauer-King, Greta Lee, and Jason Clarke. Supporting actors include Malachi Beasley, Brian Tee, Brittany O’Grady, Gbenga Akinnagbe, Willa Fitzgerald, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Kyle Allen, and Kaitlyn Dever.
A House of Dynamite is directed by Kathryn Bigelow, with a screenplay by Noah Oppenheim. This marks Bigelow’s return to feature filmmaking. The project is executive-produced by Brian Bell and Sarah Bremner, with producers including Greg Shapiro, Bigelow, Jeremy Hindle, Sumaiya Kaveh, and Oppenheim.
