Magnolia Pictures has announced the release date for the upcoming action film Normal, starring Bob Odenkirk. The movie, coming from the creator of John Wick, is scheduled to hit theaters on April 17, 2026. Directed by Ben Wheatley and written by Derek Kolstad, the film features Odenkirk as Sheriff Ulysses, who finds himself embroiled in chaos after a failed bank robbery disrupts a peaceful small town.

In addition to Odenkirk, the cast includes Henry Winkler, Lena Headey, Ryan Allen, Billy MacLellan, Brendan Fletcher, Peter Shinkoda, and Jess McLeod. Kolstad penned the screenplay, and Odenkirk also has a “story by” credit. The production team includes producers Marc Provissiero, Kolstad, and Odenkirk.
According to the official synopsis, Sheriff Ulysses’s assignment to the quiet Midwestern town of Normal was supposed to be a peaceful break from his personal struggles and recent moral conflicts. However, when a bank robbery goes wrong, it uncovers dark secrets, revealing that the town’s name is misleading, and nothing about it is as calm as it seems.
