INsiders Guide: Your Mate’s Ex, Katie Tupper, Cut The Kids in Half, SPF INFINI, City Builders…

Manchester’s newest party-starters Your Mate’s Ex are back, and they’re diving headfirst into 2000’s dance nostalgia with ‘Get Wet’ a punchy track with shout-along cheer chants and tons of fun. The song is the next taste of their upcoming debut EP, showcasing the euphoric, nostalgic sound they’ve shaped through late nights and life in their 20s in Manchester.

Katie Tupper announces her debut album Greyhound will arrive on January 21 with the release of her new single “Right Hand Man.” Often receiving comparisons to Olivia Dean and Charlotte Day Wilson, Tupper’s smoky alto voice wraps together soul, indie and alternative R&B with just a touch of folky twang. Born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Greyhound will bring the prairie roots of Tupper’s past to meet the blended and expanded worldview of her present.

On her upcoming debut, Tupper shares, Greyhounds that race on tracks are given these parameters and rabbit decoys to chase that are unreachable. If the front/fastest dog gets close to the decoy it just speeds up to make them run faster. The dogs think they are chasing something reachable but by design it will always be slightly ahead of them. It made me think about my relationships and how I act in the world. I am often both the Greyhound and the decoy — chasing something unreachable and being the thing that cannot be caught.”

Today’s release, “Right Hand Man,” is a funkier offering than we’ve heard from Greyhound’s previous singles. Tupper dives into the crushing and beautiful dichotomy of dependency on another person. She reflects, “This song is about the weight and pressures someone puts on you in a relationship— when you become someone’s only source of happiness and they are vocal about it. It becomes a compromising place to be in and clouds your decision making about the relationship. I am a very independent person and all of my relationships have been independent. This song was about the first time I felt someone acting co-dependent towards me and how difficult I found it.”

Boston five-piece rock band Cut The Kids In Half, led by brothers Jack and Charlie Silver, are excited to share their new single, “Mountains of Green.” With an alt-country-inspired sound, the song vulnerably exposes the grim pursuit of fame, from the hopefulness of it all to an agonizing epiphany that it’s torture. Accompanied by the ascension of acoustic guitars to a growling guitar riff and punchy drums, the single sonically follows the story of the mundane life to the chaos of stardom. Frontman Jack Silver’s aching vocals repeat the motif of “Get me out of here,” explicitly narrating the pain that is festering. “Mountains of Green” is a passionate, anguished, and ultimately daring song.

‘Mountains of Green’ is a song about desperation,” says Jack Silver. “It’s about this all-consuming desire for fame and fortune that causes people to abandon their dignity. The song is written from the perspective of someone searching for a way out of the typical, monotonous life; someone who believes that stardom will be their salvation. The lyrics are both grimly ironic (“Light a candle when I cross the stage/Don’t blow it out or I’ll blow my brains”) and tragically sincere (‘Get me out of here/I’d rather die than disappear.’)”

Continuing her mission to spotlight the next generation of forward-thinking trance and emotional club music, Montreal artist TDJ presents the fourth installment of her acclaimed SPF INFINI mix-compilation and video series with SPF INFINI: EARTH FROM SPACE & YERBBY, a transcendent back-to-back set from the British producer Earth From Space and Polish artist Yerbby.

Together, the pair deliver a deeply expressive 25-track mix and companion video that explore catharsis, euphoria, uncertainty, and release — told in the language of trance. “With this mix, we set out to capture the essence of SPF INFINI while crafting a story that both of us could express through music,” they explain. “It journeys through a range of emotions and works with artists from across the globe to channel those feelings beyond the confines of the club.”

Toronto alt-pop artist City Builders returns with “No Sleep,” a chaotic and euphoric anthem dedicated to wild nights, reckless fun, and the liberating art of letting go. Fueled by intrusive ideas and best-friend mischief, the song celebrates the beauty of becoming a “menace” for one night  because sometimes, freedom sounds like laughter echoing down city streets at 3AM.
“My best friend and I turn into absolute demons on a night out,” says Grace Turner, the force behind City Builders. “There’s nothing like giving into your intrusive ideas with a best friend, and I needed to write something that sounded as chaotic as our nights out.”

