Global superstar and GRAMMY nominee Demi Lovato has dropped her highly anticipated single “Kiss,” a vibrant dance-pop hit from her upcoming ninth studio album, It’s Not That Deep, set for release on October 24 via DLG Recordings/Island Records. Produced by Zhone (known for work with Kylie Minogue, Troye Sivan, and Kesha), “Kiss” is a playful, seductive track that embodies the album’s carefree vibe of letting go and embracing life’s joys. The song skyrocketed to viral fame after Demi teased it at LOOSE in Los Angeles on August 1 and again during her PAPER Magazine cover event in New York City on September 15, racking up over 60 million views across clips from these appearances.
The music video, directed by 91 Rules, captures the song’s spirited energy as Demi brings the lyrics to life, encouraging everyone to embrace their freedom and desires through playful kisses. The lighthearted yet bold visual reflects the lyric “it’s not that deep, unless you want it to be,” which inspired the album’s title.
Following the electro-pop gem “Fast” and the empowering anthem “Here All Night,” “Kiss” is the latest taste of It’s Not That Deep. Executive produced by Zhone, the 11-track album revisits Demi’s signature dance-pop sound with a confident, celebratory edge.
Demi marked the release of “Kiss” with a lively event at The Abbey in West Hollywood, where she and special guests revealed the full tracklist for It’s Not That Deep by holding up their phones to request songs for the DJ. The complete tracklist is below.
Fresh off her debut at Paris Fashion Week, Demi stunned at shows like Vivienne Westwood, Messika, Ann Demeulemeester, and Coperni, while also attending high-profile events such as her Nylon x Demi Lovato party, the Business of Fashion 500 Gala, and Edward Enninful’s EE72 launch celebration.