The track came together in a whirlwind week with producers Zach Zanardo and Al P, and co-writer Maia Davies – a dream team Turner had admired for years. The chemistry in the studio was electric; from initial demo to final mix, “No Sleep” came to life almost overnight. “Everyone was so stoked with the record that we got the ball rolling immediately and completed the track in a week,” Turner shares. “I even got my friends in the studio to record ad libs and backup vocals and scheduled a shoot for the cover art the same night.”

Latin GRAMMY-nominated and U.S. Platinum-selling musician Manuel Turizo releases his new single, “Cosas de Enamorao” on Friday, November 14th, via Sony Music Latin. The song follows the release of Manuel’s previous single “Mirame Ahora (Salud Mi Reina)”.

This new single adds a fresh chapter to his artistic catalog showcasing his most romantic side over a smooth reggae rhythm. After conquering audiences with bachata, merengue, ballads, and urban-pop, the Colombian singer continues to expand his sound with a warm, heartfelt, and refreshing approach.

“Cosas de Enamorao” captures the magic of love in its purest form — the effortless, intense connection between two people who communicate through glances and get lost in lingering kisses. With his signature voice and relaxed flow, Turizo invites listeners to feel those emotions that “can’t be explained, only experienced”.

The music video features Manuel performing live with his band on an island. Without elaborate effects or distractions, the focus is on presence, interpretation, and the warm energy of the music itself, allowing the song’s essence to take center stage.

Continuing his unstoppable run, Oscar Maydon delivers his latest single “ME AMOLA” alongside Los Dareyes de la Sierra, a track that seamlessly fuses Maydon’s signature corridos edge with the classic sound of sierreño. Produced by Oscar Maydon, Joel Nuñez, Darey Castro, and Ernesto Fernández, and written by Alexis “Chachito” Fierro, the song embodies the lavish, nocturnal lifestyle that has become a hallmark of Maydon’s storytelling.

Driven by infectious melodies and sleek wordplay, “ME AMOLA” captures the rush of nightlife and the magnetism of attraction — from designer fits and luxury cars to late-night escapades that blur the line between love and illusion. “Me amola, me amola / Perdimos la racha en TikTok no me contesta,” Maydon sings, balancing bravado with the emotional pulse that continues to define his music.

The collaboration with Los Dareyes de la Sierra marks a full-circle moment that bridges generations of regional Mexican sounds, merging the raw essence of sierreño with the genre-bending energy that’s propelling Maydon to global recognition.

The release of “ME AMOLA” arrives on the heels of a major moment in Oscar Maydon’s career. Just weeks ago, he took home two Latin Billboard Awards for his chart-topping hit “Tu Boda” alongside Fuerza Regida — winning Hot Latin Song of the Year, Vocal Event and Regional Mexican Song of the Year. He also lit up the stage at the 2025 Billboard Latin Music Awards with a powerful performance of “Amigos? No.” alongside Netón Vega.

On the week marking the two-year anniversary of her debut album Dennis Daughter, Platinum rap star Lola Brooke releases her sophomore project, iight bet! Get it HERE via Team 80 Productions/ Arista Records

iight bet! finds Brooklyn’s breakthrough artist at a pivotal point in any artist’s journey. After fame and success, and even amid the whirlwind that comes with it—as Lola herself would attest—countless factors can sway you off the path of purpose. iight bet! serves as both a call-to-action and a manual for resilience, a reminder to get up, take charge, and redefine your own tone.

Pain,” one of the project’s standout tracks, magnifies that theme of reinvention. In its official music video, Lola plants her feet in the grass, or in this case, on NYC concrete, reconnecting with her roots and drawing strength from her community. The result is a fierce, unapologetic statement that proves she has always been, and will forever be, in a league of her own. Watch HERE

Few voices make the holidays feel like a love song quite like Kevin Ross. This season, the award-winning singer-songwriter unwraps This Winter, a lush, soul-stirring new single that blends romance, warmth, and vocal brilliance into the soundtrack of the season. Anchored by the heartfelt refrain “All I need is love for Christmas,” Ross delivers a timeless performance that feels as intimate as a fireside embrace and as grand as a holiday stage.

With “This Winter,” Ross channels the spirit of classic soul while crafting a modern holiday anthem that shines with cinematic beauty and emotional depth. In the accompanying forthcoming music video, R&B star Kevin Ross is joined by VH1’s Deelishis for a cinematic moment that radiates romance. Set against a backdrop of soft lights, luxe textures, and subtle nods to the holidays, the visuals bring a sultry sophistication to the season. It’s a blend of classic holiday charm and modern R&B allure that feels unforgettable.

The track, his first release for Rolling Out Music, the newly launched record label from Rolling Out, captures everything listeners crave this time of year: love, connection, and a melody that lingers long after the lights fade.

This song is really about love being the greatest gift of all,” says Kevin Ross. “No matter where you are or who you’re with, the heart of the holidays is connection. ‘This Winter’ is my way of wrapping that feeling in melody and soul. It’s the kind of record I hope people return to year after year.”

Morton (Gospel), Aqua Dolls (Pop Punk) and Rebirth Brass Band (and many more, and recording artists).

Deezle boasts an impressive resume including being a 3x Grammy winning engineer and producer and song writing from Lil Wayne’s Carter III album, 11x ASCAP Pop and R&B award winner, Billion Streams Award for participation in rapper Drake’s hit single “In My Feelings” and dozens of other #1 and top 40s hits, most impressively with his hands having touched over 75 million records sold.

With a Rage Against The Machine like swagger, “FUK ZUK” is a maelstrom of spoken word fury and fist-pumping post-rock.

Venting his frustrations with the kind of algorithmic invasions we all find ourselves subject to at the hands of tech-companies on a daily basis, frontman Ben Robinson put pen to page and the poetic lyrics at the heart of “FUK ZUK” poured out in one. As Ben recalls:

“One morning on holiday it dawned on me that we were all being terrorised by algorithms, purposefully polarised, enraged, saddened and driven to conflict… All for the benefit of the agenda’s of some tech operators. I think we’re all waking up to that. The track tries to articulate that frustration and in clear language and lay it out in plain sight what is going on. Having a young child has made me think differently about where to draw the line on what’s happening to our minds and very existence as humans. There’s an urgency and boldness to the message, a wake up call… It’s about the whole cast of tech monopolies and also the general mindset they operate in.”

London born artist, poet and musician Truman releases the stunning visuals for single “Tell Him” featuring Isabel – set for release on the

Built on smooth, understated production, Truman’s “Tell Him”, featuring Isabel thrives in its simplicity. Gentle percussion and ambient textures create a dreamy backdrop where the duo’s vocals intertwine with effortless chemistry. Exploring themes of honesty, vulnerability, and unspoken confession, “Tell Him” captures the delicate tension between what’s felt and what’s said. Truman delivers a performance steeped in raw emotion, his vocals carrying a quiet intensity that cuts through the minimal production. Subtle yet deeply moving, the music video, directed by Saul Abraham, pairs the emotional restraint of the track with raw, human imagery. It features adolescent boys performing the lyrics directly to camera, intercut with intimate moments of Truman and his Nan, creating a tender portrait of vulnerability and generational connection.

Abraham, a half Finnish, half British award-winning director and producer, brings his signature cinematic touch to the project. Known for his thought-provoking and stylish storytelling, often centring on modern relationships and society’s quiet tensions. With a track record that includes his Oscar®-qualifying short ENJOY starring Himesh Patel, his direction elevates “Tell Him” into a piece that lingers emotionally, a reflection on honesty, love, and the courage to express it.

Delving into the story behind the track and video Truman tells us: “The song is all the words that sad adult men choke on, the deeper voice of their gut as they sink pints and sink into their assigned seats at the bar. Whilst making the track, Isabel sent us over a voice note from her phone with the intention that Jakwob would have a listen and we would then move things into the studio – the recording she sent was so on point we ended up using it in the final master. The tonal quality and vocal intuition she has is incredible. The video shows an early moment in time when men are learning to mask, dressing up in a false self.”

Blazing a trail of future music to come, “Meteor” is the first of a series of planned releases from the Australian folk-pop duo due to impact in the coming months that will form their highly anticipated fifth album.

Inspired by the powerful forces of nature that reflect a tumultuous inner world, the track was recorded by the ocean in Victoria, Australia, and mixed in Canada. Of this sensual, string-laden new single, Charm of Finches say:

“This song came out of a bit of a turbulent time, and contemplates the sometimes fraught relationship with the self. We’ve visited many dramatic landscapes this year – we hiked up an active volcano in New Zealand and visited the oldest rainforest in the world up in Northern Queensland. We think that witnessing the power and grandeur of nature really influenced the writing of this song.”

Directed and edited by Charm of Finches, the track is accompanied by a bewitching official video featuring elegant choreography and shamanic feathered costumes hand-crafted by the band. Of the visuals, the band add:

“We love to create music videos that are sort of like mini short films. We drew aesthetic inspiration from Yellow Jackets with a sprinkle of Narnia. We got out the glue guns and handcrafted elven twig crowns and feathered costume pieces, and even painted an animal skull mask. We collaborated with our incredible friends who helped us design and put together the costumes, source props as well as dance and act in it! We wanted to capture a magical, powerful, natural world and incorporate the beauty of the Australian landscape.”

Hercules & Love Affair music has always been about folding past, present and future together – and never more so than in the latest phase, encapsulated by the track that launches things, “Someone Else is Calling.”

If the song-first, ultra-gothic mind-movie of the last H&LA album In Amber was partly motivated by Andy Butler falling out of love with dance culture, this new body of work – an EP titled Someone Else Is Calling – is an unabashed resurgence of the love affair. A co-production with London underground veteran and inspiration to Butler, Quinn Whalley of Paranoid London and Decius, the lead single is a surging, tactile acid track woven around the vocal of Icelandic icon Hips & Lips aka Elín Ey – who hits that new wave disco sweet spot between Grace Jones and Yazoo era Alison Moyet.

Elín’s lyrics work perfectly with the bodily momentum of the sounds, circling around themes of self-possession and the urge to move on to the next experience, the next sensation: hunger for reality. And this taps into Andy’s feelings on escaping New York and moving to Belgium, discovering that dance culture was anything but the hollowed-out, identikit-festival-lineup conveyor belt he’d feared, and still had plenty of outposts where it was still – as he’d first experience it as a teen – about the hot, sweaty reality of diverse people seeking communion, communication and heightened ways of being in the here and now.

Emerging folk singer-songwriter Sierra Carson today unveils her sophomore EP, Too Gone To Get To, a deeply personal five-track collection that captures the ache, honesty, and eventual empowerment that comes from heartbreak. Blending alt-folk textures with indie soul, the project marks a creative turning point for the rising artist.

“It’s a collection of songs written about my own personal encounters with love in a few different forms: romantic love, self love, and the constant conflict of our hearts and minds throughout it all. I’m so damn proud of it,” shares Sierra.

Across Too Gone To Get To, Carson reflects on the stages of loss and rediscovery with both tenderness and fire. Early singles like “Frostbite” introduced listeners to the aftermath of a relationship gone sour and the moments spent missing someone who no longer exists in the way you remember. The title track, “Too Gone To Get To,” carries that longing forward channeling heartache into catharsis, complete with layered vocals and inventive percussion that underscore the emotional chaos of letting go.

Elsewhere, Sierra finds the beauty in imperfection and the human impulse to reach for what we know isn’t good for us. The newly released “Jack & Coke” blends her soulful rasp and clever lyricism in a song that captures the messy, physical side of heartbreak — a smoky, late-night reflection that sits somewhere between Olivia Dean and Laci Kaye Booth.

Emerging from Europe’s alt-digital scene, h3nce unveils his debut EP ‘WRITE IT ON YOUR FLAGS’ – a six-track release produced by Leon Laguna (EASY EASY, Jewls). The project combines a powerful mix of indie rock, post-punk, shoegaze, and grunge, brought to life through a distinctly DIY approach both in production and visuals. Across the record, h3nce takes listeners through chaotic, unfiltered territory, driven by jagged guitars, explosive drums, and a vocal performance charged with urgency and emotion.

Multi-platinum artist Stephen Sanchez and French singer/songwriter Devihave debuted a new side project, Dress & Tie. Today, the duo shared their self-titled EP, out now via Mercury Records.

Listen to Dress & Tie HERE

Dress & Tie serve up a trifecta of intimate love songs with stripped-back production by Stephen and Konrad Snyder (Kacey Musgraves, Noah Kahan). On the EP, Stephen shares, “Dress & Tie was born out of love for one another and a shared pursuit of real love songs in a world full of failed attempts. These songs were written from a place of passion over pressure, telling our story alone. We both wholeheartedly hope you find yourselves endlessly inspired by the magic of these songs in a world that has seemingly forgotten that love is still simply this: attainable, beautiful, wonderful magic.”

The project marks Stephen’s latest release since his debut album Angel Face, which came out in 2023 to critical praise from NPR, SPIN, V Magazine, FLOOD, American Songwriter, and more. Stephen followed this up with multiple sold-out headline tours across North America, the UK, Australia, and Europe, and most recently wrapped a support run with Mumford & Sons.

Big Loud Records / Back Blocks Music’s powerhouse country artist, songwriter and breakout star, Ashley Cooke, releases her brand-new project, ace – listen HERE. The project bridges the gap between her debut and sophomore albums, spanning nine deeply personal tracks and featuring five brand-new songs. Among them is the long-awaited official release of fan-favorite “baby blues,” which has already earned over 20 million views across TikTok UGC, and her latest single “the hell you are,” which recently debuted as #1 most added on country radio.

Says Ashley on ace“This 9 song project means more to me than anything I’ve done thus far. It’s not my sophomore record quite yet… it’s more of a bridge to it. A chronological story, a concept record about the deeply personal parts of the last 2.5 years (since my debut record). It’s conversations with my friends/favorite cowriters about very real topics during a chapter that changed me to my core. Here is my heart in 9 tracks. Handle with care. Welcome to ace.”

Ashley is set for a string of high-profile live moments in celebration of ace. She’ll take the stage tonight at the Grand Ole Opry as part of its OPRY 100 series alongside Kelsea Ballerini and LANY, followed by a performance at Red Bull Jukebox Nashville at The Pinnacle tomorrow with Treaty Oak Revival, Kashus Culpepper, and Carter Faith. On Monday, 11/17, Ashley will perform “the hell you are” on The TODAY Show on NBC during the 10AM ET hour, before stepping into the ring at WWE Monday Night RAW to perform “God Bless America” at Madison Square Garden for John Cena’s final New York City match. On December 1, Ashley will perform for ACM Lifting Lives presents Ashley Cooke and Friends at The Listening Room Cafe in Nashville.

Brooklyn-based music project Every Us returns with their latest single, “The Motions,” a soulful indie groove that dives deep into the cycle of life, love, and rediscovery. Staying true to their artistic vision of capturing the feeling of when we’re all together, Every Us transforms “The Motions” into a transcendent musical experience. The single is now available for global audiences to stream.

“The Motions” reflects the push and pull between numbness and awakening — that quiet rebellion against the monotony of going through life’s motions. As frontman Ryan Jones explains, “It started with a chant, a half–melody looping like a thought you can’t kill, and from there we built the production around that feeling: pent-up guitars, carelessness disguised as control and dusty yet optimistic nihilism.” The song captures that restless energy of someone reaching their breaking point, “a grey suit that had stopped caring long ago,” as Jones describes. “By the end of the song, that same suit’s driving through the desert, and singing back from the abyss. The outro is their call back to you. This track is for the ones who’ve given up waiting for change. For anyone who can hear the voice calling back, telling them to pull the ripcord and meet them out there.” That sentiment resonates in the song’s very structure; the interplay between driving drums, layered vocals, and textured guitars evokes both exhaustion and renewal. While the lyrics describe a sense of emotional detachment, the production propels listeners toward rediscovery and movement. With lines like “Paper dreams for gasoline, sing scat for prophecy, burn scripts we meant to read,” the song urges defiance against conformity and a reclamation of purpose. “The Motions,” written and produced by Ryan Johns and mixed and mastered by Ian Kimmel, features performances by Connor Sandstrom on guitar, with vocals from Olivia Reid, Ryan Jones, Connor Sandstrom, and Chynna Sherrod.

Natalie Del Carmen, a rising star in the Americana world, has released her newest folk-inflected single, “June, You’re on My Mind,” off her upcoming full-length album Pastures. Pulled straight from pastoral summer landscapes, the track captures a sense of deeply ingrained nostalgia, and the burden of loving someone even when you don’t want to. “June, You’re on My Mind,” is now streaming on digital platforms worldwide.

“June, You’re on My Mind,” the roots-driven track, blends light, vibrant acoustic strings with Natalie Del Carmen’s songbird-like refrain, piano, and soft percussive brushwork. Like other songs on Pastures, it features Brunjo, a Tennessee music collective that enriches the sound without overshadowing Del Carmen’s evocative lyricism and dynamic vocals. The recording hums with mandolin and fiddle flourishes from Amelia Eisenhauer, anchored by Del Carmen’s gentle guitar work and guiding touch. Exploring the act of putting away a lover in an “emotional attic,” Del Carmen pairs vivid storytelling with her attempts at detachment. She creates distance by placing her feelings out of reach, a symbolic, poignant gesture that reflects her desire to “put away” the remnants of a past flame. Through her songwriting, she discovers that “June,” whether a time, place, or memory, still lingers at the forefront of her mind. “June, You’re on My Mind’ is about finding the unwelcome presence of a significant part of your life in the corners of your own emotional attic,” Del Carmen says, “neatly packed away but never truly gone for good.” Mastered by Eric Conn (Neil Young, John Prine, Sheryl Crow) and mixed by GRAMMY Award-winning producer Brandon Bell (Brandi Carlile, Joni Mitchell, Alison Krauss, Allison Russell), the single perfectly balances Del Carmen’s youthful perspective with classic American bluegrass textures to create a timeless, quietly powerful cut.

After a major year following the release of their acclaimed EP Quiet Pleasures, Glixen are excited to share their newest single, “Medicine Bow.” Today’s release finds the group diving deeper into their world of hard-hitting sound, as layers of distortion bloom around tender vocals. Introspective lyrics swim beneath a wall of sound, resulting in something raw, vulnerable, and immediate.

“It’s a sense of urgency bound to the quiet yearning for self-comfort,” Glixen explains. “The song drifts between lucidity and a fever dream, where soft vulnerability meets slow-burning decay. The lead and rhythm guitars melt and unmeld in a hypnotic blur, mirroring the emotional push and pull at the heart of the track. With each refrain, “Medicine Bow” becomes a reflection of that internal ache to hold on while letting go — a sonic unraveling that feels intimate and disoriented.”

Seattle, WA-based eight-piece psych funk outfit Cytrus share their anthemic sophomore album Duality out now with groovy, 1970s-inspired track “Leave The Rest“. Plus, the band will perform live via YouTube as they continue to raise money for various charities this Sunday and later, in person, this winter across Oregon and Washington–see dates.

Through their livestream shows, Cytrus has raised over $1,500 for Snohomish Boys and Girls Club, or 20 meal bags per week for eight weeks in the wake of the government shutdown. The band aims to continue to raise money for those in need. Guitarist and vocalist Jared Squires is proud to support local community efforts and shares, “When I was a kid, my family periodically relied on government funded programs and community support. To know there are kids and families today facing food insecurity and this music thing can move the needle in a positive way, even if just a little? It makes my heart full.”

Duality pays homage to 1960s & 1970s rock, soul and psychedelia, while exploring themes of good, evil, mortality, immortality and time. Over six tracks, the group finds their groove with flowing instrumentals, soaring solos, hard-hitting riffs. With these songs, the band found their identity and their artistic direction as they continue to build their sound and grow their following.

Squires says making the album “felt tangible, urgent and loved. I think this shines through in the final product. This is a sophomore album from a band that has the utmost respect for attention to detail in their craft. I’m just really proud of what we created.” The group hopes to take listeners on a journey that delicately balances nostalgia with present-day and the familiar and the foreign.

“Leave The Rest” is a 1970s riff-focused, horn-driven upbeat rock song that explores the liberation found when leaving an exhausting situation. It was one of the earliest songs written for the record which set the tone for how it would evolve. Squires adds, “It’s a party starter! It just has everything that people have come to love about the “Cytrus” sound. It’s groovy, harmonically rich, has punchy horns and anthemic solos.”
